I'm coming back to this show, I absolutely adore this with all my heart. I was going through a terrible time the past few years and this show made it bearable, I had something to look forward to.

My favorite episode is the one in Scotland also episode 3 is the saddest between Dash and Lord M i thought i would die also the Irish episode. Sooo sad..

I'm pretty sure that the *Scotland* estate scenes were actually just *Bramham Park* in *Leeds, England.* I'm not sure where the *Scotland* moor scenes were filmed but I'd guess they were also filmed in *Bradford* or *Leeds.*
The First Anglo-Afghan War (also known as the Disaster in Afghanistan) was fought between the British East India Company and the Emirate of Afghanistan from 1839 to 1842. The war is notorious for the loss of 4,500 British and Indian soldiers (plus 12,000 of their camp followers) to Afghan tribal fighters. Initially, the British successfully intervened in a succession dispute between emir Dost Mohammad (Barakzai) and former emir Shah Shujah (Durrani), whom they installed upon conquering Kabul in August 1839. However, in 1841, the Army of the Indus, numbering between 24,000 and 28,000 (including families of soldiers, military and political pundits), suffered a series of defeats at the hands of rebel Afghan tribesmen. The main British Indian and Sikh force occupying Kabul, having endured harsh winters as well, was almost completely annihilated while retreating in January 1842. It was one of the first major conflicts during the Great Game, the 19th century competition for power and influence in Central Asia between Britain and Russia.

Obviously, I know what happens coz I'm a history buff. He dies at age 42 in 1861 but I want to see seasons after 3. By the way, I've seen many portrayals of Queen Victoria but it's always been after she's old and bitter and ugly but I had never seen portrayals of her in her youth. Jenna Coleman, awesome 👍 job and the best portrayal I've ever seen. The entire cast was simply awesome.
