Yeah but he has no problem with people taking Steroids and still going in hall of fame. What did Aaron cheat at to be ok with present players cheating the game? It doesn’t make sense to hear a hall of famer not having a problem with other player cheating the game.
@MANCHESTER UNITED The most important sport in the world is that which is important in the USA! Period! "Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, you're on the air. Go ahead please."
@M Try again. There are 195 countries in the world, not 240. Baseball is popular in 100 of the 195. BTW, if you're counting Palestine as a country, you're wrong because it isn't.
@M - what the fugg does the popularity or unpopularity of soccer have to do with this Hank Aaron clip and the original comment that was made, under which you chose to post this soccer bull? Soccer will never be #1 in the USA and soccer will never overtake baseball in popularity in the USA. Neither of those will ever happen. Now, put that in your soccer shoe and kick yourself with it.
He is such a kind man. It's gonna be a very, very sad day for America when Henry Aaron is gone. He approached the game, and life, with dignity and grace. 2 best players of all time - Hank Aaron and Willie Mays.
Sorry Willie Mays played in a bigger media town and had more publicity. He was good but others were better. The Hammer will always be number 1 in my opinion.
Thank you so much for sharing the special moments with such a classy and special person on and off the field. So much to learn from such a wonderful man. God bless from Patrick
M. L. Have you read his autobiography, “I Had A Hammer”? Unbelievable the amount of stuff not only he had to deal with, but his wife, children, and parents as well. The fact that he didn’t completely fold and fade shows his true character and grit.
And he never complained or gave credence to the hate. I'm sure it was painful for him and his family, but he didn't let it affect his job. He was a true gentlemen and the game is better for having him in it.
When I was a kid I idolized him because of what he could do on the field. After I grew up, read his book, watched interviews, I idolized him as a human being. He is funny, charming, and he is just classy.
I had the honor of meeting Mr. Aaron and he was nothing but class. He didn't seem like a larger than life figure, even though he was, because he would speak to you as if you were a friend. It was like a dream standing in the same room as him.
Henry Louis Aaron (February 5, 1934 - January 22, 2021), My condolences to all of his friends and family. He was the recipient of death threats and a large assortment of hate mail during the 1973-1974 offseason from people who did not want to see Aaron break Ruth's nearly sacrosanct home run record. The threats extended to those providing positive press coverage of Aaron. WIKi
My wife and I only stay typically 4 or 5 innings on most inconsequential games. They do linger. Now at Fenway, the 8th for Sweet Caroline .. so good, so good, so good.

A class act and a true gentleman who displayed nothing but elequence and grace even during a time when most of white America wanted him to fail. As a 50 plus year fan Mr. Aaron you are one of my idols. Thank you.
What a classy, humble, good natured man the great Henry Aaron was. I wish more professional athletes today were like him. Today if someone hits a home run, they’re all puffed up, braggadocious and arrogant. Take a life lesson from Hammerin’ Hank.
A great American , a man of class. I met Hank once , he spoke at my Company s meeting. He told me Curt Simmons was the toughest Pitcher he faced not Gibson, Koufax or Marichal. Simmons was a soft tossing left hander.
Why the hell do they leave out the part where Hank says Mickey Mantle would have been the greatest had he not got hurt so much? Come on man, I saw the particular show. MICKEY MANTLES' BIGGEST FAN.
They can both thank God Mickey didn't take care of himself and, got hurt too much. Mays himself admitted Mickey had more power and speed than him, that he thought he could do some things better than Mickey. But still the ham Mays didn't mention that Mickey had 15 operations all over his body by the time he called it quits and, he[Mays[ was mostly heatlhy. Mickry even grounded into fewer double plays and, ended up with a higher base stealing pct 80pct to 77 pct though Mickey had 7 operations on both knees. You gotta be kidding, Mantle was beyound anybody. Gee how funny how they left out when Hank Mickey was better than he and, Mays. It stinks. Get real man! MICKEY MANTLES' BIGGEST FAN.
Stephen Mantle had more physical talent than any baseball player who ever lived. It wasn't his injuries or lifestyle that prevented him from reaching Aaron and May's numbers, it was his strikeouts. He cuts his career strikeouts in half and his numbers blow right past Hank or Willie or anyone else of his era.
@@teddylopez509ok, mickey mantle is the better player we get it. You've said this several times already in different replies. Get some counseling for this, man.

Imagine if Aaron, Mays and Ted Williams took juice like Bond?! Aaron would've came close to hitting 1,000 HRs, same with Mays. Williams would've had a few more .400 seasons after he was the last man to hit .400. Three greatest hitters of all-time (post 1940): I have a three way tie between Mays, Aaron and Ted Williams.

There was big-league ball. Then the fireworks afterward with that sport. Then there was Henry Aaron's 715th home run blast--and imagine the fireworks over Fulton County stadium being so loud on that April 8 1974 milestone, you think the shock waves from the explosive concussions in the air can go as far as Chicago, where Comiskey Park was, that had its fireworks too. Ha ha ha ha! Just kidding!
Henry Aaron played over 20 seasons in the big leagues and never once struck out 100 times. You could count him to play every single game, bat .300 with 40 home runs and knock in 100 runs every single year, and you knew he was going to field his position. He doesn't get hardly any credit as a fielder because he wasn't as flashy as Willie Mays or Roberto Clemente, but he played Right Field with speed and range and a strong, accurate throwing arm - he actually finished his career with more outfield assists than the great Willie Mays in roughly the same amount of games. Consistent, durable, reliable, and clutch - I would argue that he, and not Mays, was the MVP of his era and maybe of all-time. Also, I've read his book "I had a Hammer" which I would recommend anyone to read, sports fan or not sports fan. In it, there are some of the letters he received, and let me tell you it's a fucking tragedy and an embarrassment and I can also say that no player, not Bonds, not Roger Maris, has been under the kind of pressure that he faced except possibly the great Jackie Robinson.
From a pure fan PoV I always point out the speed with which his homeruns and hits travelled off the bat. I've still never seen anyone who could match it. His bat speed was unbelievable
Stooge did they add 800 more games just for Aaron or did Aaron's body just hold up longer than Ruth's? Stop with the nonsense he played longer and hit more home runs, so get over it.
