Another great video. Traveling alone will always get you the best deal. Flexibility is key for getting the max out of any travel. Unfortunately most folks are not retired and have to adjust to other folks demands.
Great video Adam! When I was younger and only ever did road trips, cashback made the most sense. As soon as I started looking into international flights, the points and miles thing was the new path forward.
I want to Pair up my Hilton Amex Card with the Pen Fed Pathfinders card and with the American Airlines rewards program. With those two cards and the one Airline rewards program I should be ok with no annual fees!
I think the flexibility and traveling alone points are so important and often overlooked. I tend to travel for holidays, sporting events, family events, etc. and I'm rarely alone. That means I rarely get to dictate the dates or destinations. Another one I would add is are you located somewhere with a lot of flight options? My home airport is very small and only has flights to a few destinations. That seems to have a big impact on my ability to redeem for good value. I like my Venture X for the lounge access but I'm mostly team cash back after years of unsuccessfully trying to play the travel rewards game.
I easily got $2000+ worth of value out of my Hilton Amex Aspire card this year. Between free night certs, Hilton elite benefits, flight and hotel credits, Amex offers this card is much more valuable to me than cash back. Then again I do travel about every 6 weeks, usually internationally and always stay at Hilton so this may be perfect for me but not for everyone.
I like the travel rewards. Thats helped me out before a lot. As for which type i do go against the grain and I like the no AF travel cards. This way i never have to worry about downgrading and also i dont have a lot of spend.

I get super excited when I get notified for your vids.
Thanks, I really appreciate you saying that!
Hotel cards I prefer more than travel. I always get positive expected value with the free nights despite annual fees. ❤

Great content as always, thanks Adam!!!
Everyone's mileage varies depending on your patterns. I love the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Capital One Venture X.

Good points, home airport is definitely important!
My free Fidelity visa just added the global entry/tsa precheck credit. Saved $95 lol
Nice! im super interested in getting that card myself. Did you get it first try?
@ yep. Got a measly $500 cl but I don’t care about that. I think there is a $200 intro promo as well

I’m a low spender and I never travel. Cash back for me.

No not really.
