Dax encouraging Ian to step out of his comfort zone but accepting a hard NO was actually really sweet.
Thats a good sign that there is someone with a half decent brain trapped inside this guy.
This is what happens to a person when their parent doesn't guide them in any meaningful way and neglects their duties to educate their child. This man has severe arrested development, that's the only reason he acts weird, but nobody understands why. Take it from someone who has gone through it to a MUCH lesser degree.
You don't act awkward like that when you have a normal upbringing, he doesn't even know how fucked up his childhood probably was because he's been brainwashed into thinking this is normal. Now he embraces his anti social disorder for views, which in my opinion is a horrible, shrill way of living, stop encouraging his stupid behavior.
He could claim it's all an act one day, but that's only part of the truth. Now he's purposefully turned himself into a spectacle for idiots to gawk and awe at, it's all disgusting, greedy, nonsense.

The housekeeper lady just going to work one day and ending up on a game show pilot is the most LA thing I’ve heard in a while. Dax seems to pull good, authentic people into his orbit. I feel like part of the “act” is his screening process for friends.

it's crazy, when it's generic, walking up to someone on the street for something you need is easy enough, but when it's asking multiple people for something 99/100 people will say no to, it's like learning to swim in the middle of the ocean for some reason. A whole other type of terrifying.
I thought he wasn't embarrassed of doing anything from what I've seen him do in vids. It was nice to see though that he's just a normal guy.

Dax’s recent work with Joel Haver in the last year or so has been absolutely amazing. I’m sooo happy to see this enigma back and at it on UA-cam. I do think he’s a genius, not just an awkward guy.

The og Smosh crew's takes on Dax were incredibly intriguing. If I had only seen his videos in a vacuum I would think he was just a brilliant actor. But I've come away thinking that he's just being himself, but also has enough self awareness to embrace and amplify his natural personality.

Dax radiates charisma. It doesn't matter how you look at him, he is so genuine that you will feel drawn to him and appreciate his approach to things in life. His speech is very gentle and he didn't put pressure on either of the contestants during the show. It was awesome.

Think of it this way you could have an elaborate game show but it will live and die on the people involved, if the presenter and contestants really get involved and give it their all its likely to be fun to watch. If the presenter and contestants come in disinterested, do the bare minimum or are too serious, it's not going to be particularly fun. It's like the saying life is what you make of it.

The thing that I love about Ian is that he seems to never ask something of someone that he wouldn't ask of himself. He manages to immerse himself in the life of these people without coming off as voyeuristic. He speaks very kindly to people and yet he also respects them enough as human beings to tell them uncomfortable things right to their faces, and I think people appreciate that more than anything else. When you're eccentric, and especially if you manage to gain some kind of fame from your eccentricities, people tend to keep you at arms length for their good or your own. Ian instead treats them like he would any other person, and you can tell that even when he's criticizing someone or something, it touches them.

The smoothie game show reminds me of a child wanting to role play or play a game with his parents, and the parents just have to go along with it and support the child even though the parents don’t fully understand the rules, and the child almost doesn’t either

I just finished crying from laughter after the third question in the trivia. It was so brilliant - the absurdness of a smoothie trivia at all, the contestants not realizing at all what's going on and that question - got me so off guard, I was laughing so hard.
Brett is still an absolute genius, and I'm so happy to see him in the spotlight!

@bob dylaqn I mean I don’t want to be an actor but I could totally see actors like Brett doing anything to get their name out there. It’s extremely hard to do because so many are trying the same. But I’d say he succeeded in a way with this, i mean we know his name and what he looks like and are talking about him now are we not? I don’t know, I just respect people trying for their dreams. And Brett did more than great being on this game show with the worlds worst host.

I would also watch a smoothie game show, I found myself really enjoying the awkward cooking/minute to win it vibe. I’ve always had a weird interest in odd competition shows and this was something that was quite up my alley. I could definitely see myself subscribing to a show like this especially if it was better produced.
