Glad to have a dub that sticks close to the original story. My only real lament is the loss of the original Voice actors of the 80s. Granted, it’s been Fourty years since then, but still. No offence to the voice actors here, it just sounds like two or three people playing dozens of separate characters to my ears. Maybe I’m just a grumpy old curmudgeon
No race swaps, no uglification, no woke nonsense, this is how you do a remake. Could have been a bit less anime snd more dark graphic novel for my tastes though, but good.
actually there are race and sex swaps were done alot in the 2199 reboot, but they were done well, very well notable one Akira Yamamoto was a a male fighter pilot in the original in 2199 and beyone is a Female accountant turned fighter pilot. plus about 40% of the crew were made female as in the orignal show there was ONE female Yuki Mori on board. so its is woke but not 'WOKE'
Will the ship be properly called the Argo as it should be, or will they stick the overt world war 2 reference in a blatant sjw attempt to rehabilitate the so called "good name" of Japan in order to cover up the fact they started the war and committed atrocities during their prosecution of said war? Will they be sticking with the star blazers names and terminologies? One of the things that made the original was "Desslok , Desslok, Desslok" . Will that still be kept or has some sjw production staffer bitched down the gamilons as I suspect?
I dont think they will change the name of the ship, becouse in Anime is bulit around a wreck of Yamato, and everyone having at least minor knowledge about WWII Warships would propably Recognize Yamato.
Jesus christ, you're whiny. And ignorant. "Yamato" is the name of the ship in the original Japanese, no one "stuck" it in there. If anything, changing the name for the English dub is an act of politically motivated sensitivity, not the other way around. I'm not saying I disagree with doing that - Japanese mythification of their WWII-era military makes me uncomfortable too. But let's call a spade a spade. And I don't know what the hell "sjw" has to do with Japanese attempts to rehabilitate their country's WWII misdeeds. Do you think American liberal-progressive ideology is in support of that? Do you have any evidence of that connection? It's even less clear what "Desslock" has to do with American culture wars. Your complaint there is just incoherent. In short, you shrilly demand that changes to the original be made to cater to your political sensitivities, while saying that keeping the original name is evidence of political oversensitivity, somehow. Whacky. As usual, conservatives are triggered into endless complaining about their culture war obsessions at the least excuse, while, ironically, calling other people whiny and easily triggered.
Actually the ORIGINAL anime was called Space Battleship Yamato. It was westernised to call it the Argo for the English dub. It's not SJW for fuck's sake. 🙄🙄
"Aye aye captain launch yamato now!" My favorite part
Watchlist instantly, my type of anime
Saw this recently. Only show I can say is honestly a remake done right!
i like the trailer
Saludos desde México Tultepec
Realy good anime
Yes about time
I like the old one.
They actually made the impossible:
Not only they pay homage with deep respect for the old one,
but they also make it better removing the cheesy parts
Now they need to have an English dub of Space Battleship Yamato 2205.
es una obra de arte esta serie, ojala hubieran llegado las continuaciones para ver en sudamerica.
tenho quase tudo de Yamato inclusive essa nova versão @piresceiRC
Awesome trailer !!
Please make a English dubbed of Odyssey of the Celestial Ark and A New Journey.
Cool
Interesting.
It's actually pretty good. It's a remake of an anime from the 70's. Season 2 is available in English, it's called star blazers 2202.
@@Hellsing7747 I realized that.
@@Hellsing7747 where is season 2 available at?

Sooo Mad man is a party to Crunchyroll/ funimation.... I regret everything I have ever bought from them and will buy from them no more
So is Derek Wildstar and Nova a married couple in the 2199 series?
No. Because they are called Susumu Kodai and Yuki Mori in the new version.
@@positronicfeed thats their original names
