- I made this in 5 hours and I think I needed to get it out of my system lol.
Also, one of my friends brought this up when I shared it, so I'll just acknowledge it here. my point is not "poor me, only 6.5 million views in a month" cause that'd be complete insanity to complain about. My point is "I pull off 6.5 million and UA-cam is berating me for it cause "that's not good enough?". Which I think is a little more reasonable to have an issue with.

This is a genuine work of art. Even as the animation degraded and simplified, it was still done very skillfully and cleverly, which only enhanced the joke.

@@allistertheeldritchmemegod3537 1.3 million views on a video is startlingly low for someone with 1.2 million subscribers, youtube's algorithm is penalizing him for not churning out content, I have enough animator friends to know this takes a lot more than 60 seconds per day and that it doesn't pay as much as it should, and "sick and sad" means being sick with something and (I'm assuming from context) struggling with depression, both of which are very serious and not to be taken lightly. I have suffered from depression and know well that it makes it incredibly difficult to live your life, get work done, or find a reason to wake up in the morning. Yes, I agree that having a following as big as his on any platform, especially this one, makes him incredibly fortunate, especially if he can do this as a career, because it is easier, less time consuming, and more profitable than a lot of people in worse situations than his. That does not mean the problems he faces as a person do not stop existing because other people have bigger problems. If that were the case, exactly one person on the planet, in the worst place financially and mentally and societally and whatever else, has a right to not like having problems, and everyone else has life sucking them off and just needs some perspective. He has every right to be upset when bad things are happening to him unfairly; everybody does. Please find something better to do with your time than shit talk people on the internet simultaneously going through physical, mental, and economic struggles for reasons largely out of their control. Like working in a soup kitchen.

My favorite part about this is that it was posted just two days after youtube put Swoozie in the spotlight for being able to regularly pump out 10 minute long "animations" and make the platform lots of ad revenue after 2012 when youtube killed off all the high quality animation on the site because the videos weren't long enough.
This was an incredible and moving piece of art that needs to be passed down from generation to generation
I imagine the sticky notes actually took longer to hang up, photograph, import and video edit than the normal animation

I like how the last split second of this video is just the two stickynote photos looped for six frames, reducing the animation to little more than a technicality. Including the page-turning finger to emphasize the sloppy/rushed job is a funny touch.

This is why it's so important to subscribe to your beloved content creator's patreon accounts. The cutthroat way UA-cam treats the very people that keep it alive is harmful; and lots of times the only reliable way for creators to survive and not have to choose between eating for the week or paying rent is through the love and supportive donations made by their fans, who in turn get to see more content as well as exclusive content you dont normally get to see. It gives creators freedom to make the content THEY want to make AND take as much time as they need without working like slaves

Oh, it gets worse. I've been noticing lately that when I watch something, YT recommends me other creators making similar content, but rarely loops me back around to the same person. No need to get folks invested in a single channel when the sheer volume of content getting posted on the site could outpace any crunch-induced low-effort format any day.
