I was born and raised here in the US but my grandparents, mom, aunts and uncles were born in Mexico. My grandparents brought the family to the US and worked hard to make a living and now they are all US citizens and it is a grand feeling to know that comfort. I always appreciate my grandpa for taking that first step into bringing my family to a safer place and giving us better opportunities. My mom is a hard worker, she's been working since she was 13 and she's almost 60 so my goal is to support her and allow her to retire so that she knows just how much I appreciate all she has done for me.
I get you KEEMi. I get emotional about thinking of my parents. Ive thought about the future and stupidly thought about them passing away. I was in class so I couldnt cry.
That crewneck looks really good on you Keemi! & that hair 😍 I wish you could share some of the food with me. Seriously looking like sushi restaurant quality! Congratulations to your dad for being naturalized and I'm happy you went on a date with your dad and spent quality time with him. That's exactly how I feel about fathers and they deserve the utmost respect. You're making ME cry 😭 Loved this mukbang Keemi!💕
This wasn't stupid. It's okay to cry and it is healthy to do that. Thank you for sharing your personal story and putting yourself in a vulnerable situation, for us to get to know you better. :) Congratulation to your dad for getting his citizenship! My mom just got her green card, too!
Crying and emotion is nothing to apologize for young lady. You experienced a mature feeling when realizing how important a person is to you when you didn’t even realize it. Our parents get older and for some reason we see them as being more Human. You feeling that before your parents pass is a Blessing for you. You are a real person and not a robot - seeing that unexpected expression of Emotion is nothing to feel anything but Proud of 💕
Big Mac sauce is actually pretty easy to make at home. It's just Thousand Island dressing. Recipe: Mayonnaise, Sweet Relish and Ketchup. Portions for the big Mac looks like less ketchup. I like to add some flavored vinegar to mine.
I grew up here in America but my parents came as immigrants many many years ago, and growing up I always took my moms side whatever happened. And my dad even told me "wow, you like your mom more than me" but growing up I do have a lot more appreciation for my Baba and how hard he works and he always gave up so much for me and my family to be happy and have a good life/education. So remembering that made me cry with you! 💀 but I'm always grateful to him and glad I have him in my life.
Fuck. This is exactly what happened to me too. My dad lived here in Canada all his life, but my mom is originally from Mexico, and had to struggle a lot when she first moved here. She didn't have any money, or didn't know anyone, or couldn't even speak English, so it must have been so hard for her. But I always seemed to take my mom's side, growing up. I feel guilty for it now too, because I can understand my dad's perspective a lot more now that I'm older... man, it's so nice being able to talk to people with similar experiences. I'm gonna do something nice for my dad tomorrow :)
Thank you for letting us into your life. Watching this really made me feel like we were eating and chatting as friends. Spend time with your parents, laugh with them, hold on to them as long as you can. My mom passed away a month ago and I regret not spending more time with her. Everything looked delicious 😋 those onions sounded so yummy!
Omg Keemi, the sushi looks store bought you have some serious talent :o Damn Now we're craving sushi with big mac onion sauce x.x Can't wait to see what you do next with the big mac sauce maybe pizza with big mac sauce, or making pasta salad? hehe p.s salmon our favourite fish in sushi :D
Keemi, Thank you for sharing some of the most personal things to you, your Dad! I'm sure he loves you so much and is proud of his daughters! Please continue to share your stories and never feel like you don't need to cry, everyone needs a good cry! We are all human. Love sushi & love following your channel! Thank you!
I'm so happy for your dad! It's awesome that he finally gained citizenship, and I'm so happy you gave him a chance and spent time with him!! I'm sure he's now the happiest man on earth!
KEEMI I wanna say that I totally relate to your situation at hand. family wise as well as relationship wise. I won't lie when u started talking about family I instantly cry. Bc I can relate. And I can relate to foreigners having citizenship. me and my mom as well as my sisters were all born in the Philippines so... your not alone. relationship wise, I can relate. when u fight so much with them it's like u become very numb. it's like not having feelings. idk it's very hard to xplain lol. but just know I can relate and your not alone. And I appreciate u more for sharing that side of u. It takes alot for someone to just talk about a topic that's supposed to be private and basically tell the world. KEEMI your awesome. Much love and respect. 👏💋
I am SO EXCITED to see the dog house!!!! That is soooo cute!!!! And it is ok to cry. Showing how much your mother, your father, and your dog means to you is amazing!!!! Shows what a truly AMAZING heart you have! It's a gift you should cherish! My father passed away on 9-11-15 of cancer and that was one of the saddest days of my life, that was 7 days before my birthday. My mother that has been my rock, just got diagnosed with stage 4 Brest/brain cancer. She is now living with myself, 2 kids, and my husband. And it truly is so hard to see her going through all of this chemo, radiation, changes etc. but I am cherishing every single moment I have with her, and it's so hard!!!!! But I have to stay strong for her and for my kids!!!!! Love your family and loved ones every minute you can, bc you never know what tomorrow bring!!!! Thank you for sharing your feeling about your dad on this video!!!! MuchLove❤️💙💜💚💛
Girl, your SOOO strong for being able to talk about all this.... I already had so muchhh respect for you... But letting your true emotions show..... It's very humbling and I was crying with you... My family on both sides are immigrate, and I was too young to go with my grandparents when they went but I feel you girl!! I'm so happy that you went with your dad and I'm even happier that he passed!! That's amazing!! Love yea girl!! 💜💜💜
As a Korean American daughter, I kind of get where you're coming from. My parents came to America to, leaving family behind. I thank you for talking about your dad Keemi! 💕 I don't think it's bad to cry when talking about your family, sometimes it's good to let out emotions. I love that you shared such a private and intimate story about your dad. ❤️
Could you tell the story about when you moved to the US? How old you were and how it was learning a new language etc. Would be very interesting to hear!
I was raised by my mom's parents and I know I took them for granted so I get where you're coming from, getting emotional, seriously appreciating your parents and realizing now how much they did for you. I am the same way now. I'm glad I realized it sooner rather than later so I can appreciate them more now.
Congratulations to your father!!!Spending more time with family... let him know how you regret taking your mother's side~I'm sure he would appreciate hearing that from you
You have soft heart.... don't cry. Yes all the international parents always work very hard for they children. I love this video simpnce I love sashimi and sushi.🍣🍱🍲
I related to you so much when you were talking about your dad, I felt really happy seeing you talk about how you finally understand him, because that's really important! I cry when I talk about my dad these days, we went through so much but I was never on his side when I was younger because I didn't understand. These days though I feel like I'm making up for lost time, I want to make up for all that love and understanding he didn't have. I really appreciate you opening up, it made me feel less alone so thank you for that. Thank you so so much.
I'm crying with you,it's a a huge thing in your family a proud moment,it's ok to be emotional about something so important ,thank you for sharing with us
I really like this new themes & storytime format. Things I'd like to hear about: - what was it like when you first moved in with Dong? Why do you think you fought so much? - when do you think you'll get married? What do you want your wedding to be like? - what did you go to school for? What did you want your career to be? - have your friends / family noticed your weight loss? How many pounds have you lost? You mentioned that your dad pressured you to eat, and that happens to me too - social obligations interfere with my health goals. How do you normally avoid that while still having a social life?
there's a reason why sushi chefs train so hard and for the first year only make the sushi rice! girl it doesn't matter what it looks like, it all ends up in the same place and I'm still drooling. salmon is my favorite and my 4yr old daughter loves it too. we go to sushi and miss princess gets salmon sashimi while I order some cheap roll on special lol
Keemi, I really felt it when you were getting emotional about your father. My dad passed away almost two years ago now and while I wish I had spent more time with him... Gone out to breakfast with him more... Gave him more hugs, shared more music together... It just makes me really happy to know that despite not being all that close with your father, you still went out for breakfast with him. You're a good daughter. And treasure these moments... You'll never have enough of them.
At first I was skipping the talking part and when I seen you with the blow torch thing I was like ohhh hold on let me rewind this back 😩😂😂 you did a really good job making these so look so professionally made! Good job girl 👏🏽
Now that I’m older, I also look back at certain situations from my youth and it makes me appreciate my parents on such a different level. I’m so much more concerned for them, I worry about them, and I value being with them more than ever. Some things have happened in my life that honestly made me realize I could lose them at any moment and I just want to cherish every moment I have with them.
As an older lady it makes me so happy to see you so emotional about your parents. I started to realize things in my 30s and specially when my Son was born. Parents are imperfect in an imperfect World. If a person is very lucky they love them anyway. I know I adored my Parents in later years. The loss of them 2 years ago was so profoundly deep. So love while you can
Katherine Canon No, I dont have any kids. First pregnancy. I don't want any of my own but I want to give her children. Her and her husband have been trying awhile and the first person they set up to surrogate for them bailed before it could happen.
Keemi is cute as a button omg!! Love you keemi!! Thank you for sharing your story. I think all children of immigrant parents go through extra emotional trauma because we are taught the unspoken rule which is not to have emotions and just appreciate but we are only human and we are meant to understand our path in life to grow. Sharing helps us connect with the world and I believe it makes us more tolerant and understanding and caring to each other regardless of where we are from.
flo87 well, it's the same concept as fully cooking your pork or burger, extreme heat will kill bacteria, extreme cold will kill bacteria as well :) well it is frozen in a specific temperature I think I'm not fully sure on the details just the concept of it
Michelle Guardado Idk i live in France and i never heard of freezing fish for sashimi... when I went to Japan it was always fresh fish... it's a weird concept for me. But hey I'm no expert so as long as the food is good everything good
Keemi, your story is my story to the tee from start to beginning .. thank you for sharing. We lived the typical immigrant life growing up, you are not alone :) our parents made sacrifices to bring us to North America and the lessons we learn will make us the people we are today. Fighting!!
It is okay to cry, my dad never talked to me and if someone told me to go talk to him I would say no, because he is a stranger to me, i know nothing about him. Dad is just a word to me..
spend as much as u can with ur dad. have no regrets. because one day when u look back he won't be there. I spend wonderful days with my dad before we lost him to cancer. never say sorry for being real
I've nvr commented on youtube but I just had to comment and let you know out of all your videos, this one is by far my favorite!! I can really see you being more open and not being afraid to be yourself. keep up the good work! love your stories =)
Ms.G lol I know I'm late, but no I don't have issues, I go to the CIA, and it makes me cringe so much when I see a dull knife being used on a delicate item
Hi keemi I was wondering if you could make a video talking about the freshness of seafood? All kinds of seafoods and how to tell the freshness of each specific one? Love your videos!!! Thank you 😊💙
Because you cook your own food, your videos are much more fun to watch. And your story was touching and sweet. I teared up because my father and I have/had a similar relationship. And since he’s been diagnosed with cancer, I’m afraid to try to get closer to him for fear that he might reject me because I rejected him for so long. But, I’m still trying. You should try too. ♥️
What an amazing experience you had with your dad. You're lucky tip of had that and learned you need more time with him and still have him around to spend time with 😊
Don't you ever say your ugly again you are a beautiful young lady

I love that you shared such a private and intimate story about your dad. ❤️
I've literally sat here and watched so many of your videos 😭 I'm pregnant and this food just looks too good.
BAP Trash same. 😭😭😭
Same and its killing me not being able to eat raw sushi 😭
I know this comment is 2 years old but I’m in the same situation right now and I’ve never craved raw salmon this much in my life, I swear 🙃
applecinnamon girl wtf same here. i think about it all day long planning when i’m gonna go get all you can eat sushi. this is hilarious i hate myself

glad you know about buying certain grade salmon and freezing possible worms, good shit keemi
Tommy Nguyen agreed ☺
Tommy Nguyen Freezing WORMS! What?!
Amanda Beers sometimes certain fish contain parasites ("worms") so freezing fish or raw filets kills them
She said it was sashimi quality, i assumed it was fine
Prince Mahdi yes it is gross
Congratulations to your father!!!Spending more time with family... let him know how you regret taking your mother's side~I'm sure he would appreciate hearing that from you
Aww keemi I want to hug you when you cried
I love how emotional you got when you talked about your dad! I just love how family oriented you are! You just seem like an amazing person!!!!

With your beanie and your pig tails you remind me of Spinelli from the t.v show Recess, so cute...even when you eat and cry!
there's a reason why sushi chefs train so hard and for the first year only make the sushi rice! girl it doesn't matter what it looks like, it all ends up in the same place and I'm still drooling. salmon is my favorite and my 4yr old daughter loves it too. we go to sushi and miss princess gets salmon sashimi while I order some cheap roll on special lol

Thank you for sharing your day with your dad with all of us. It is obvious how much you love and care for him. Great video!
Currently my favorite mukbang ;) your personality is everything
Keemi, I really felt it when you were getting emotional about your
father. My dad passed away almost two years ago now and while I wish I
had spent more time with him... Gone out to breakfast with him more...
Gave him more hugs, shared more music together... It just makes me
really happy to know that despite not being all that close with your

Alli Diane Aw you're a sweet friend im scared to have kids for the future i want to consider a surrogate.
Alli Diane Wow! your so kind! I wish I had a best friend like you but I don't cuz all my "friends" are back stabbers.
Keemi is cute as a button omg!! Love you keemi!! Thank you for sharing your story. Wow she ate so quietly this time! I like!
Aww Keemi, the fact that you get your dad now is what counts. Forget about the past, you were young and did not know much, but your good now :)
I dont understand why you freeze fresh salmon to eat it raw after... wouldnt it taste better fresh than defrosted ? I never made sashimi before
flo87 you have to freeze it to kill any parasites that might be in the fish. That's what makes it sashimi grade...
flo87 well, it's the same concept as fully cooking your pork or burger, extreme heat will kill bacteria, extreme cold will kill bacteria as well :) well it is frozen in a specific temperature I think I'm not fully sure on the details just the concept of it
flo87 I'm pretty sure she says why she does that in the video
Michelle Guardado Idk i live in France and i never heard of freezing fish for sashimi... when I went to Japan it was always fresh fish... it's a weird concept for me. But hey I'm no expert so as long as the food is good everything good
flo87 I think it helps to potentially kill any harmful bacteria or parasites that may be in it 😕😶👀
Keemi, your story is my story to the tee from start to beginning .. thank you for sharing. We lived the typical immigrant life growing up, you are not alone :) our parents made sacrifices to bring us to North America and the lessons we learn will make us the people we are today. Fighting!!
키미 효녀! It's something us 1.5 generations always need to remember; the sacrifice our parents made for us.
i can relate to her family story so much i’m crying 😭😭 love u keemi 💞
OMG when she said Masogo i was like YASSSSSSSS OMG GURL WE HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON!!!!!😋
Back to this video again, I love it so much, I'm dying to the salmon nigiri with the onions, it looks so good
It is okay to cry, my dad never talked to me and if someone told me to go talk to him I would say no, because he is a stranger to me, i know nothing about him. Dad is just a word to me..
she looks like this amazingly sweet and caring friend that everyone deeply desires in their life.
This is what I do, cry and eat
I'm drooling! Have you ever had salmon skin sushi roll? It's my favorite! Crispy salmon skin and sushi rice--so good!
omg when you got emotional it made me cry too! dang it keemi, lol
spend as much as u can with ur dad. have no regrets. because one day when u look back he won't be there. I spend wonderful days with my dad before we lost him to cancer. never say sorry for being real
I hate seeing people crying coz it affects me too ... power hugs Keemi !
I've nvr commented on youtube but I just had to comment and let you know out of all your videos, this one is by far my favorite!! I can really see you being more open and not being afraid to be yourself. keep up the good work! love your stories =)
when Keemi cries, I cry 😢
I love that you tackled sushi!!! Your ideas are always creative and fun to watch. I always learn something new!
29:29 "Omg this one is so big... idk how I'm going to-"
*NOM*
❤️❤️❤️ 100% feel you on your relationship with your dad! Made me tear up too 😢
Omg!! Get a shaper knife, or sharpen your knife!! Watching you cut it like that gives me anxiety
Kathy lam agreed! Poor fish lol. But she's not a professional sushi maker so I can't really hate on her haha
Kathy lam Wow, you have issues
Kathy lam that's exactly what I was saying
LOL!!!! yaaassss...
Ms.G lol I know I'm late, but no I don't have issues, I go to the CIA, and it makes me cringe so much when I see a dull knife being used on a delicate item
I don't know why, but out of all the food in the world, sushi is my favorite thing to watch people eat. 😄
Next food subject for next week should be kimchi!!!
You feel love and respect for your dad..he must be a special dad💖
I personally think dark hair suits you better.. but your hair, your choice :)
I don't even care how long Keemi's videos ares because I love her, she's totally badass and I will watch it till the end!! 😭😘😘
I kinda skipped the video and ended up watching the part where Keemi was crying ;-;
That was the only mukbang I watched literally from the first second till the last with no regrets
Hi keemi I was wondering if you could make a video talking about the freshness of seafood? All kinds of seafoods and how to tell the freshness of each specific one? Love your videos!!! Thank you 😊💙
its 2am... and im craving sushi now 😭😭😭
Do you ever get hungry editing your videos??
I absolutely LOVE your honesty! I admire it actually!
I remember when u got this but even then I was just confused as to why u went through all that trouble just to buy thousand Island dressing...
I have watched this video many times. Every time I get caught up in your story. Love your videos and stories.
I want that sauce 😰
mix thousand island and tarter ssauce~?
Fanvia Palha - tartar sauce is literally the same thing. just no ketchup. I like to add flavored vinegar for extra punch and flavor!
KEEMI you should come to Canada 🇨🇦 it's really not that cold here 😂
out of all the Mukbangs I love her and I always watch her videos because she s awesome
OMG ! Is that duck?!? If u guys didn't know Laurdiy has a stuffy that looks like that duck in the background.
Unani Hajioka oh yeah it is duck
Unani Hajioka Yess
Because you cook your own food, your videos are much more fun to watch. And your story was touching and sweet. I teared up because my father and I have/had a similar relationship. And since he’s been diagnosed with cancer, I’m afraid to try to get closer to him for fear that he might reject me because I rejected him for so long. But, I’m still trying. You should try too. ♥️
I fucking love you KEEMI!
What an amazing experience you had with your dad. You're lucky tip of had that and learned you need more time with him and still have him around to spend time with 😊
