      It's been a part time job for me to fix my hip asymmetry. It's been 8 years now. I'm making slow progress. I took all the chairs, sofas, and beds out of my house to gain hip flexibility. I'm desperate to fix this. It's hard to focus on life when it feels like one leg is 2 inches shorter than the other.

    Ok so this exercise at 10:04 in the video legit fixed my problem in 10 min. I had had scoliosis for 6 months prior caused by muscle imbalances and tilted pelvis and 6 doctors couldn't help me but this exercise did it. It fixed me and my back is literally straight with no more pain. I can't even believe it but it's true. God bless all of you and I hope one day you won't have any back pain!

    • @LCLadjev
      @LCLadjev 4 місяці тому +1

      How often did you perform the exercises? And did it take 6mos to fully correct?

    • @mvb2683
      @mvb2683 4 місяці тому +4

      @@LCLadjev No, for months i was told to perform other exercises by PTs and doctors that did nothing to help me. Then I tried the test where Conor made the guy lift his legs in the air and found out I have vastly different ranges of motion in my legs and one was very heavily biased towards internal rotation in the hips while the other one was the opposite and was rotated externally. This lead me to believe I had a rotated/tilted/twisted pelvis and my spine wasn't the problem.
      After a bit more research it made perfect sense why my spine had the curvature it did and after only a few MINUTES of doing this exercise mentioned in the video and a bit of postural awareness my back straightened out automatically. The next day I had no pain and my back was visibly much straighter. After only a few days everything was back to normal and I am now 99% pain free.
      Even yesterday I went for a very long walk which I hadn't been able to do for months at this point. I just worked on evening out the internal/external rotation in my hips until I was able to do the leg lift test with pretty even ranges of motion and everything else followed by itself. I also try to be mindful of how I position my feet when I walk and to distribute my weight evenly in the correct places.

    • @mvb2683
      @mvb2683 4 місяці тому +4

      @@LCLadjev for context, I had levoconvex lumbar scoliosis as my pelvis was twisted internally on the right side and externally on the left. My range of motion on the right leg was very big and very limited on the left.
      Most doctors here told me how scoliosis is something you are born with and you can't do anything about it and it will only get worse with time... an actual orthopedist told me my curvature originated in the middle of my spine just because it appeared that way visually. These people are legit stupid and have no idea what they are doing yet they're out there performing surgeries on people and then blame their patients when nothing gets better.
      How was I able to correct everything in a few days by myself with a bit of reserch on the internet after I gave up on listening to doctors?? And they can't do anything even with years of medical education...

    I don't ever usually post comments on UA-cam but I have to say how ecstatic I am finding this channel, I've had two hip surgeries with a 7 year gap (as we found out the first one wasn't a success) before I was 25. All the physio over the years only resulted in minimal satisfaction. The visual demonstration you presented is exactly how I've felt all these years and it's only been a week but I can't believe how much relief I've already experienced. Much respect.

    This channel and E3 Rehab are the 2 best for explaining WHY things are, not just HOW to fix them. This video explains a lot for me personally...I am 61, obese and suffered a right side gluteus medius tendon tear about 10 months ago. Getting doctors to take me seriously and not just chalking it up to 'referred back pain' has been non existant. This would explain why my left trapezius muscle begins to burn and become very painful if I am walking/strolling for an hour. I never realized how important our hip strength was...now my challenge is to try and correct some things before it gets worse.

One thing I noticed is that I was unable to shift on my left no matter how hard I tried. Went to chiro and massage to loosen things up and still couldn’t. Finally out of frustration I tried an SI joint release technique, which unlocked my left side, now I can hip shift with no problem. Hope this helps someone else who may be struggling like I was.

I have been screwing my weight into my left arch all day, and just standing up from that, and it's the most incredible stretch in my left traps, upper left quarter of my body. I guess sometimes our body gets hurt, and we compensate the wrong way. Happened to me when I was young, maybe golf clubs and paper route bags messed my shoulders up? Had to have hip replacement 6 years ago, this year neck then back surgeries. Lots of nerve damage and it's been a hard recovery. Good evening Connor. I've been doing the first set of novice exercises that you give and so far so good. I wanted to ask you about 2 different postures that seemed to activate the same hip muscle as the one that consists in elevating the leg and pushing that you show. These are:
    a) standing with parallel feet and opened and straight legs like doing a split, pushing the tilted side down, it seems to stretch my outter hip muscle
    b) lying down and with slightly opened legs, pushing the tilted side to the contrary foot (elevating the hip)
    I hope you can understand this explanation

    A degenerative disc desease can affect the results of the assessments? What about scoliosis?
    Can you talk about it?, please!

    Love your all your stuff, but could you make a video on a high left hip hike? Really hard to find something for this, everything I can find is for a high right hip. Would really appreciate it, have had pain and hip / back issues for more than 10 years now.

    Mr. Conor Harris I have a cranial sidebend that you described on your website, I think it's because of birth trauma
    How to correct it ?
    I really need your help 🙏🙏🙏
    Plus, I have a chronic disease that I think it's related to my cranial distortion, so I really need your help, maybe it will be a new discovery if I can get better by correcting my cranium 🙏🙏🙏🙏

    13:20. Don't think about hip tilt. Just think about keeping both knees aligned in each exercise.

    With solid background and knowledge about the names and terminology, this video might be a GREAT help. UNFORTUNATELY though not for laypeople, in layman's opinion ;-)) -- Displaying Pictures, graphics etc. for the mentioned PARTS would have been a better option to understand better, easier and deeper. - REALLY: very PITY for the work and time has been spent.

    Hey Connor,
    I can only feel my left leg when doing squats or leg day exercises. Could a misaligned pelvis be the culprit?

    Hi Connor. Your videos really caught my attention recently. And based on all the positive feedback I've been reading, I really trust you expertise on this subject. I suffer from poor posture and I'm very self-conscious about it. My spine has an "s" shape to it. In all my pictures my head/neck is slanted to the right. Is there a specific video (or 2) that you can recommend to help me? I would certainly would appreciate Connor.

      So it sounds like you mean you have scoliosis. In that case you need exercises to help traction and lengthen your spine to lessen the S curves. Also a focus on breathing into the side areas of your trunk where you are shorter/concaved on one side compared to the other. And appropriate core strengthening exercises

    Excercise examples are where left hip is internally rotated and right hip is externally rotated, right? But then right shoulder would not be below left shoulder... please confirm

    I've always thought pelvic tilt is caused by limb length discrepancy, which in turn cam be caused by a multitude of factors including the hip joint, knee joint, ankle joint, and the arch of our feet.

    Hi Conor. I have a question. Isn't both leg raise and hip flexion require the flexion of the hip? Why one makes the femur internally rotate then the other externally? Many thanks for your wonderfull content!

    it would be informative to have a real patient with symptoms, not just a skeleton model, on camera show right or left lateral pelvic tilt (or perhaps two patients with either kind of symptom). x-rays from these patients would be even more helpful. then the patients could demonstrate exercises intended relieve that lateral pelvic tilt and perhaps other manifestations external/internal rotation in the hips, shoulders and feet. if these exercises are effective, i am confident that they would be very grateful.

    Hey Conor, quick question: Due to having lateral pelvic tilt, it affects the way that I sit, so is doing all the progressions in the article to fix it enough while at the same time sitting in a way that makes my lateral pelvic tilt even worse, I feel like it just un-does all the work. Do i need to be conscious about the way that I sit as well or just do the progressions? Great video by the way!

    My right rotated hip with my knee caving in has really ruined my life. I’m so embarrassed of walking that I rarely even go out and it’s come to the point where I’ve asked my job to give me less hours because for 8 hours a day all I think about is how weird I walk and how many people are looking at me weird. This has really worsened my depression and I really don’t wanna be here anymore. I’ve tried so many exercises and stuff and nothing changes. I hate my life

    Conor dear thanks for effort , but your explanation is complicated , you talk about shifting to one side which ends up to hip dis-alinement , but what we should do if we have bowed tibia and as a result hip dis- alinement? Thanks

    Hello Conor, I’ve noticed many imbalances in my body. Is there a simple test to see which is the root cause? I also yawn a lot when trying to breath properly etc

  • @agriskaminskis9352
    @agriskaminskis9352 Рік тому +1

    What if the imbalance in the feet is addressed as a priority? Then muscles would adjust during walking. After all, walking is a very repetitive exercise.
    Feet + neck/head + scapula for proper movement of arms.

      Because I have trouble walking - no rhytm, I require instant fix when I walk.
      I walk smoothly backwards, though. Perplexing. Must be the feet, joints below the ankle.
