    In episode 20, the S14 gets fitted with Parts Shop MAX rear drop knuckles and dual Z32 brake calipers. The hardest part of the install was piecing together the correct parts to make the whole setup work. It's an extensive install, but I was more than happy to share my install notes with the Fitted Life community. Enjoy the new vlog and thanks for the support!

    Great work man! Loving the build. I did notice at 10.52 your Ruca's are mounted on the wrong side. Passenger on driver and driver on passenger. Removing them and placing them on the opposite side, will give you much more frame clearance since now the threaded body where the spherical bearing meets the ruca would be pointed downward and then more clearance with the chassis from bottoming out. Keep up the great work 😁👍

      Thanks Rene! Yea, that totally makes sense! Thanks for the explanation too with the frame clearance. It's one of those things where I've been staring at this project for so long, that details like that fly over my head. hahaha. Thanks again - you're a life saver!

    Just wanted to show some love because this is by far the most informative install of the pbm drop knuckles and I really appreciate it.

    What rotor width is needed for the rear z32 calipers?

    Do you have your rear lower control arm threaded all the way in ?

    @fitted life is the z32 ebrake shoe mandatory for this swap? Or is it just better?

    My coilover is stuck to the knuckle. How do I get it unstuck

    Sweet build man. Really enjoying the vods so far. I'm a little confused with the ebrake cable set up. So you hooked up one cable on the left side of the front hook place, and then routed it to the right caliper side?

    • @FittedLifeCollective
      @FittedLifeCollective  2 роки тому

      Thanks man. Yea it's a bit of a switch around with the cables. This is only applicable to the Parts Shop Max rear knuckles since the e-brake outlet is on top - stock setup is bottom mount. That is correct, the cables cross over like an x. So the right rear calipers heads towards the left-front ebrake hook and the left rear calipers heads towards the right-front ebrake hook.

    Would the max dual caliper knuckles kit could be Installed with all stock suspension other than coil overs? I pulled the z32 rear drum brakes of a car and I would like to get this kit and install it on my car and get the dual brakes plus the drum brakes. Thanks in advance

      The max dual caliper knuckles are drop knuckles so it will most likely get your stock suspension geometry out of alignment. I can't 100% confirm that it would work, but if you can compare your stock knuckles to the part shop max ones and visually confirm that the drop isn't too aggressive, then technically it should work. hope that helps! but just double check before you do any installing. It's super tricky to get that lower control arm nut on the knuckles and get it torqued decent enough.

      @@FittedLifeCollective gotcha… thanks for the quick response. I am going to look into this but I already made a purchase for the front and rear brakes. I have not yet purchase the knuckles or the 2nd rear set but would consider upgrading my whole suspension in the future.

    Awesome video! Can you still buy the entire Z32 E brake assembly new? Or do you have to source a used one? I will be running the same drop knuckles

      Thanks! I had to source a used Z32 e-brake assembly through eBay. I believe the e-brake assembly is discontinued by nissan, but you can buy the replacement brake shoes.

    Are you able to run the willwood caliper while still having the z32 caliper as the foot brake

    • @FittedLifeCollective
      @FittedLifeCollective  2 роки тому

      I can't confirm the wilwood/z32 caliper setup, but according to parts shop max, you can run wilwood/oem s14 by cutting off the Z32 mounts. Double check though and reach out to the guys over at parts shop max.
