    I had a few spots over the last 4-5 years I've owned mine. Decided to brush/erase them, and I couldn't get the spots out. So, I decided to use a stiffer wire brush and some dawn dish foaming soap (less water) and I successfully got a few spots out. After letting the shoe dry, I went over it with a cream like the one use in your video. After few weeks, it seem not to retain the moisture, so I looked thru a few YT videos and found one where they recommended Vaseline on the oiled sandals - It worked! Everyone who sees the sandals compliments the newness and comfort. Thank you for the video.

      Whoa, a stiff wire brush and then Vaseline? A saddle soap followed by a boot oil would be suitable. But if it did work on your sandals, why not! 👍
      How are they holding up? Thanks for sharing!

    Bought the Boston oiled leather in 42 EU with cork sealer direct from Birkenstock online today. Free shipping but it'll take a week. As per leather care I use mink oil on the leather as I do my Doc Marten's. Can't go wrong. Doc's are all I wear when stepping out the front door. Birk's are all I wear when at home. Love them!!!

      Congrats! Did you get the habanas or the tobaccos? They’ll get dark with mink oil if you don’t mind that. But it’s a good and inexpensive leather care solution.

      @@grahamhere3790 I bought the Havana's and don't mind darkening them with the mink oil. They are set to be delivered tomorrow. YAY! On another note I wanted to also get a pair of London's but Birkenstock didn't have my size 42 in stock. Should I really really dig the Boston's as I reckon I will, probably next month I'll get a pair in taupe suede as well. Cheers and mahalo!

      @@robertleslie2467 The taupe suedes are very easy to break in, but pain to keep them clean; I wear my habanas more for that reason. I'm planning to get the Boston or the Tokio super grips. I wonder if the Londons are narrower than the Bostons??

      @@grahamhere3790 The taupes would be just for wearing around the house every day and I'm not worried about staining them. I just want the comfort. The Boston Havana's I might wear for supper at my mother's house 15 minutes away, otherwise just at home as well. For everything else outside the house I wear Doc Martens 1460's. Don't know if the London's are more narrow but I sure wish I had pair. They look comfy as heck. On another note, I hear much ado about breaking in Birkenstocks but have never experienced having to do so from the very first day out of the box. Never had to break in any of my Birk sandals. Let us know how you like the Bostons or Tokio's. Mahalo!

    I have Roman toes, my 2nd and the 3rd toes stick out further than my big toe and the both hit the top, it’s not too bad though, so I bought 2 sizes to try them out and they both feel pretty much the same but the bigger size feels a little too big other than my 2 toes. I’m wondering if they break in a bit in the front. Because the I would hate to keep the bigger size and they get way too big. I have the same exact pair you have.

      The only possible fix that I can think of is to wear thick socks and/or get the suede leather. This is after getting your right size.

  • @blkrazorback1970
    @blkrazorback1970 2 місяці тому

    These clogs run small. If you wear a size 11 need to upsize to 13. If you do not toes will touch tip of clog. Also you will not have room for any type of sock. The worse thing ever is have hard toe shoe rubbing end of your toes off.

    I had Arizonas for about 4 years. Went through the outsole, had them replaced and lasted another 2 years. Cork midsole chunks falling out. I admit I never treated the cork.
    Thinking about buying these clogs in the spring. How good are these in hot summer weather? Not recommended?

    • @grahamhere3790
      @grahamhere3790  2 роки тому

      I wear my Bostons all year round, even during summer. The leather is full grain and breathable and you have about 30% of your foot uncovered, so that helps with the ventilation. So go for it and grab a pair! 👍

      @@jhp4012 Yes, size down. I wear 9D in Teva and Reef flip flop (thong) sandals. I went into a local footwear store yesterday to try on the Boston clogs in regular black leather, size 8-8.5 US (41). They fit correctly. The 42 was way too big in the heel cup. I didn’t take note of the width on the outside of the shoe box, but I suspect it was medium/wide. I would probably need to order online the medium/narrow. I was aware that my toes had space in the front box area, yet when I wiggled my big toes, they were ever so slightly in contact with the inside top of the clogs. Not annoying though. Does this seem normal to you fellas out there? Maybe it’s about the newness of the leather.
