Please put an afterburner on it. Just an electric fuel pump that will spray some diesel in the flame coming out the stack. Would love to see the result
Just need to have a spark plug or torch at the smoke exit to ignite the smoke (which basically consists of tons of wood gas) and then find a way to smelt metals in it.
@Job Ruijten oh you can just install a door on the side of the barrel for putting scrap trash and fuel in, but if he's serious with efficiency and wants to take this even further he can make this furnace much smaller using a different fuel (like coal and liquid fuel lines going into it), reflector plaster/brick and proper crucible specifically for smelting serious stuff
Btw I could suggest coating the inside of the barrel with starlight or a bread like material to deal with the heat , you could put that stuff on the surface of the sun or on a blow torch and the heat won't get threw it
To reduce smoke perhaps try adding an airlock system on it? Like ones seen for fermenting liqour, just much larger? Overall much better design. Only way to improve it would be create more turbulence inside and a better air intake system( both of which require far too much effort in my opinion)
Adding pure Oxygen could help shorten the time required to reach the complete combustion phase. Making the Oxygen from electrolysis of water is the only solution as buying Oxygen to refill a tank is overpriced.
Maybe you could put a second ignition to the top so the smoke catches fire sooner. Unless you only burn green matter with too much water in it. Also a taller chimney could move this along. Love doing projects like these.
@Dan Kelly, what I’m saying is he needs to redesign it so it lights from the top and still blows from the bottom and do another video. The problem with the current design is it takes to long for the heat from the bottom to ignite the wood gas and therefore it smokes badly. Tag @Venom Chris
This Is a great self made idea for getting rid of garden waste. So I have a question for you, all the energy produced in the way of heat could you think of a way to harness it rather than letting it go to waste? I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
If you were clever enough, it'd be possible to make a small boiler and steam turbine that would power a blower fan. No external power needed to keep it going once it lit off.
Awesome design.🤔Something to ponder version 5.0 maybe try rapping copper wire around it with the quick disconnect for a garden hose or gravity fed water barrel. Just in case the power goes out and you want to take a hot shower or to boil water🤔. Note watch out for the copper thieves.
To help with the smoke before it gets to temp, you could probably plumb a propane line into your intake pipe in front of the leafblower. Feed it propane for 10-15 swc until its up to temp.
I see a point in this concept if you have a lot to burn... And something that feeds it all the time.... Otherwise it's just for burning the hell out of anything.... And if you have that much to burn you'd be much better off using the shit for heating a house or a pool heater 🤔
No it almost acts like a turbo/sc but chemically cools and condenses air instead. N2O combined with oxygen will allow you to add as much fuel as you need or match the fuel/air in the barrel.
I love how it's a jet engine. I'm curious to see what the sky looks like after you smoke up the place Cheech and Chong style.
Great way to get rid of the mosquitoes
Get those pests out of here with the new jet trashcan
@Ethan Stam and away from you
LOL yea very true.
I feel like this is teaching me something?

You've just made a jet engine with the most inefficient fuel in the world
It'll work on anything combustible tho. Post-apocalyptic problems require post-apocalyptic solutions
* Picture of Dave Chappelle in hazmat suit *
You have no idea how a jet engine works at all lol. Nothing about this barrel is an engine of any sort.
@@stormflis7199 r/woooosh
@@stormflis7199 okay fine its a rocket then.
Put another leafblower thingy on it

@Job Ruijten good idea, then you can melt tin in it or anything you wanna cook

I don't know why that was so satisfying to watch.
*earth moves a little further from sun* every time you do these
Just run it at night. Duh!
For this purpose vertical mode would be preferred considering everything is happening in a vertical motion.
Anyone else see a face appear in the barrel??
That thing is intense bruh! Your tha man!!! 💪🏽😎

It's better to angle pipe a bit, to create vortex directly from the bottom. I guess it'll increase efficiency. Like a car turbocharger
Looks like a frickin' jet afterburner the dang thing!
tinnitus in audio form
Warsaw, we have lift off
Once it gets to flaming out the top, one would think you want to turn off the forging blower to save the coal ash mixture for plants.
You should make one of these at night.
I wonder if adding additional oxygen via an oxygen tank make it reach the complete combustion phase significantly faster.
That's a good way to cause an explosion, which would be bad
You made a jet engine out of a osakkeet this is Some FBI shit
Polish rocket technology at it's finest, Warsaw we have lift off
Live in the emarald triangle and I'm recommending this to the sheriff.
This is great. How much ash is left? How long does it take to completely burn a barrel full of branches limbs and brush?

when is twincharged burn barrel

Start the fire at the top and it will hardly smoke at all.
gthawker Fire burns from bottom to top , I’m pretty sure it would just burn out after 2 minutes if you lit it from the top
Search for upside down fire. Plenty of videos.
@@gthawker those fires are designed to burn that way though, this is designed to burn bottom to top.

I’d wrap some copper tubing around the barrel and heat a water tank for the house or workshop.
I bet you could heat a pool with his.
Was thinking of a steam powered electric powered turbine? Make money or free power.
If you were clever enough, it'd be possible to make a small boiler and steam turbine that would power a blower fan. No external power needed to keep it going once it lit off.
I want to see more, you should keep remaking models and more barrels with maybe different designs, this is very entertaining
Epic steak searing chimney 😂
How fast do you think it'll cook some steak? 😂
It'll cremate the steak before it cooks it with that amount of heat.
That is nuts

Id put a steak on the grate after it goes out
What were you burning?
Could this actually propel something?
Would that work for gras clippings?
It should, just put some brown dry items in the bottom to get it started.. Grass clippings trying to burn wiull make much more smoke..
Thank you so much chris.
looks like it would work for steel
Must be the sugar in the green.
Try twin turbo pla
Y’all saying he made a jet engine don’t know how a jet engine works lol
Add a shot of N2O to the intake of that blower for some real action, supercharged/nitrous build
I think nitrous needs compression doesnt it?
No it almost acts like a turbo/sc but chemically cools and condenses air instead. N2O combined with oxygen will allow you to add as much fuel as you need or match the fuel/air in the barrel.
the problem with that though, it's running significantly lean. add in more fuel like say a used oil injector and you will get alot more out of it.
I need two-step burn barrel
Just let it decompose
