When it comes to the player character knowing stuff like what happened to the Titans at the end of Legion, or what the Shadowlands were like.
A few things have always made sense to me:
I figured that we were told, off screen, to never talk about it as it was classified.
The Alliance and Horde propaganda machine is a real in game thing, you know.
Also pointing out that these nations/tribes are not democracies with the free speech that comes with it. These are Feudal era ruling systems, granted with nicer, more tolerant leaders than we've had IRL, but just their word could send our pc's to prison or Death (even if we players can't actuality die, a perceived one would make the adventuring business very difficult)
In this case blabbing is probably the quickest way to wind up with an SI7 knife in the back.
Then there's the trauma issue, a certain other game that shall remain name less, has pointed out that being an Adventurer means deleting a lot of things, being hunted, betrayed, captured, tortured and endless fighting in wars, that, like in IRL, always seem to be spring up somewhere across Azeroth. A normal person is traumatized after an accidental deletion, and the Forsaken are the way they are after one death, rez, and mind control session. Maybe talking about eating dirt 200+ to stop a mad Titan is something that you wouldn't want to do after the experience. 😁
Sorry for the book, but we all know the real reason blizz Avoided addressing past events is to make it easier for new players to jump in. But its a fun topic to think on.
And I feel your frustration, so hopefully reading my head canon makes you feel a little better about staying mute when you could just point to the red star in the sky and say there they are!!
