As an f2p since launch, i recommend f2p players buy the weekly bound legendary crest for 1600 plat( which most f2p dont buy), it helps getting to your pity 5 star gem drop, you can also get lucky and get a 5 star early. I got a 4 star BSJ a few months back by using it
With the recent changes, running alone will take you much more effort after you cap the 120 crested FEs. I capped a bunch of my alts last week, hardly even caring or trying. You get embers from everyone's crests. So if you can tolerate the queue stupidity (The Serenity Prayer is a must), then run in parties for capping FEs faster.

@3dge433 been doing that still, however with the market crash, that needs to be adjusted a little lower. Doubt it will happen, but it should.
@@skyreign True, since min price for 5 star changed from 16000 to 12800, it should drop from 1600 to 1280
