If you dislike Tesla so much, why not get a taycan or something comparable? I understand the flaws of Tesla, but doesn't it affect you to make their flaws your focus? I mean, I can understand that Tesla won’t give him free supercharging, and might stop pushing software and firmware updates to his car. But if Tesla update software on YOUR car to deactivate supercharging it would be in a bit of a gray area.

When you need to charge on the road the new super chargers are supposed to do 1000 miles in one hour. A standard model 3 battery is 250miles. Thus taking 15 mins for a full charge. The average person spends around 10 mins at a gas station filling up a normal car. Yet you save a lot more money almost 1/3 the gas price. If someone brings their EV over, would you give them 'free gas'? A fun project for Rich could be making a DC charging trailer he can tow. Sure, they can accelerate quickly which makes them a one trick pony in drag races, but that is the only thing they are good at. That V2 upgrade you are talking about certainly helps, but the majority of Tesla's on the road can't even do a session around a road course without ridiculous brake fade or having the batteries/motors overheating. No legal expert here but perhaps this is slightly different? Louis Rossman hasn't exactly won the battle against Apple, so there is no legal conclusion there. Tesla isn't preventing customers from repairing their own cars, just that they are preventing them from using the Supercharger network. I guess one could think of having the Supercharger network like a subscription - similar to how some manufacturers will give out a year of SiriusXM radio/premium connectivity features etc when you buy their car. My take on this is that Tesla is allowing all owners to have the ability to use the Supercharger network granted that the owners' vehicle hasn't been resold/transferred ownership; the car is still in the original owner's hands.

Tesla is doing it because they want people to buy new cars though, why else would they of killed the recertification program other than it costing them too much? However disabling 3rd party DC fast charging or vehicles that have been recertified is a super dick move. It's kind of like those auctioned Tesla's that had self driving paid for, but then deactivated when the new owner took possession of it, essentially reselling the software to the new owner, instead of it being tied to the car which is totally insane. I couldn't imagine having a manufacturer having that much software control of the thing I rely on so much daily. I'm a power user with my PC and I hate when Windows won't even let me force update drivers, and that's with a totally non-essential piece of tech. Let alone your car. Why are people putting up with this? This is totally a right to repair issue because there's currently no precedent for this and no government regulation for consumer protection

You can buy virtually any part in Teslas Catalog, their body defects were present in the early model 3s, but is basically nonexistent, or no worse than any other company. My brother had major repairs on his model 3 and got it back within 2 weeks, but that still kind of fits in with customer service, and Tesla doesn't own the car, the own the software, similar to how apple owns IOS not.

true ! If Tesla follows suit with Apple they'll change their charge cord every year and then stop making the old ones or make the screen unresponsive, etc., etc., etc.. I have been living with a single mom and she has honestly about 6 apple devices that are useless here for one reason or another. I have no clue why they keep buying apple devices. I guess it's an addiction. And a damaging one at that. imo anyway.
