This set saved my bacon on the fan control module connector on my VW. I think it had been probed too many times and the wire corroded off right at the connector. New VW repair wire and the right tool got the fans and A/C working again.
Season 2 of the FRM with an updated intro... FRM is one of my favorite shows on UA-cam. I think almost all of that specialty electronic stuff is all re-branded chinese tools. Which if you think about it, that is where most all of the electrical/electronic components come from. So it kinda makes sense that’s where the tool to replace/repair would come from.
Nothing gets more jacked up then this I find tons of repin jobs that go south and out goes the super glue, silicone, home made wedges to hold wire in just long enough to get it out the shop No not a little of bit of an art ,its a tons of skill GENTLE is the key word here and patietince something flat rate guys dont have GET IT IN GET IT OUT and boom then comes the hack job
You can get a set of 12 or 13 keys for terminal release for under 20 bucks as an alternative the don’t have huge handles like the ones you show. I think you hit the nail on the head half the battle is figuring out how to get this stuff apart with out trashing or breaking them. Great short vid thanks always look forward to tool reviews and vids from you. I think you give true and honest strait forward reviews and advice.
Thanks for video happy because build three trucks and all need wire work and two need big wire work. But sad because spending 25 on some wire terminal removal. But got dig in save once again. I might not made it, but wanted trucks back.
I use the Lisle set, works pretty well but thinking of upgrading to a nicer set. On the GM comment, did a set of front mag-ride struts on a 16 suburban last week. The new struts had 2 wires with pins and no connector.....so I guess that's the new normal for the general?
Great video thanks brother. I believe you all have it made. I never had the luxury of the kit back in the day. Just had to do your best with what you could get to work. Just like the connector crimping tool out today we used what we could and hope for the best. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother.
Can you do i video on repinning connectors please im just starting to get into more heavy electrical diagnostic work and repair i can do most of it but i dont know how to properly repin connectors but i know its definitely a skill thats great to have once again awesome video and i look forward to the next one :)
So, let me ask this question; Does this kit list what connectors it works for, and which tool works on that particular connector?; Answer; Probably not, and this is why I feel like most of these terminal release tool makers are sham artists. How can it be so difficult in 2021 for a tool maker to tell you what his 'specialty' release tools work on instead of making the claim; All or Most.... : )
Congratulations Michael on 10,000 subscribers. That’s so awesome a lot of doors are going open up now👍🏻
Thanks Brian!

I would love to see a video of you using the tool.

I bought a set many years ago, not as big as your set and still brand new in the box. When the time comes to need them they will be there,
Thank you sir. & from where you get the pins where you buy pins & teminals??? Thank you again good video.

Thanks for the video FRM.
So what you are saying. That just ripping out the wires and wire Nutting them together is not the wright way?
I have this kit works well for me saves my butt tons of times @FlatRateMaster
I’ve the same kit but never used it even a single day. I work on off road equipment which uses Deutsch connectors

Thanks it was informative, but how about a couple of demonstrations to follow up? Best wishes!
Is there a kit to unlatch the stupid ford electrical connectors, preferably without breaking them? If thats even possable !
Good , honest review imo, I'm going to guess this is not the kit to use on my
Harley Electra Glide connectors, coverts all, or.. ?
Love your new theme music
😎👍🏼 Flat Rate Master PS I Use a Ground Down Pocket Screwdriver most of the Time 😊
I need to pick up a set of those, great video as always.
Congratulations on 10,000 suscribers you are going places FRM. And as usual GREAT video and keep them coming.
Congrats on 10K ! and the new intro was cool too, keep up the great work!!
Thanks! Mike
It is better to show their use in the work and not just advertised !
Excellent video, them terminal tools look pretty good ,I need a new set my self !!!!
Wow!
Did not know those tools existed
Thanks
FRM!!
Gm in service information is starting to add videos to show how to unlock and depin connectors. A 15 second clip saves about 3 hours time.
Great video! You have a favorite terminal crimping tool? Or a good quality one?
Hey FRM CONGRATS (!) on the 10K Subscribers! FANTASTIC videos!
Good information for those you could use this tool set. And congrats on 10,000 subs.
Thanks Wyatt!
Congrats on the 10K!! And I enjoy the new intro!
Could they make pins any smaller... I’m old and cant see shit!!!
As always helpful and informative!
Thank u. Will look in to getting a kit
Congrats on 10K!
How’s things going with the trim for the side locker?
I played Englebert Humperdinck's "Please release Me" while watching this video.
If you need to reuse the connector, praying is required😉

Does this kit do most of the connectors on gm vehicles
Yes covers gm well
The kit I used today did not even list GM. It listed everything but. I ended up using one out of it on a Tahoe plug
It's one of those things that everyone talks about, but I've just not had to ever do it yet. I guess I am special.
Have a co worker that is stubborn an insists on using paperclips with terrible results.
Congrats on 10k!
Some demos would be nice, please
Oncce the connector is broken you need to splice in a new conncetor anyway. Where the hell you gonna find pins?
My Kit is Matco. But Identical to yours
Nothing worse than breaking a connector trying to get a pin out... because you didn't have a tool to release it! =(
Yeah, it sucks, even worse on a friday and no on has a replacement
Serve it up!!!
I Agree the New Into Music is Awesome 😀👍🏼
Lol like Kieth 😅
The cheap one I got sucks, way too big to do anything with. Don't cheap out with this stuff
Show us how they work! All you gave us is a sales pitch.
23pcs Universal Terminal Connector Release Tool Kit Extractor Plug Type Connect
I can't believe it. Matco is selling that same kit for $295. They are identical. What a ripoff they are. Performance is $79.
I'm lucky I don't have to do that crap
So, let me ask this question;
Does this kit list what connectors it works for, and which tool works on
that particular connector?;
Answer;
Probably not, and this is why I feel like most of these terminal release tool
makers are sham artists.
How can it be so difficult in 2021 for a tool maker to tell you what his 'specialty'
release tools work on instead of making the claim; All or Most....
: )
U didn't show us how they work! Fail! Lol
Thought is was going to show how to use it 👎
