- This is the first of many trail logs that I wish to make of my ATV adventures. I'm riding my 2001 Yamaha Warrior 350 and Mike Bloch is riding the 2001 Polaris Trailboss 325.
This Trail begins off of the dirt parking area off of Potter Mountain Road PIttsfield MA. This is the designated parking area for ATV riders. Just google map it and you'll see the scrap yard not to far from where the road begins, the parking area is just past that yard. This lower loop is just off the right of the where potter mountain rd is gated to keep motorists from continuing down the road. This trail is also gated to keep trucks from entering but there is an awkward ATV trail that brings you around the gate.
ALL ATV's are required to be registered in Massachusetts and you need to apply for a free permit by email every time you ride so they know you're on the trails. It was really easy to Register my ATV's, I visited their DMV office in Worcester MA, provided a bill of sale, paid sales tax, and a $33 a year reg fee to ride the trails as many times as I want. I can ride Pittsfield, October mountain, and Beartown national parks. Not a bad deal, and it's not too far from home in Northwest CT.
I like to make comments during my videos and document Trail quality and give tips to those of you that haven't been on these trails. I get lost all the time my first run on new trails, so I hope this series of videos will be of some help since I'm pretty familiar with these trails now.
I'm frustrated that these aren't downloading in full HD, my camera really has nice picture. I will try and improve this in my other videos.
As always, I advocate for safety first. I ride this trail with confidence because I'm familiar with it and there weren't signs of other ATV's, doesn't mean there won't be some illegally or parking in non-atv designated areas. We were the only truck in the parking lot, so it was safe to say we were pretty alone. Stay aware of hikers and bikers too. I don't go fast if I can't see at least 50 ft ahead of me. Be COURTEOUS!
I will post more as I figure out the HD settings with UA-cam. My camera is much better than this...
