In the first round, I'm impressed by Rachel's solution. I tried finding 130 without the 7 and couldn't do it.' However, once I gave that up, a couple more solutions occurred to me. The simplest one is: 100 + 75 + 7 = 182 3 + 2 = 5 182 x 5 = 910 And a more complex one is: 75 - 7 = 68 68 x 4 = 272 272 - 2 = 270 270 x 3 = 810 810 + 100 = 910 In the second numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution, but also had this one (it wasn't an exceptionally difficult three-large game): 75 + 8 = 83 100 / 25 = 4 83 x 4 = 332 332 + 3 = 335 In the third numbers round, I beat Rachel to a solution with this: 100 - 25 = 75 5 x 2 = 10 75 - 10 - 8 = 57 57 x 8 = 456 In the final numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution as well, but there was a way of multiplying direct to the target: 8 x 6 = 48 48 - 2 = 46 9 + 4 = 13 46 x 13 = 598 Though it wasn't necessary here, factorization is an all too often overlooked skill on _Countdown_ .

All I could do was 455, but that would have been good enough to beat the two contestants: (100-25) x (8-2) is 450, and add the 5.
I figured out the 3rd one in the 30 seconds easily. Surprised Rachel needed all that extra time for it.
1. (75-4)x(3+7)+(2x100)=910 or (100+4)/2=52+3+75=130x7
2. (25-8+3)x8+100+75=335 or (100+8)x75/25+3+8=335
3. (100-8)x5-8/2=456
4. (6+9)x5x8-2=598
... but still quicker than anybody else! 👏
I did it. I beat Rachel. Unless (100-8)*5 isn’t 460 and 8/2 isn’t 4.
