This was a killer album. This song is awesome. Best Ric Ocasek solo album. Billy from Smashing Pumpkins adds that extra something to the outstanding overall production of this.
From the first time I ever heard a Cars song all the way through, including every solo record I have been a R.O. Fan...100%... under the cold and darkly skies!
This came out in 1997, the reason it didn't become an hit is because that style of Rock/Pop died out in the early 90's, with the start of Grunge and Rap and Hip Hop dominating after. Basically good music was rare after, and even rarer as hits.
@@luke2r2r Billy Corgan produced it and it sounds mid 90s alternative, but maybe just because Ric was so tied to the 80s, people didn't give it a chance
I just wish they would have left the very beginning on this. I used that to get my daughter out of bed in the morning! Her red hair would stand out on end every time I played that for her!
Towards the half of the video, i think it get's more interesting. It's funny and it looks fun and shows what the singer/singers put up with. The song is really cool, it's one of my fav's now from him.
A criminally overlooked album. Loved it.
Absolutely-- sounds like a Cars album circa 1997. Back to basics garage rock sound with that unique Ocasek songwriting flavor in the mix.
Ric (R.I.P.) was a trailblazer who made great music with the Cars and this is a great album too!
R.I.P. Ric 💔 You were the coolest of the cool, and we will not forget you!

I used to play this song a lot back when I was a radio DJ in the 90s!
Good for you. I always applaud great music on radio. Played it myself when I was broadcasting in the 90s too.

I dug this album. RIP Ric. Good songwriter.
That's Pumpkins/Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Mauer. Billy was heavily involved on this record "Troublizing" - it sounds pretty good actually.
Rest In Peace. :'( You were the troubadour of my generation, Ric.
We can't wait for the next right moment to come...thanks Ric for dedicating your life to creating music... thanks to the rest of The Cars, respect.
0:37 Oh that MadM bassline is makin' my Klipsch fall in love!
Real rock up and down...
Love Cars from 80s...now 60y still love inside..
Without Rick n Ben...the cars so lonely...for me lah..
😎😄😭☕🚬🇲🇾😍👍🎶🎵
I have always liked the class & style, that Ric Ocasek is.
Ric's the man - he never fails to produce a great sounding catchy song! Beats me why it didn't become a hit.

No one really gave a shit about new wave in the 90s

I just wish they would have left the very beginning on this. I used that to get my daughter out of bed in the morning! Her red hair would stand out on end every time I played that for her!
RIP Rick Ocasek
This is such a great 'pick me up' song. Love the guitar.
This is exactly how The Cars would have sounded in 1997. So underrated
Smashing Cars.
this is a cool damn tune.
Love Ric Ocasek's sound! He was The Cars.

Great tune.
That's how The Cars would sound, if they were active in the 90s maybe?
Love
Wow, I didn't know this video with Melissa appearing on it !
This song sound almost like a Smashing Pumpkin's one...
Billy Corgan co produced with Ric on this song and several others on the Troublizing album, even playing and singing background vocals
See you forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
