I had the privilege to meet and interview Herrn Waltz a couple of times and it was always „challenging“. Because he HAS that certain approach to his craft and this special talent and personality. Sometimes he was being „difficult“ but always charming because he wouldn’t have „stoopid“ generic questions. I loved him then, I love him now. Can’t wait to see what he cooked up with Besson on this one.
What a gem! I absolutely love this guy! He's marvelous! A brilliant actor, a good hearted man, and downright hilarious in an intimidating manner. I wish I can meet him. My idol. Is he German? He looks Russian. I'm Russian myself, from Moscow. I used to live in Moscow for 5 and a half years, there's lots of guys that look like him in Moscow. He even sounds German. But he does play a lot of German roles, which makes sense. He's Russian made but German born after all.
He let slip that Danny Elfman will be composing the music score for Besson's "Dracula" then? Or is he confusing Elfman's involvement with Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein"? Since Elfman and Del Toro do have a history of collaboration, but Besson doesn't.
After Gary Oldmans Dracula, I say why? ITS like having another 3 musketeers. SOMETIMES a film is made so well it dosent need to be redone. Bram Stokers Dracula was wonderful. Christoph be honest...it's about the $. ❤️ your acting fyi😊
OK, always loved love Besson and Waltz, but the presentation of this vid makes me ANGRY : "... reimagines Bram Stoker's gothic classic as a doomed love story" ??? No shit ??? And what about "Bram Stoker's Dracula", by Coppola ?? The script by Jim Hart invented this whole "Vlad of 15 th century (a real historic figure, by the way) with a cursed love, doomed by God, searching through the centuries for his lost love, tormented romantic soul, etc" stuff !!!!! It is certainly NOT in the novel, where Dracula is PURE EVIL, a cruel, horribly violent, strong predator, mercyless, who manipulates his victims... So I hope Besson states (or will admit that ??) Coppola's vision is the main inspiration for him (I mean come on, "Elisabeta" ??? This name, for Dracula's lost love and wife ??? It was in "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and NOWHERE ELSE before or even after I think !!).
Christophe Waltz basically just gave a Rachel Zegler "WEIRD WEIRD" interview bashing the beloved source material to validate revisionism - except he can actually do his job well and therefore has some credibility. Also, this dude's not secretly playing the same character in Luc Besson's "Dracula" and Guillermo Del Toro's "Frankenstein" is he?
@@bebaguette766 LOL. I thought she was horrible. Everyone in that movie was horrible with exception of Debose and Rita. Even from a Spielberg film. You can't help but compare to Natalie Wood, and the whole production of that film. If you're going to remake a CLASSIC, you HAVE TO MAKE IT BETTER. Not even equal to, but better. It did not do that. Such a disappointment. And she was a disappointment. Her performance was very theater in high school, not a big budget redo of the classic. But, that's just my opinion and you have yours. So go figure. lol.

Waltz is such A wonderful actor and interesting man.
Good interview, I like Waltz he's refreshingly frank and always feels genuine.
Can you imagine the conversations between him and Caleb??!!
What a treat! On set, abroad, and Mr Waltz...thank you gentlemen for interview.
He is such a Viennese. If you are from Vienna, you know.
Do not need Vienna as beautiful as it is: Just a fab actor and love the way he explains.
No it's about viennese Schmäh.
You mean a**hole?
Frankenstein and Dracula ! Waltz is stepping into Peter Cushing's shoes
14:20 "And I want to hear Danny Elfmans Music,"
I hope Danny Elfman does the Music! He's great when it comes to horror movies!

I'm gonna make "will you take with bubbles without bubbles?" My text alert lol😂😂
he would make a good Prof. Van Helsing
Wasn't Francis Ford Coppola's version of Dracula also a re-imagining as a love story through time?
@jimmw79 yes exactly! ONLY gary oldman could say " I've crossed oceans of time 4 you" and make it work.
Well done you! Wish was there!:Ta so very much!

He is my heart ❤❤
Thank you 👍
'I think the novel is a drag'
Hey, I'm sure Bram Stoker could've taken that on the chin.
Will your team be at TIFF 24? I look forward to your commentary on Harbin. Is Scott Mantz still part of your team?
When does the movie come out
When does it come out?

You are NOT hearing what he is trying to convey to you that your line of questioning is not the right approach to conduct an interview (with him).
Christoph ❤️🥰💓💘😍💕

Luc Besson... Dracula? Luc Besson? Dracula? This does not compute.

Zegler is fantastic in West Side Story and she's not even thirty yet. She's got nothing to prove.

Spielberg is fantastic at molding her performance like he would a 5 year old

1992s Bram Stoker's Dracula was also a doomed love story, so it's not really a new take on the story.
A gzerm'n zdrac'la, howe naice!
The novel is a drag. Hah! It speaks volume. I'm not sure in a good way.
Stoped watching when he said he doesn’t like the novel
Can't wait to meet Luc. We must meet! 🪴
