- Thank you for helping me reach 75,000 Subscribers! As promised, here is a little bit of my life. I worked so hard on this video.... Many of the drawing are in extreme time lapse. I wanted to showcase a wide variety of art forms that I use in tutorials. Enjoy!

Q:What penci, paper, pen (etc) do you use?
A: I generally use a 2b drawing pencil and artist sketch paper, sometimes Bristol. Check out my Art Supplies video for more information. • Drawing Supplies
Q: How do you record your videos?
A: I use a Sony Handycam HD to record my videos and Adobe Elements Premier for editing
Q: Can I send you mail?
A: Yes! Make sure you check that the correct postage is on the envelope or it won't make it to me.
Q: Will you write me back?
A: If you include a self-addressed stamped envelope, I will reply back to you! :)
Q: Can you draw a picture of my dog. horse, cat, Mother (Etc)
A: Unfortunately, I am unable to take personal requests. If you are interested in purchasing a commissioned drawing from me, send me a message for more information.
Q: How can I get better at drawing?
A: The biggest thing you can do is keep drawing! Never give up.

You have one of the most sweetest hearts I've ever seen and you have such a beautiful gift of not only being able to draw and create stunning artwork but you also have so much kindness within you. This is by far !!! And I mean by far my favorite draw my life I have seen. I have seen a few and they are all magical for sure but this one was special. I think you are a really talented gifted person. PS on side note give that Disney thing a minute or two.. life is weird and crazy. Look at J Griffith who would have ever thought Disney would come to her and say "hey do our characters in your style". Or perhaps you sharing your story sparks something in the heart of future artists. You are awesome. That is what I think. you are a brave artist. I watched how you did this story board and was blown away by how many strong courageous art choices you made. Ok stopping now because I could just go on and on.
What an inspiring video.... I know her story touched me and the fact thru all she has lived Kindness has been her goal thru it all!!!!
I think it shows in her art too. That beautiful heart just makes for some inspired uplifting creativity.

Wow. I've been going on UA-cam for a long time but, something about you and your art channel in particular is captivating. I've been watching your videos all day today and this one just about made me cry. The domino effect is amazing when you really think about it. You've impacted and inspired so many people, including myself. Thank you for being so generous and uplifting. The Holy Spirit is just glowing on the inside and outside of you.
I am a 58 yr old woman and when my husband of 33 yrs passed away I took up art and I just love it...for 4 yrs I've been doing mixed media art journals. Everything I have learned I have learned by lovely people like yourself who give of themselves to teach and inspire. I happened upon your video this evening, and I was so blessed! Isn't God an awesome God and friend! I love how he let you taste your dream yet it seems like most of all you wanted what He wanted for your life, most. He had a design ( pun intended) for your life and it seems that is where you have found peace and contentment and in a sweet place of ministry. I will pray for the Lord's continued blessing in your life AND I'm your new subscriber! Your story reminded me of my daughters in some ways. I homeschooled my kids too and my daughter always wanted to so something with kids too and today she is married and she and her husband are foster parents! I live with them so I get to see God's plan lived out.

Thank you sooooo much for making this wonderful, inspiring video!!! It showed how I shouldn't be depressed and afraid of what lies ahead because of my shyness and social anxiety. And work got around the school about my drawing and a few kids asked me how I got so good I told them about your channel and to make up their own. So you inspired the next 2 generations of kids to draw, feel loved ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

So I have a story of my own! So my aunt first taught me art, she was really compassionate about it and it was like a art teacher at home. I learned a lot from her and am very thankful, then, When I was starting preschool, the teachers gave out coloring pages of Trees, etc. I drew one and it looked the same as the others, next year in first I move one hour away from where we were first. There people had average drawing skills (I made a Best Friend there [REALLY BEST FRIEND] but he was not into art) (Or my taste of music) and I had 'Pro' they said. (I was sketching stick figures in preschool) Now we skip to 3rd Grade (I am now making real humans [Bad IN 3rd Grade]) and comics. Then, we move back to where we started in preschool. (I move back) I got kinda rusty with art and stopped for 3rd's summer and 4th and 4th's summer. Skip to 5th grade (Age: 10-11) I learn how to draw from watching videos on UA-cam (Before I asked my mom to buy me How To Draw books and looked at pictures) I get WAAAY better in 5th (Now being able to sketch real humans (REALLY GOOD) but am working on hands, feet, and proportions. That is it for now I will update when I feel the need too. (Or maybe I will forget about this comment) Oh, and also I m a Male. :P Thanks For Reading!!!
Sorry for it being all long, when I grow up I may make a Draw My Life too, cause I got tons of storys from my past, even at this point.

Hey I'm twelve and art is my passion. I know a lot of people are going to see this and think "she's twelve she is just a kid that is told she is good by her parents" but I hope I have true talent. I am often told I am good even got an award for art at school. But people to tell me I am good I feel don't understand how I really poor everything into my art. In art I will just sit in the back at my own table creating my own personal pieces of art that mean everything to me. So when I watch your videos I feel like u r talking to me and you inspire me to continue in art and not give up on it. Thank you for that!
I'm 13 and my dream is to be a disney animator. I think it is absolutely amazing what you got to experience and all the amazing people you got to meet. You definitely have inspired me to follow my dreams even more and I can't wait to put more and more effort into my dream and hopefully actually get to work in the studio one day. 😄
I remember you working so hard at camp, drawing pictures for kids and taking requests. You were always so inspiring to all of us kids! You're so right. My parents usually are fighting and my mom is out of the house almost the whole week. So when she does come home its like a battlefield.
that is so cool!!!!! I guess my story is sort of like yours. I've always been obsessed with horses And everything about them, and since I live in a tiny apartment, I couldn't ever be around them. but last week I had the best time of my life at horse camp learning how to take care of them and them, the instructors even told me I'm doing really well for my first time really riding and focusing on what I'm doing. my mom even I might even be able to do weekly lessons!!!!!!!
This video inspired me amazingly that I cant even explain :) I love art so much! I've loved it ever since I was born! My name is Rachel, and I am 11 years old. Your videos are so inspirational and they make me look at my art and feel proud. A lot of my friends used to make me feel bad about my art. I think it's truly amazing that you have gotten a chance to meet some of the Disney animators. When I heard that you wanted to work for Disney i got excited. My dream is to be a Disney animator someday. I love art a lot and I really love to draw. This is my art story: when I was little I wasn't exactly a art lover. It wasn't until 2nd grade when I won a Revolutionary War art contest. (I drew the battle of Bunker Hill) so after that I watched and listened to as many art lessons and artists I could. now I'm glad I chose that path :)

I've loved reading books since I was very little, but I never thought to write one. I was always bored with writing until this year when my language arts teacher assigned us a short story. It was at that moment that I got to test my creativity and discovered my love for writing. My friends encouraged me to get a Wattpad and to write stories there so naturally, I did. I happily wrote stories until I did an on demand paper for class. I poured everything I had into that on demand and I got an apprentice. I felt like quitting. I got on your channel in hopes to watch a tutorial so I could temporarily forget my problems and I found this video. It inspired me to talk to my language arts teacher about some of my stories on Wattpad and she told me she wanted to read one! I made a hard copy of my favorite and recently turned it into her and she said she wants more! This video has put the fire back in my eyes and has encouraged me to continue to pursue my dream as an author and for that I thank you.

Dear Art ala Carte:I have been watching your art for a while now and I am super inspired. I used to be TERRIBLE at drawing cats and now my parents are like ":O How do you learn to draw like that?" And I say, "There's this girl on youtube who does art lessons!" You have really changed my life and I love it. I one day hope to be an amazing artist like you. I used to look at other kid's drawings and think 'I wish I could draw like that' But now I can! Its all because of you!
It's very easy for someone on the outside to say it was a shame or a waste that you didn't went into the Disney stuff.. but you are the one who really knew what was the best for you.
It's the same thing with bandmembers of huge and well respected bands just quit because they have gotten tired of the music, touring or whatever.
I've been there myself and have had opportunities for some of my dreams to come true, but I didn't pursue it and I'm glad I didn't. I know in my heart that I made the right choice, and the deicision that made me happy :)

I've been an artist for..actually pretty much exactly 3 years now, but for most of that time, i was just..drawing. for the longest time i just did lines, coloring, maybe shading. i had lots of issues with anatomy, still kinda do, but your videos..with all the skeletons, basic shapes and such..it's so helpful :D
I'm jealous of a childhood like that, haha. in fact i just now had to turn on some music in another tab to drown out my parents yelling XD

When you were talking about inspiration, all I could think about is how much of a inspiration your are to me! I am 11 years old and i am a self taught artist! I love drawing animals, and fursonas! You have helped me so much, your videos and work has even made my day and got me through hard times. Your videos taught me that even little drawings, can make a difference in someone's day! That's why I made my channel, because I hope to inspire people just like you inspired me! Valerie, you are such an amazing person. It's hard to think you went through some troubles because your such an inspiration. You Inspired me to keep drawing. I had a period in my life where I was confused and frustrated beacuse I didn't know what to do and what my purpose was. I just had a hard time with everything and sometimes cried myself to sleep. But art has helped he express my feelings through pain, love, and laughs! Acting and art are things I will always love and have helped me through everything. And thank you Valerie, for making videos and making me laugh, smile, and draw every single day.

This was honestly just so inspirational, I can't stop crying. I still would've gone with Disney. Don't get me wrong you're so inspiring but I just adore Disney and I can't imagine putting that much work into something and just giving up on that dream. It's fine though I have nothing wrong with your decision and I'm happy that you're happy.

I first didn't think art was a great thing in my life but when I start noticing I loved art I invested in a youtube channel to like take notes and take my inspiration from and your channel was the first, I started drawing in my English book and I had to draw one of the fairy tales so I took red riding hood and drew the running wolf tutorial since it was my first time drawing a wolf I can see it had flaws but you explained so well my teacher showed it to the class thank you so much for helping me see art is my passion in life thank you Valerie :3
