I think when it comes to UCLA the commentators should seriously just stop guessing and literally read the names as the girls step up lol. Just watching gymnastics over the years it really seems to really trigger Kathy when the gymnast/coach does something they didn’t talk about previously.😆 The other commentators are better at going with the flow
Well hello there! Actually, as always we, the announcers, are given a competition line-up so we "can just read the names as they come up" and we are also notified as quickly as possible by the coaches or SID rushing over to our announce table or through our spotter at the vault judge's table when they make a line-up change prior to the start of the event. When issues arise in final touch warm up and a change is made or someone vaults before the judge signals them it is a guessing game. When we have a floor reporter they can listen in and get the storyline quickly, otherwise we have to notify our listeners to the possibilities of what is happening. Or we could have gone to a commercial break and missed her vault altogether to save you from listening to us figure it out in real time. That is the nature of live television.
Her chest was down clearly and she was over rotated but under rotated which causes the hop. Over rotation would not cause that kind of hop but a step backwards to stop the rotation.
K Williams no it was not! pause right when her feet hit the mat it's around 3:09. your chest is considered "down" when your chest is lower than your hips and that's clearly not what she did. her chest is around 20 or 30%
Her smile though
0:47 i love how in the back her teammate turned her around and gave her a pep talk
Flatley's a Bruin! yay! I followed her as a junior, so many good gymnasts go to UCLA

this was a random rarity that never happens as they didnt know what was going on

@@kathyjohnsonclarkeoly2710 wow are you like Kathy I mean the Olympian? 🇵🇹🇵🇹
3:04 is what u came here for
Thanks
What was the judge doing in the beginning? Why were they arguing?
Why did they switch so much?
DM-audioswaps it’s classic UCLA. They switch it up based on who looks good in warm up. They will literally change it at the last second.
She’s very happy
the fact that she is from my home state is amazing
I NEED TO KNOW THE SECOND SONG PLAYING THE BACKGROUND HERE
Nick Jonas - levels
😍😍😘
Clearly not scored properly... way too generous with a 9.75
College gymnastics is a lot more lenient with their scoring
👍👍👍
um her chest was not down wtfff
She piked down a tiny bit and that made her overrotate a little, resulting in the hop

Mustaches May yeah but her chest was not down at all

K Williams if she was underrated then she would’ve stepped forward... overrotation basically means too much power, leading to the hop she took
I see Kaitlin ohashi at 2:29 in the left middle
Ana Mata Yeah, she’s on the same team.
Mimi Fletcher well I do
Lol..ya and Kayla ross and other Teammates..duh..
Um yeah... they’re on the same team
Why does Val keep licking her lips
Omg please retire Kathy johnson!
