These cranes are programmed with different safety zones. The crane therefore recognizes that I am lowering at the “lashing platform”. Safety wise it starts slowing the hoist down, down until it comes to a complete stop. This is pre-programmed. We can stop the hoist down before it automatically does if the pin men on the lashing platform wish us to do so.
Do you have a view of you loading containers on deck from shoreside to seaside instead of sea to shore? Would like to see a view of you doing that. One of the fastest operators I've seen!
That’s quite unconventional mate. We usually only load from sea to shoreside. That’s how we get the containers from the planning under the crane. We rarely do load from sea to shore though. But if such a situation were to occur then I’ll capture it for you and post it. Thanks for watching!

Wij heb geen mogelijkheid om vooraf stekkers in de containers te draaien. Vooral omdat wij op carrier basis werken. Ook hebben wij geen 2e kat. Ik werk vooralsnog op een conventionele terminal. Oude APM Rotterdam Maasvlakte 1. Tegenwoordig werken wij onder de vlag van Hutchison Ports na overname. Als het gaat om energieverbruik. Ik heb geen idee hoeveel dat dat is. Vast wel uit te lezen via de techno dienst. Ik heb in de kraan cabine helaas geen mogelijkheid tot aflezen.
One of the quickest crane videos I've seen! Can you tilt the grab so that one end of the container touches down before the other, or is it always basically horizontal?
How are the straddles lining up the boxes on the plum? Lazer/light system? We use a lazer system that works off stickers placed on the straddles but we mostly use chalk marks on the concrete as they’re more accurate. Your strads seem to be nailing it down to the inch.
@@shizette sounds similar to what we use. Even with chalk marks, our strad drivers make me use side-shift all the time, even the occasional long travel.
@@crashtestcal6484 haha I know what you mean. We do have 6 flippers on the spreader, which allows me to pick up pretty much all containers that aren’t centered properly without the need to gantry left or right.

@@gabrielcontreras3993 it’s alright. I’ll still average around about 33 moves per hour. When were loading or discharging in the holds it goes a lot quicker. Especially because we can use all 5 lanes under the crane. We dump them into the street. No bomb carts at this terminal.

How can the crane place the container correctly when the space is tight? It fully depends on the skillful operator or there are some tools supporting them.
No that’s a intermediate stop, so the pin men can add twistlocks in each corner pocket. After adding these, I’m able to stack the containers on top of each other. We do have a scale, but that engages once I pick up the container for the first time.
The chairs we sit in are pretty ergonomic. All kinds of way adjustable. You do need to stretch once a hour for comfort. I don’t experience neck pain fortunately.
How about showing some thing that requires skill. Like for instance . Water side cell , 6 high twin lift load. Loading 40 footers on deck like this is for 10 year olds .I am surprised you did not loose a twistlock in cell 6 being so rough .Trying to land and lock one side before the other and then getting a swing up like that .Took you six shots to land it properly. Shame on you. 🤣 Was not the wind buddy it was the driving. 🤣🤣🤣

We can trim/list/skew. All withing certain parameters though. I do prefer keeping the beam horizontal though.

It’s with a laser/light system. Not every cranes system is perfect though. Here we work with lasers on the cranes and reflectors on the straddles.

Fully a conventional terminal. No robots yet. In the making though….

That’s exactly right. They’re adding the corner pocket cones so that the containers can interlock with each other.

Thank you. If it’s skewing because of the wind (like in this video), I’ll control it by trollying forwards or backwards.
