Hi Eddie, I want to thank you for your video lesson. You truly have a gift for teaching. I tried everything possible to understand how to get the entire LG ThinQ ecosystem working with HomeKit. I watched every video available in Brazil, and there’s no content on LG. I even contacted LG Brazil’s support, and they informed me that this integration with Apple wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to your video, I finally managed it. I followed your step-by-step instructions, and after binge-watching your channel, I achieved even more than I was looking for. I’m incredibly grateful, and may God bless you and your family.
Appreciate the feedback and kind words. It Made my day ... Glad to have helped ... Saude !

What's the technical term for the icons you have showing the faucet and remaining time? I'm trying to pass through my washer information from Home Assistant and create a virtual setup like yours at 8:43. Thank you!
I have been using this plugin for a long time with no issues at all. I only have a fridge that supports ThinQ. Until your video, I didn't realize I could actually control the temperatures - maybe that was added later! I can turn the Power Ice feature on and off, which I have used from the Home app. Maybe my next washer will have Wi-Fi; my 2003 LG appliances don't :)
Thank you for video. Can I turn on the washing machine in homehit? For example, I put laundry in the washing machine, go to work and halfway through work I turn on the washing machine and I know that it will finish just when I come back from work
Hi bro i need to know before I buy the lg air conditioner and lg fan can i connect them directly to apple home app without using external device and thanks ❤
Hi Eddie, I'm from the south of Brazil I'm very grateful for sharing your knowledge about HomeKit. I've been looking for content for months that will help me bring LG Thing products into HomeKit. I saw that you used a Raspberry Pi, but I don't know anything about programming. Can you tell me if I could install HomeBridge inside the iHost Sonoff 4GB or do you recommend I buy the Raspberry Pi? If so, which Raspberry Pi? The 5? Thank you for your attention.
Appreciate the feedback. Yes you can install the Homebridge plugin using the same iHost device. I also double checked the website and it says there is a homebridge plugin available. There's no need to purchase an additional pi
@@eddiedsuza the problem that i have is that wen i try to pass it to homekit it apears as a switch, i´ve been strugling with puting it like you did it and trying to receive notifications on homekit
Hey Love ur videos I recently got a Lg ac that supports thinq and I want to connect it to apple home app But I only have an iPhone Can u please tell me how to connect it using the phone 🥹
I set up this plugin with my LG washer and dryer similarly a few weeks ago and love it. One thing I noticed is that the washer & dryer program time remaining are shown in the Home app in the device's toggle switch but apparently not made available to Siri, even though they are exposed to the Shortcuts app. Long story short, I've had to set up an Apple/Siri shortcut to guide Siri to answer me how much time is left in the washer - and then built similar shortcuts for the dryer and the dishwasher (a non-LG model). It works well but it's not the most elegant solution since now I need to maintain the shortcuts separately for each family member... Have you found a way to accomplish that without using a shortcut?
Loved the feedback and your use case. No I don’t have any Siri Shortcuts enabled. The Google home announcement and the notifications does the trick for now.
Hello from Brazil! I have a question for you, In case I'm willing to control my devices only using the Homekit app instead of voice commands can I skip the homepod? Also, have you found any switch to control curtains that natively supports homekit?
Hey Wallace - Yes you can control the devices using the apple home app as long as you are on the same network. Once you leave your home - you will need a HomePod mini or HomePod or an Apple TV to connect with your devices remotely as well as build / ran automations. I haven't found any homekit switches that supports / control curtains
And the same with the microwave. I see you don't have an microwave but maybe you know, I put the pizza in the microwave and go to work, when I come back from work I turn on the microwave and when I get home I have a hot pizza ready

Great to hear that and yes it works well. The developers really put in some effort to make it all seem that the appliances are working locally.

Unfortunately, you cannot control the washing machine.

You'll need to have homebridge working to expose the LG devices to HomeKit
5:15 I am unable to download and install the plugin homebridge-lg-thinq on my mac(invalid version error)
Can you check if Homebridge & node are updated to the latest version. Check the dashboard to know more
Going to try this immediately. Thanks fam!
Hope you enjoy ! cheers

You'll need to have homebridge running locally on your network. Please check the description = I have left links to HB installation videos
Hi, thanks for the video. Anyway, if I have HomePod mini on my room, do I still have to use homebridge to be able to use Apple HomeKit for the LG AC?
