I remember riding one of these the very first day they were put in service in Berkeley County. It’s so weird seeing them sitting in scrap yards. That MBE was a beast. Merging onto the interstate, that kickdown was like no other. 🙌🏾
I swear I love driving the MBE and now the FS-65 are being graveyard they done got ours back there with the bluebirds I only got the drive it 2 times 🥺
@@kameronstewart8851 When I was a kid in Berkeley County, we had 1984 Carpenter Internationals (until about 2007), 1988 Bluebird S-1700s, 1990 Bluebird 3800s, 1992 Ward Senator FE’s (bought from Kentucky), 1994 Thomas 3800s (special needs) 1995-96 Thomas ER’s, 2001 Thomas ER’s, 2001-03 FS-65s, 2005-08 HDXs, and 2007-2009 C2’s. The 07-09 C2’s were the newest buses we had by the time I left Berkeley County. They also had district-owned 1997 Thomas MVPs that had AC and underfloor storage; they had like three of those and they were beasts.
This used to be my favorite bus.

The new 2021-2022 Thomas C2 buses replaced most of the 2008 Thomas C2 in Richland School Districts 1 and 2.
