This is not true. There are no blood diamonds anymore for more than 3 decades. More than 90% of the mining output today had been taken up by giant mining conglomerates. Most rich people buy it for investment.

@Donald Kasper diamonds are not rare and dont have value. If you go to the stock market you can trade anything with value such as oil, gold, platinum and even sugar. Diamonds however are worthless and we at the stockmarker know this and thats why we dont trade pieces of stones with no use or value

Wow Norma, you're clearly very ignorant when it comes to diamonds. Not any diamond is the same. It's the clarity, size and color (and more attributes) that make a diamond rare and therefore valuable. You can get small low grade diamonds for the cost 10$ per piece, because they're ubiquitous. It's the same with anything on our planet. The rarer, the more expensive. Diamonds per se aren't rare, but as I already explained it is the attributes that make one more rare than others. You're right that buying diamonds from shops such as cartier, tiffany & co, van cleef & arpels etc. is more expensive, because you're also paying for the brand. Well welcome to our planet, it's the same with almost anything you buy that has some kind of brand on it, even H&M or Zara.
