I just found this channel tonight and have been watching for hours.. Truly magnificent properties and amazing history. Love it!!! I have to add, that you make the tours so enjoyable. You are funny, endearing, and very good at what you do. Your excitement and enthusiasm are very sweet and so much better than a pompous know it all. I find myself smiling and laughing. Just terrific! I've decided not watch too many because I want them to last. Please don't stop with the umm's and the breathing the quirky camera comments.. God forbid you become like all the rest...Boring...

The umms, hesitations, deviations, huffings and puffings, random tangents and “Oh God!” sighs/exclamations are all very vital ingredients in your videos. They add a very spontaneous and naturally entertaining air of originality. Change nothing! This property would be an amazing venue for chamber music! Yes, Italy...amazing! 12:49 🤣
My thoughts exactly. Chamber music concerts. Perhaps some open air ones as well if an area was created for it, with the stone wall behind lit up in the summer evening.
With some networking in the area for extra bedrooms for musicians when needed and busses to pick up the guests in the nearest town.
I imagine the acoustics are lovely in the churchroom with an audience present.
I wonder if it's sold, and didn't pick up on the asking price....

Nick Excelent your work, congrats. A maizing property indeed. The tower is similar to the same tower that you show in the property who was a castle in ruins. In that case was in the uper of a hill with a good view of the landscape, so it was a main fortification. But this property is hidden betwen hills, so it was a garrison in a line of fortifications. No necesary a relation with the other one. I can´t see the sun, but I presume that de church or Chapel do not point to the East, patern for the churchs in those time. So probably was the great hall first, letar a church, may be 14th or 15th century. Anyway, thank you, so imteresting

May I assume the internet connection is achieved via satellite and not a direct cable? I would imagine the latter would be cost prohibitive given the distance from a major town or even substation?
Hi Mary, The internet used to be dreadful and satellite was hugely expensive. However, we now we have internet repeaters everywhere. We run our entire office from one on the roof. Apart from an odd day, when we have a huge thunderstorm, it’s perfect, 30mb and costs €40 per month.

Hey Mr.. Nick--I agree with a previous commenter that this is the best one so far. Out of curiosity, is there any limit to the number of people who can be placed on a mortgage in Italy? I figure since most of us who watch your videos will never on God's green earth be able to afford one of these estates, perhaps your viewership could all chip in and sort of set up a 'Go Fund Me" account and all take part ownership of the house. Yes, the logistics of the legal bit would be daunting, but these houses are big enough to accommodate a large number of people. Party in Umbria; who's with me?

Love your videos. But why don't you ever mention the price of the property. And just as importantly, the property's connection to electric and the internet' is water from a well or municipal and what is the pressure, and is a municipal gas hook-up available. What about sewage, or is that a cespool. All these connect-up features are very important to people interested in buying an Italian property, but not wanting to "rough it" llke in a wilderness. This Santa Giuliana is a beautiful property, buy why no showing the tower and its interior? Thank you. And I really don't mind your "uuum-ing" or huffing and puffing and you hoof around properties and up and down stairs.. It just adds the to the unedited and un-scripted filming of the properties. I love this Santa Giuliana property. Price and particulars, please.

Sinceramente considero uno scempio che i luoghi di culto e storia Cattolici siano venduti dalla Chiesa a privati. Sono costati l'offerta e il lavoro a tanta povera gente che in passato pur avendo poco ha contribuito con cuore e sudore alla loro opera per amore a Gesù. I monaci che vi vissero lavorarono e diedero lavoro al territorio circostante e contribuirono alla cura del territorio non meno di quello alle anime. Ora queste strutture che fanno parte della nostra storia in mano a privati vengono snaturate della loro funzione originale e della possibilità di un ritorno futuro all'origine per cui sono state costruite. Questo è da attribuirsi certamente alla secolarizzazione che ha dissacrato il vivere dell'uomo e lo ha allontanato da Dio operando una frattura tra le vecchie generazioni e le nuove si che la trasmissione della fede non più vissuta nel quotidiano non ha creato quel terreno che un tempo naturalmente faceva fiorire le vocazioni. Ciò che a me fa male, e fa piangere il cuore, è il vedere che la Chiesa che tutto ha ricevuto dalla gente, invece di custodire gelosamente queste strutture e di adibirle a luoghi di incontro e di preghiera, o di affidarle a chi ne conserverebbe l'uso originale, preferisce svenderle togliendo al territorio un bene che di fatto gli appartiene.
Io se avessi trovato un Vescovo che mi avesse affidato un posto così vi avrei condotto una vita di preghiera e avrei dato questa opportunità a tutte le persone che ricercano Dio e la vita nello Spirito.
Ma ahimè questo è il segno tangibile del degrado che la Chiesa,(in termini spirituali), ha raggiunto.
