I have been watching your videos over the past few days. What I really like is that you focus on the fun of collecting rather than the value and you come across as just a decent guy. Very down to earth. Love your videos.
Your array of "friends" that you run into, in these episodes, is a huge bonus to us watching these episodes. :) It's similar to calling in the local "experts" on those other shows. ;) Thanks again, Mike!
Jeff is becoming a fixture at Brimfield now. And he is in the same field too. Easy to find. Carl said he ran into you again and mentioned that Jeff had new inventory. Saw an Action comics drawn by Neal Adam’s you were just about to leaf through. Can’t beat those!
Lots of ghosts lol. Nice thing about collecting. We are not all looking for the same thing. I would have been all over the DC 100 pagers. I love those. Those are fun
Great books…saw that Action 421 with Capt. Strong (Popeye knockoff) on your flip through…was worried you were going to kickoff the video with a Foghorn Leghorn impersonation….🤣🤣🤣
I was a kid who always liked Captain America, but I was never fond of the film you picked up. I saw it on TV as a kid and found it puzzling even then. First off, the Cap in the movie has nothing to do with WW2. He’s just a dude on a motorcycle with a shield. The film seems to be capitalizing on the popularity of Evel Kenievel more than Captain America! So to me this felt like a movie called Captain America, but had little to do with the character. It might still be a goofy fun watch though if you go in with low expectations.
I’ve watched the captain America movies several times as a kid and always got plenty of enjoyment from it. You got a nice haul and two sweet looking statues
TMNT is the best one in my opinion,(on this episode) I love how they were gritty and a little bit edgy. The new series that is out where they start off separated has my FULL attention. Can't wait to pick up #4 this week AND go on a hunt for that issue one that you just found!!!! Although the X Men were cool as well I loved the Onslaught storyline. I actually have that First appearance. LOVE IT.
Wow what an awesome looking day at Brimfield! It’s crazy that they keep making new sections, and honestly it looked fun going through the pile in the truck. I’ll have to go one day to get some of those great deals!
Just got through Comics Truck Video #3!! Always cool to see what new in the Truck. Glad to see you got another STRANGE ADVENTURES!!! Loved the crazy cover on the 5th pr. Turtles # 1 !! In awe of the Cerebus guesting issue, which I still want to read some day!!
Looks like a fun day at the flea market! It does seem like prices can run higher at them, but you can still find great deals and great books. The Zatanna book, by far, is my favorite out of your haul. Thanks for the video!
Looks like the second one, costumes fairly right. First one,I guess with that particular origin, it's understandable why they changed it,but not HOW...like a weird Charlton knock off or something!!
PS I love love love the magic comic. Reminds me a bit of the old Thurstin the Magician posters that featured demons. Good get. Not jealous but yeah maybe just a little. Great video. Was fun to see all the stuff Aliens!!!!!
CAPTAIN AMERICA and its sequel, CAPTAIN AMERICA II: DEATH TO SOON (both 1979) were released on DVD (I have it). Great price on those PVC statues. I'm glad you got a decent price after you did the digging. Nothing is more annoying that doing a bunch of searching, only to have the seller try to get top dollar.
Man, I never TMNT here in the midwest and I wish I did. Grew up with those books but what we had is lost to time. As cheesey as tha Cap movie is I love it, great find! Love that truck and digging! I would lose so much time in that truck or go to fast trying to see it all and miss stuff. That happened just this weekend to me, oh well. Fun video Mike!👍
That looks like a lot of fun digging in that truck. It reminds me of the days when I was a Boy Scout and we collected papers for recycling and we had a big semi that we loaded the papers into. I imagine there was some other great vines in that box or should I say those boxes inside the truckthanks for sharing the video
Great show! Love seeing that Captain America 100. And when you dig through the stacks and you see a bunch of books that you personally have it's really fun. I am not a X-Men collector at all I probably have 10 to 20 books at the most but the ones you showed I have a few of. The fact that the consciousness of magneto and and doctor Xavier blended together to create a super villain always fascinated me. That's why I have those few books. I always wondered why they didn't blend and create a hero also that would defeat the villain?
That was a lot of Bronze Age Fantastic Four at the start, I would definitely have bought those comics if their condition was solid - they were from one of my favourite periods of the title. I saw the Cap movie on tv soon after its release; I remember being singularly unimpressed at the way the film screwed around with his origin. The movie felt like what a non-comics reading writer and director thought a Cap movie should be like, not really a movie about Cap but a kid-friendly action movie which happened to feature him; it could just as easily have featured any number of other comics heroes instead. Gray Morrow was an exceptional artist, and not just in comics: he had a distinguished career doing SF and Fantasy paperback covers too.
Great video!!! Looks like you had a great time at the flea market. Great haul of comics and other stuff. You definitely got a deal on everything you purchased. Keep up the great work. 😎
Unfortunately I somehow missed the "comic truck" and Doug. I did half of Brimfield Tuesday and the other half Friday. I found one booth that had $1 boxes where I picked up quite a few issues of AD&D and Dragonlance, a Batman Sword of Azrael set, and a couple very minor keys (55 issues total). I picked up about 5 other issues from all the rest of the flea market. All that walking was good exercise. Anyway, good to see you there although you dispelled my image of you as a company rep (since you have to travel around for your job). His and Hers Comics and the Western Massachusetts Comic Book Show made up for the slim pickings at Brimfield. Isn't that Captain America movie the one with rubber ears?
i get the camera thing when working. I use to stream myself pressing and cleaning comics for people. While it was fun for a bit, it kept getting in the way of me enjoying myself working on peoples books. Once i stopped streaming and just worked on books, i enjoyed it way more and started to relax more as i wasn't worried about the camera anymore.

One of the Action Comics that you flipped by is one of my favourite issues (I don't think it's worth anything, so no loss!) it's story about Superman's Satanic Son ha!

Haha I don’t know a lot of these, but I’ll try: no clue on value, maybe 4000 comics (I’ve parted with a lot of the bulk), less than 30 slabs, several X-men related runs, lots of silver (my favorite), not much gold at all, and no errors or recalls as far as I know. Kind of vague but hope that sates your curiosity a bit!

i love the sound of old bags peeling apart
There’s something inexplicably amazing about it. Personal favourite is (I think) polyethylene bags
I just don't like the ones where the flaps are kept open and they kind of feeling like rummaging through weeds 😆
1:01 the way Jeff says “Mike!” Was very cinematic 😅 pure breathless joy seeing ya.
