John, my German heritage and my deep love òf both music and nature, my very serious concerns about this pummeled planet, always bring you into my thoughts, my heart and soul. I feel you everything I watch a hawk soar, an osprey hover, a dear graze...How we need you, how much your MISSED!
Thank you for sharing this. I, too, was often mocked for loving John and his music. But I just ignored those people and continued listening because his music made my heart HAPPY. Fifty-three years later and I am still loving John and haven't seen those OTHER people in probably fifty-TWO years. ( !!! ) You and I and all John's other admirers were the smart ones. Again, THANK YOU.
These are the lyrics. Joe Henry read this at John Denver's memorial service. Ascension The stars they call. They beckon me to follow They seem to say there's something more to find And like a fool I'm driven by a hunger That leaves me lost with nothing to call mine. And so my past returns, drifting through the darkness, the branches tear across my face and hands, The stars wink down, they say you're bound to find us. I climb alone - a solitary man, But I will rise, I'm almost flying, I come from earth, I love the sea and I will fly I feel me rising I'll climb beyond a climbers need to be and so I watch the eagles soar above me He dips his wing and bids me to go on and I follow him, I watch him like a beacon into the east we face the rising sun the skies a flame there is blood accross the mountains the shadows fall and fill the earth below I take a step and rest and take another On stronger winds I soar above the cold."
Never heard this before. Did John sing it or was that somebody else? Beautiful video. His passing devastated me. To this day, I grieve over his loss. He can and never will be replaced but also never forgotten.
..Hypnotic!!!..I heard of Johns death whilst i was in hospital recovering from a car-wreck in which i lost my precious hubby 10 weeks earlier..2 huge personal losses. Johns songs have helped me through the hardest times..helped me rejoice the happiest too!! Thank you for this emotive vid...John may have left us 'bodily'..but his unique Spirit lives in us all who love him..Hugz, Jana x
Thank you very much, you are really kind. I have had some recent teasing (mostly good natured) about my on-going love of JD, and it just gets me to missing him all the more. When people make fun of some of his better known songs I like to bring out lyrics like ...deep contemplation, it seems that the mind runs wild when you're all alone..." or, "the fear that lives within you now seems to never end..." Boy, I really miss him! Scott

Could someone print up the exact words? I can't really understand them.
I believe someone put them in the comments five or six years ago (Below)
