@@magic3186 hey Chad, greetings from Ecuador! I watched the video and kinda felt like you when i went to the States a couple years ago. Only thing is that i had no comicbook friends there and i had to move around by myself looking for local comicbook shops.
Your channel is exactly what comic collecting should be about. And you hit it all in this one. Great books, meeting and making new friends, the generosity of comic collectors, comic sellers working to give good deals. Love it.
Never understood sellers like that truck. If they truly want to sell those, they need to make it easier for the buyer to look through them, i.e. at the very least, take them out of the truck and put them on a table. Great vid, as always. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the shoutout brother. That was a fun day and a great conversation! I love talking with community members on the phone or in person. Man, we are all just people, but I feel like I’m taking to celebrities when I’m talking with channels I really like.
I once joked with the channel that I had then learned Massachusetts is the center of the comic book universe, but I am really beginning to believe it now. It also appears like he is not really tripping over anyone else when browsing and buying, and there is truely never ending content here. I also think the channel now needs to be renamed, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert, money comics :0 !
All those comics in that truck! Wow! I wound up getting Hulk 181 from a guy selling comics from a truck. It’s missing the stamp but I only paid $20 for it. That was about 20 years ago. Love this post.
When I was a little kid my brother and I found a big cardboard box of green hornet rings that would go into a gumball type machine,my older brother said they were valuable back then and that was in the 60s
I know the big xmen keys but because of watching you and hearing about your favorite stories and characters, I want our hunting during MDW and found the 1st Bishop for only $4! Thank you for the knowledge
THIS is my favorite video! A truck full of comics....a box truck, what more can one want. Nice X-men pulls, great prices! Lol when you meet up with your friend and he was like “u see that truck?” Great positive Energy, great family content. Thank you
Hey, don’t worry about the sticker on the Masters of Universe. You just have to apply lighter fluid (the ones they use to fill up their cigarette lighters) on it, let it soak for a while first then you try to lift it off the cover with a pen knife. Reapply as and when it dries, be generous with the fluid and be patient during the lifting, don’t rush through it as it may tear into the cover. Once the sticker has been removed, if there are any glue remnants, you may to reapply the fluid & gently wipe it off with a tissue paper or cloth. 😅
This morning I went to the Mansfield Flea Market in Mansfield CT. Not sure if you've ever been there but there were quite a lot of vendors with comics both outside and in a small building. It is held every Sunday from 8-2.
I find old books a lot in flea markets but they are usually so low grade that they dont appear on CGC census and therefore hard to guage their value. Regardless, the kind of thing I see at these sales is often 3.0 books listed at a 6.0 price.
You & I were cut from the same cloth!! I rarely will pay full retail for vintage comics unless I have faith it will appreciate fast! The fun is finding bargains especially if it's on your want list!! The thrill of the hunt is what it's all about so your videos are inspiring! You'll have great stories to tell your kids in the years ahead!!
Thank you so much, I’m happy you enjoyed this, and yes ill have stories for my kids but also a video diary in the form of UA-cam. I think it will be a cool thing to look back on one day and show my kids and maybe even grand kids. Fun to think about
Love meeting folks on the hunt and trading info .got a big network of folks to buy and trade with all over . Like seeing the same vendors every year at the cons.
Alright, you weren’t kidding about Brimfield. Already trying to figure out how to get the planets to align in a “great conjunction” so I can come next year. Super awesome pick-ups, fantastic video, congrats my friend!
wow what a day! so many boxes in that truck great pickups I did notice that mystery in space 90 and that master comics is a sweet book not something you see often
Ooooo nice stuff! Looks like a fun hunt. “I don’t have enough time” “I can’t go through it all” the last thought you have before you go through it all.
First Rocket Raccoon, the Justice League Dark books, some amazing X-Men books... and so much more! Looks like it was an awesome time. And cheers to Chad for coming all the way from Australia!
Wow! So many comics to dig through. Cool spot! The Dark Crystal is a neat book. The movie was pretty freaky as a kid.. Still is. My uncle gave me 4 or 5 long boxes way back and there was a copy of it. Unfortunately the cover is detached. Still cool to have a random comic like that. Keep up the good content.
Wow man really wholesome video i watched it with a big smile on my face all the time, my wife kept looking me funny 😂. Wanted to tell you that like Chad, I’m not from the States, i am from Ecuador. Wish i could have someone over there to show me around every time i go there for vacations.
Good evening Michael The big yellow truck that could!. Greetings from the other side off the world. Boy did this episode zing! It deserves to be a mini series. What a wonderful event. And great that you met up with Chad. And what a man Chad is, If I could I would have done the same thing. I would have had to go through every box You got yourself some great comics, I was drawn to The Masters of the universe, I know you were bummed about the price sticker, But just imagine the kid who brought this comic at the Kmart, probably couldn't wait to get home to read it. No doubt it would be read again and again. Now you get to read it. I sell a lot of New/Old Stock and I think what a shame nobody has read and enjoyed this comic. Look forward to the next Adventures of Lunch Money Comics. I hope your got a nice haul of choice Antique's as well. It would be great if you and Alex could link up for a broadcast or too, that would be great fun. Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
Fantastic video today! I wish I had a place like that to go and hunt. Great bargains and lots and lots of boo 32:28 ks!!😂😊 Thanks again for sharing. I look forward to your videos ALL the time. 😁👍
Didn't know you where after JL Dark... I am as well. Hope you have swamp thing 50 and annual number 2. Those covers are amazing!!! Sitting my office on display.
You make me a little envious. I live in Eastern Washington and to get to comic books sales like that it is an 8 hour round trip. There definitely was some great comics there.
Wow you weren’t kidding on how many vendors were in Brimfield this year. There would be no way you could go through all those boxes in one day! Talk about a kid in a candy store! Not sure how they were priced but sooner or later you had to find good books! Congrats!
What a wonderful day! You can tell how much fun you had in the video. It’s a shame that Master Comics wasn’t in better shape. I so wanted you to get it.
That was definitely one of the biggest flea markets I have seen with that much of a variety in comic books. It was fun watching you go through those boxes and seeing the great books you were able to pick up
I will never not buy uncanny 222 if it's at a good price. I've got at least 3 copies and always looking for more. That cover has been my favorite ever since it first came out Awesome load of books! Appreciate you sharing.
I used to hunt comics in Brimfield years ago, but never really found anything mind-blowing. And you got a few pretty good deals but I think the best part was meeting and helping a guy from the other side of Earth.
I have been watching your fun videos for a couple of months now, and I appreciate your sense of fun and humor during your hunts. I sure wish we had places like Brimfield out here on the west coast in Oregon. Keep up the good work, and I will keep watching.
I would have been hard pressed not to buy those late Golden Age Atlas war books if the price was fair. Shame about Master Comics; Mac Raboy is a phenomenal artist, his style would be right at home on the cover of a modern comic - he was certainly ahead of his time as a comics illustrator. JL Dark is a very entertaining read and I even prefer this team to JLA. The book has had a string of great writers in its history. Mike, Chad has not stopped talking about meeting you and the flea market and how nice everyone he met was. Yep, Chad is a really nice guy (or "top bloke" as we say here in Australia). You have a lot of fans here Down Under, consider visiting us sometime in the future.
You got some really great books. Great show. I saw some comics you flipped past I'd have totally gotten like Marines in Battle and some of the Gold Key Classic comics.
💥Man, I'm really digging your videos and channel! I've watched quite a few so far and I just noticed we weren't subbed to you! No worries, that's been sorted, haha! I am also in the process of collecting the Justice League Dark characters and I want to recommend a book to you!! Swamp Thing is my favorite and I finally got a copy of House of Secrets #92 at this year's SC Comicon!! After all these years of collecting, it was my first graded comic, so I decided to get more to go along with! When it came to Zatanna, I was stuck. Her first appearance is in Hawkman #4 and she is not on the cover. I'm not a huge fan of Hawkman either and I just don't think it's a great book that represents her in my JL Dark collection. It would be cool to have but it's not the Droid I was looking for, instead I went with a book called DC Super-Stars of Magic #11 😎 It's the first time she had a solo cover, totally awesome and you need this book!! haha It's not a book I see for sale or mentioned very often and I wanted to throw it out there to you just in case!! 🤘🐀
That is a great substitute first appearance. I recently had the opportunity to get first Zatanna but I did not want a graded copy because she’s hidden on the inside. Still on the look out though!
Nice haul. I made it to Brimfield last year and found a Batman 423 3rd print for $5. Was with my wife, her aunt and my son so I didn't have a lot of time to go digging. Missed the one that just passed but hoping to make it to July or September. 👊🏼
WOW! That place is fantastic, there must be so many gems at a place like that. You don't have to but if you ever come across old figures in particular Robotech from Gakken from the 80's let me know. Thanks again for the content.
Really enjoyed this one. We’re going to be heading up to our states big flea market here in a few weeks and this got me really excited for it. Tons of great pick ups, the Uncanny issues with Longshot on the cover are some of my favorites. 🔥
Good Evening Michael By the way I couldn't believe the covers on the Archie comics, did I see right an early Neil Adams,? But the prices seemed over the top and down the other side. Cheers Al
Can't wait for July and our annual trip to Brimfield. This will be 5th year (cancelled COVID year) and I've never seen that many books at once. Got Daredevil 4 and 6 from a young guy whonwas selling 1 - 100 a couple years ago. We'll be looking for you then!
Yes, sorry I misspoke, I talked about the same book in a previous video, this is the first Blue Beetle SERIES in DC is what I meant to say. Still a cool book. First appearance of Conrad Carapax (later Indestructible man) though!
I have been watching since like your second video. It feels like you have been able to grab a huge chunk of xmen from 100-300. It would be cool maybe a small segment to chart the run of xmen you have been able to get just during the channel and moving forward. Set a community goal and track the progress slowly.
That would be a tough thing to quantify, as I did not do a good job chronicling the ones I got during my channel and the ones in previous years and it all sort of blurs together. My guess is it’s about half and I definitely remember the BIG books, so when I finish the run and do my obligatory video, I’ll definitely highlight the best ones. Thanks for the idea!
Awesome pickups as usual and the cool thing about that Green Lantern is it’s the first DC cover by George Perez, coincidentally I picked it up randomly this weekend randomly
Hi, Mike! I am a new subscriber. I am enjoying your videos and learning more about comic books. I have always liked comics and have been a collector/dealer of collectibles especially baseball etc. In addition, I have recently acquired some golden age comics i e. Dick Tracy, Lil Abner, Patsy Walker, Super Magician and a handful of Captain Marvel Adventures comics. I would love to get your opinion on the comics I have. I am a Buckeye in Western Mass.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I’m getting more into the golden age stuff, it’s a fascinating sector of the hobby though I don’t have too many. The Patsy Walker books are very interesting to me as she started as a teen romance character and then carried over to Marvel superhero books later on, kind of fascinating!

I said the same thing to Jeff, but to be fair to him he already had around 20 short boxes on his tables
Is you mad? Going to report him to the BBB? To the lawyers for breaking ADA?

That was so much fun Alex, you certainly made an already memorable day that much more memorable!
30-50 long boxes!!! I would've completely lost my mind Mike!!!
I probably saw less than half, had to stop somewhere
What a great story, so much more than comics books, great people out there!!!
I'm in the GH group too... well done Chad!!!! 👍
Chads a solid dude! Shout out to Grail Hunters Australia
I was in elementary school when the first Dark Crystal came out in the 80s would love to get a couple of those comics
