First look at cathedral's hidden heights ahead of public tours

Peering down over the balcony, visitors to the cathedral look like ants as they walk down the aisle, far below and all of a sudden I start to feel dizzy. We're not even halfway up.
I've tagged along for a sneak preview of some of Truro Cathedral's rarely-seen sights from dizzying heights ahead of a new 'Tower Tour' for the general public, which begins later this month. Starting on June 22, people can explore the cathedral roof spaces and ascend the 250ft Victoria Tower to see views across Truro, guided by the knowledgable experts who I have joined for a recce.
With the foundation stones laid in 1880, Truro Cathedral took 30 years to complete and became the first Anglican cathedral to be built on a new site since Salisbury Cathedral in 1220. The building is widely regarded as a triumph of Gothic Revival Architecture and rarely fails to stop visitors in their tracks when they walk through the doors and get their first look at the magnificent interior.
