Watch the OV-10 Super Bronco during its third day of training flights in this cross-country video. Join us as the powerful OV-10 maneuvers through the sky.
I served in the Korean military in Hwacheon. I saw many OV-10 flying along the Korean Armistice Line performing reconnaissance missions in North Korea around 1980. It was a great aircraft with excellent aerobatic capabilities, and it is still surprising and nice to see it flying. I am grateful to the US Air Force in Korea for their help.
Well it's kind of a hassel to set up the hardware for the flight sims but after this I'm gonna have to fly. I don't have an OV-10 BUT I do have a P-38. Thanks for the nice immersive video.

Cool airplane. Would have been nice to hear some comms to get an idea of what’s going on. Plus maybe an explanation of why the guy in the back seal is wearing a helmet and O2…seemed kind of weird .
Hourly Cost to Operate should mandate these be brought back. Add extra HP to enable carry of enhanced armor and keep 3-8 air wings of these things in LatAm and Africa and Phillipines and Australia.....low contested air spaces. These and 8 air wings of Super Tucanos. With a splurge to get 3 wings of Bell247 Vigilance (UAV). We need to be able to get 1 platoon squad and 48 hrs of support logistics 300 naut miles in 2hrs and then turn around and do Close Air Support.

is this re-engined, 2000 HP is quite a bit more than 1960's versions, i think? how is the noise level? I'm guessing that the Bronco was not designed for "executive transportation", more like "executing them pesky insurgents..."
I always loved the OV10 I thought if you could get enough cargo in the back to make money up in Alaska that would be the greatest. But I am pretty sure that the numbers wouldn't work out.
Kind of curious myself. Guy in the back has helmet and mask but the pilot is flying with nothing more than headphones. What if for some unfortunate technical reason they had to eject?
The back seat pilot is an experienced OV-10 pilot with his own flight equipment. The pilot in front is a newly rated OV-10 pilot but hasn't bought his helmet yet. As for the mask, it has the mic built-in, plus the OV-10 is rated to 30 thousand feet but is not pressurized, so oxygen mask is required above 15 thousand feet.
@@thisisbroncocountry kinda what I thought but wasn’t sure. I knew the aircraft wasn’t pressurized which is the main reason I was curious about the mask. Congrats to the newly rated OV-10 pilot and thanks for keeping these wonderful birds in the air. Blue Skies!
Great video! You got all the good shots from two angles (takeoff, going through the cloud deck up and down, etc.) Is it correct that no type rating or LOA is required to fly the OV-10 in the US?
@@rachaelpreston8976 You owe it to yourself to visit Chino. The Planes of Fame Museum air show is in early May. So plan on next year. The mission of POF is to make airworthy their aircraft. Yes, it's privately owned. A Former US Marine Corps airframe. So, it is a warbird with extensive combat history in Vietnam. The paint scheme is to honor its military heritage.
@@TFT-bp8zk yes. Saw many of them at McClellan. I meant U.S. Military. I was confused, because the only thing missing from this Pilot was a Side Arm, it seems.

I was a child in the 80s, and I remember often seeing aircraft with unusual silhouettes when I looked at the sky.
The North or South Korea ?
@@docholidayoutlaws104 It's obviously South Korea
@@docholidayoutlaws104 I am a citizen of South Korea.
The OV-10 has always been one of my fav aircraft for its flexibility and durability. It def deserves a modernized version.

I love the OV-10. Such a beautiful aircraft.
They used to mark targets with smoke rockets, for the F-4and A-4 close air support acft.
The pilot does not require oxygen , only the backseat guy does 😂
No O2 used, backseat didnt have a boom mic setup and pilot has helmet on order. However O2 is used above 15k.

Great looking plane! What is the overall purpose of this refurb? And are your ejections seats active/hot?
No ejection seat in this bronco.
Green with envy

The best Aero-Club plane ever !
Poor dude in the front. Gotta listen to the guy in back huff and puff into the mask the whole flight.
Not really, modern radios are good and we are using Bose noise cancelling as well.
The pilot could at least look happy! Love the episodes.
That's not the pilot
It’s a two seat platform, you’re looking at the rear.
I think these are what my uncle flew in Vietnam before going on to be a test pilot. Then flew the SR71.. cool videos

What a great plane this was!
Nice to see Chino again and my friend’s Matt’s hangar. Miss you guys.

This is one of my favorite planes to fly in X-Plane 12. Love it. This video is amazing!
Power to weight ratio must be absurd.
Nice to see the Bronco flyi.Just don't see that many of them
Let's ride!
Was this 2 different flights as the pilot's head gear changed from a baseball cap to a helmet and back

Great content
bet that thing is a hoot to fly
Flight looks almost all ILS so both you guys have plenty of time. The engines never seem fo change RPM, perhaps just prop pitch only?
I just saw two of these at the Fort Worth Aviation Museum (TX) today 😁👍

Santa Barbara, then Santa Maria, back to Chino.
