i’ve always loved falling asleep to the sound of an occasional car passing by. idk, something about hearing someone taking a late night drive as my anxiety’s keeping me up makes me feel less alone :^)
I like the sound of being a far distance away from an interstate highway and yeah the cars white noise is good and all, but my favorite sound and most relaxing is the trucks wail as they go by, and when they use their air brakes it's just so relaxing
I love it when it's like 4 am and it's chilly and sunny, and going out on the paddock, and hearing cars in the distance... Idk makes me feel nostalgic and comfortable
I absolutely love this. It reminds me of sleeping at my grandma's house in the country. I can hear the cars and trucks driving down the road at night and it's very relaxing
This is divine. Takes me back to childhood, on cross country vacations with mom and dad, and staying in "Motor Courts" along the way. I would love to say they all had garishly rustic 1950's knotty pine furniture in them, but I suspect they had been updated even then. Still, there was nothing like that neon coming through the drapes and the inevitable highway sounds not far away, and the smell of rain if one dared crack the window (situated over the feebly-functioning window AC/Heater unit). And of course the traffic would get louder as dawn approached, and thoughts of a hearty breakfast in the adjacent Coffee Shop stirred the imagination...let's sleep in just a while longer, sun isn't even all the way up yet...
My family always thought I was crazy for this but I think these sounds take me back to a calm serene time in my life before the trauma. The comfort is unmatched. Thank you for posting
Like it. All the other highway sound videos I've tried are too constant with the flow of passing vehicles. No spaces in between. I like this much better. Reminds me of sleeping pulled over at a rest area on a cross-country road trip.
I love the soft sound of passing cars, it reminds me of when I was a kid and I couldn't sleep till 7 in the morning, the sound made me feel like I wasn't really the only one having trouble sleeping, now it sounds like a lullaby to me, especially when quarantine won't allow people to take late night drives, it just isn't the same haha anyway, I hope if you're reading this still you have a great night or day, things are looking up
This reminds me when I was a kid and I went on vacation with my parents... Those summer nights with the windows open and the sound of crickets outside. I simply can't explain how magical is this feeling. Thank you so much, friend. 😊
i used to live very close to a road in my childhood, it wasn't a highway but it was busy. at night me and my siblings would count the cars, as if they were contestants in some kind of show and we were the commentators. sometimes they fell asleep before me, and i would go on counting the cars by myself. the sound had an effect of taking away the feeling of loneliness. i wasn't the only one awake. i now live in a house that is not close to a road, i do not often hear or see cars passing by, and i missed it so dearly much. thank you for this video.
every silent midnight. We are close to a highway near us. like 4 blocks away. I hear sports car racing. (mostly civics. It's pretty common in our country). Instead of listening to a chill song for me to sleep. I listen to those. They're my lullaby since I was 5 years old (I loved cars when I was a kid. Today. I'm 14 and still loving it)
When I used to live with my grandparents I would always hear vehicles in the distance driving on the highway it would always pit me back to sleep, and now since I moved out from them I get home sick, and this really helped, with me sleeping and from home sick. ♡
The sound of the 4-wheelers and the crickets chripping evokes memories of sleeping in the country at my grandparents' farm in East Texas. The highway was a ways back from the farm, but the air gets thin on cool nights, and the sound always carries. John Denver said it best in his lyric: "There's a truck out on the 4-lane, a mile or more away. The winding of his wheels just makes it colder. Hey, it's good to be back home again. You know it is!" Sweet dreams, ya'll.
I moved from California to South Carolina. Cicadas and crickets are terrible here. This had legitimately helped me sleep because it sounds just like my old home at night
I grew up next to a highway so I can’t sleep and I needed something to remind me of home due to it being so quiet and I found this and it’s helped a ton! Thank you
This is a lovely video. I have my therapy session in a suburban home which has a busy road outside. I feel super cosy and relaxed and comforted by the low rumbling of the passing traffic. It makes me as close to happy as i have felt in a long time
I remember sitting in the backseat of the car as a kid falling asleep while my mom drove. The sounds of passing cars will always be so comforting to me
So nostalgic feeling, when everyone is asleep while u r working /studying on computer in ur room after midnight or at dawn then u listen these sudden mysterious far sounds of passing trucks (like strange alliens) with interrupted barking.. It gives me a sense of productivity and tranquility:)
This reminds me of a village I used to live in. I remember opening up a window of my room and hearing the sounds of cars and trucks going by a highway. It was really relaxing to me, and now I want to relive these times.
This was my great-aunt's ENT specialist's favorite video - he was one of the better ENT guys my family knew. He talked frequently about how much this video meant to him. On behalf of Doctor Jimbelionikobold, thank you.
I used to live in the South & my family & I took road trips from Ga. & N.C. to N.C. coast & Fla. We would stop in cheap motels on the way & the sound of trucks driving & blowing their horns in the distance on a rural hwy, rumbling along, gave me a great feeling of peace & comfort.
I’ve lived in London all my life and now moved to the countryside this is a big lifesaver for me I can’t sleep without hearing cars after years of being so used to them, thanks
So my town is famous for making lots of steel a while back but because the people in town are so nostalgic they don't want to update it to a more modern steel place. So im about 20 maybe 30 miles away and you can still here the steel banging reasonably loudly. Better yet I stayed at a mates house in a tent and he 'forgot' to mention he lives about 5 miles away from it
I looked for this because early morning at my friends house i almost fell asleep on her bed from the soothing sounds of the cars on the highway. We lived it the same trailer park and i would walk to her house early every school morning. She is still my best friend
I like to listen to highways I live in the country on a dirt road so I don't hear cars often it's wierd cause I like listening to the highway but I hate listening to city traffic to put it shortly this is very relaxing
hearing cars passing on a far highway reminds me of the summers of my childhood when it was hot at night and we could open the windows and I would hear cars from far away it was always relaxing for me
My parents used to take us on a lot of road trips to see family as kids and we could never afford a motel or hotel or whatever so we always would make the back of a van into a little sleep area. We always fell asleep to this and it is just calming to me
My dad used to live RIGHT next to the freeway, (like, across the street was a wall and the freeway was behind the wall, you could see a highway sign from his patio) and we just moved out recently. It’s always been relaxing for me to hear car sounds when I went to my dads house, and now I realize that that is now no longer going to be a part of my life anymore. I play this now to remind me of all the years of drifting off peacefully to highway sounds.
Been up in Scotland, middle of nowhere and couldn't fall asleep. Wasn't even the sound of wind against the trees. Listened to this and didn't get halfway before I was out for the count. Was perfect
The sound of straight piped diesels roaring down the highway, no matter if it's a rig, or cummins/powerstroke/dirtymax, remind me of those nights when I worked in telecom.
Oh...the stories behind these sounds. Late night meet ups. deliveries. possibly checking in to a cheap motor inn with a large pepperoni and sausage from All Star Pizza. Horror movie on Cinemax. Who knows?
I meditate in the afternoon and evening when I get home from work until I go to bed this has worked out for me because Dr Oz has said on his shoes if you are stressed out and want to relax reguvinate then your doing the right thing to help you my friend told me never give up on the way things are going work on being your self
I literally overthink so much about anything, I just started playing this while trying to fall asleep and the first thing that came to my head is “what if this is a scam and there s a jump scare somewhere in this video” so I came back to check the whole thing on 2x speed
i live in texas. this audio doesnt work for my autism because i cant sleep without hearing a hispanic in a crimson red ford ranger or 1990s-2000s ford f150 blasting spanish rap so loud i can hear it from miles away

Glad you like the recording. May peace be with you friend. :-)
Your name is aesthetic but you have a cursed image as your profile photo
Same. I would love hearing the cars go by at my grandmothers house as I fell asleep.

yesss! are those sounds included in this video as well ?
Same
All these lives and stories pass by us everyday on the highway. We've known all these people through these sounds alone - that is the beauty of it.
that's what i always think too. If i can't sleep i always wonder about their lives, their destination, if they're happy or sad...
I love this comment because it so eloquently describes what I am feeling. In other words, ‘well said’. =)
couldn't explain it in a better way
lovely comment

Oh, and the individual assorted jellies and cereals at the cafe in the morning. ... Amazing memories. so Soothing.

Searched for this because a car passed by my house and I somehow found that relaxing.
This reminds me when I was a kid and I went on vacation with my parents... Those summer nights with the windows open and the sound of crickets outside. I simply can't explain how magical is this feeling. Thank you so much, friend. 😊
Pair this up with an "Empty Mall" playlist and feel like you're pumping gas in the middle of the night in a rural town just off the main drag.
ComradeTasker if you like that idea check out my most recent video! Not exactly what you’re describing but still a nice nostalgic gas station feel
That paints a great picture, throw in a dog barking now & then and it's complete,,lol.
There is something about that loan gas station out in the boondocks at night.

No, thank you! Lovin' the stories that are coming out of this video post. 🙂
People usually count sheep before bed. I guess cars work too, lmao.

Hi! I’m not sure what country you’re from, but even now, you’re still a kid! Good luck!! 🍀
All of you have such cool back stories I just grew up in the city and can't sleep without it now that we moved to a smaller town.

Those trucks always sound great out on those country roads at night, especially in the distance.

Hi Ella. Glad it helps! 🙂
I love this it brings me back to my childhood of living in the highways it’s just so soothing to me
What dream. This video demolishes the highway sounds. Way more comforting. Great idea

When the truck hitting the Jake brakes passes by 👌
You know when your up at like 2am and you hear a car drive by and wonder what the heck there driving too…

Too much "noise" for being midnight. Sounds like a subtle rushing sound of water in the background. Gotta pass on this one.
