Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
Thank you for this information. I’m a technician and need this badly. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I had no idea this was a thing. Very cool
Thank you. I was just looking at these. Doing electrical on my vehicle right now.
Here is how I was able to do it :
The pin locks are NOT like a spring that needs to be compressed at both sides at once, but MORE LIKE needing to bend both locks and REMAIN bent/flush with the pin so it slides out.
- Pushing both pins at once didn't work without crushing the connector or pin inside
- Used just the smallest single one that I have (at 2:36)
- Push cable/pin forward so it is not locked in it's slot
- Slide the single sided tool on one side in order to bend the pin lock inwards and make the pin slide-able.
- The same for other side, push cable forward, slide tool to bent the locking and make pin slide out.
Then of course you need to expand them again in order to lock in the connector again.
Use the cylinder one they go metal terminal goes inside the tube and it should just pop out
I'm here trying to figure out how to remove wires from my pinball machine's harness. This is extremely similar. Thanks!
Hi. I’m new to your channel and love it for my new 99 986. This video made me curious how you might organize all your tools…
+Eric Roberts glad you’re liking it! I have a garage build playlist that eventually I’ll do a recap video on where it stands 😁
How do you use the tool for different connectors?
I did the same thing and happy I did turns out my dodge uses connections in the door jam. Happy I bought it early
I have some 2.8 wire terminal connectors and the pins are brass. But, on my ebike they are silver or aluminum colored. Can I match them together ?
+Anio I’m no expert here, but seems if they were both meant to conduct electricity then they should work, but maybe someone else will chime in here
You should have tried to use the small pipe keys and insert all the way in till you can’t no more then pull the wire
You were suppose to use one of the round ones on that type
+Karma yes, someone else mentioned that I think. It was my first time. Thanks for the correction!
Is there a pliers tool that will just unplug the connector ? Thanks for the pin video as well.
+Dan Brown not that I’m aware of but maybe someone else knows of something. You’re welcome! Hope you’re a subscriber now 😉
The clear connector with round connectors you need to use a round tube tool
Not gonna lie, I just used a juice-box straw and it worked on an old car deck I had in storage. Can it be that easy?
best tool set ever, right now i just keep them in a ziplock bag lol would like a better way to store them, anyone have suggestions?
@@HelpMeDIY same I took it off I wish there was like a plastic case or something that could fit them
Did you find the right tool in the set to work on this connector, which one was it , if so?
Love the video. Have the same tools, but I cant find any video that uses the connectors I have. Ive tried every possible tool in this set, and cant remove a single wire. HELP. hahaha. Ive tried a number of different connectors, and still after months, I havent managed to remove a single cable. :(
+willyfox69 thanks! Yeah I guess that’s why there are so many pieces of the tool, the connectors seem never ending 😑
I think it would have been easier using one of the barrel shape tool to pull out this terminals.
might be easier if you took the tools off the ring than struggling with the other 15-20 on it?
Now I know to avoid this tool set, my Harley manual shows a disk with only four
different tools on it, that may actually be the tool I need. I've watched a bunch of videos
on terminal release/removal, and so far , most of the presenters are using needles
and pins, of which everyone has. Would be awesome to find a video where someone
has the right tool set to cover most of the common automotive connectors.
I'm already pretty good at wiggling things back and forth for 20 mins until I get
the job done, would prefer to find the right tool set for releasing connector pins
correctly and easily.
These look pretty handy for the price. For how cheap they are worth having.
What if the connector isn't clear and we don't know where the locks are ,,thanks for showing
Useful to know. I've removed one of these before, was a massive pain in the arse. Figured I'd watch this video and see how he does it. Yup, it also involves a massive pain in the arse.
it came with different sizes and slightly different tools for a reason. Find the right one for the job at hand. Good video overall though
That looked way harder than it should have been. Do you still like them?
+Yogi's Garage I agree. Haven’t had to use them again yet but glad I have them!
Ditto, it might be as someone mentioned, that the round ones are the ones
for this type of connector, could be..
@@HelpMeDIY Thanks man,
by now I've watched a lot of these
release tools, funny thing is ,
the tool makers don't tell you the
connectors they work on , nor
which tool to use for which style,
they just tell you 'all, or most' , lol...
@@bikersoncall I know! You’d think they would be more helpful, but it’s up to us to trial and error them 🤷♂️
I bought a kit like that to use the tube-like tools to extract some connectors and unfortunately it immediately broke. The metal used is too weak IMO.
Help Me DIY Yeah-unfortunately it always breaks when you need it the most 😂
Viktor Klang well mine worked without breaking 1 of 1 times so far at least lol
@@HelpMeDIY Good initial stats! :)
The cylindrical ones are plated, they aren't really steel but some other, weaker, metal :(
Needle pins
40 min per wire , 5 wire connector
okay this is one way to do it but i see its a molex conector molex the brand has his own tools just type molex removal tool and you get the pin out without destroying it
It's not supposed to be that difficult. Use the correct tool and it will come right out with little to no effort. If you find yourself struggling, you have the wrong tool.
But if youve not used them before you dont know what is the correct tool.its why many people are watching this type of video in the first place to gain the knowledge that ypu clearly already possess......you nerd tp be fsirer to people who have not yet learned.
My dog chewed through the electric seat wiring harness in my Merc. This video helped me repair the wiring without splicing. Thanks
+@user-rc1ke1ef3t great! 🍻
