@@maxkrepps9474 No matter which one all ends are boring because it doesn't make any sense with Dutch going crazy and Arthur following him and trying to fix things. I would have prefered Arthur giving up on Dutch, taking the crew with him and the game ending in a duel between Arthur and Dutch with no TB at all. Arthur being abandonned by Dutch and keeping having his back is a pure joke.

@@maxkrepps9474 It's not the bad writing, it doesn't make any sense and it makes Arthur looks pretty dumb after hours of playing this character. If Arthur would make things right as the story says, he didn't do what it would take for that. But I understand what you mean and at least, they didn't make us playing Micah like we had to play Abby in the last of us II. I almost didn't finish the game as it was very upseting.
Rockstar Manager: Okay we have planned for and added every conceivable detail that most players will never see, added hidden cutscenes for different outcomes for quests. Can anyone think of something we forgot to add? RS Employee: what if the player wins the knife fight against Micah at the end? Rockstar Manager: lol you’re funny! As if THAT would ever happen!
That's. Bullshit Micah is an a****** through the whole game through the whole game he doesn't deserve to be in it and I don't appreciate him killing Arthur it's not right the ending sucks I hate this game because of that Arthur should have lived!!!! 😡🤬
Caeser was killed by something like 5 stabs, the fatal one to his groin. Then, after he was dead, others stepped in and sticked their knives into him too, and smeared themselfs with his blood, so that outside before the people, they could proclaim they also were involved in bringing an end to the reign of Caesar, the great tryant.
Indeed, and Micah was stabbed in possibly one of the worse parts of the body, the kidney area, this was deadly if it was done correctly. Micah would not even been able to do much because of that stabbing. Micah may have managed to survive it (very unlikely because of where they were). Even if Micah had managed to kill Arthur, his own death was likely minutes away. It would been a very painful and disabling death.
I started playing RDR2 faithfully from storyline in April 2020. I finished it around mid August. I completed most of the secret maps etc. and found all the gold there was to find. I really didn't know till to late about honor nor did I really care. I helped many who needed help along the way and when I robbed for money to survive I'd usually tie them up and loot them and take their horse if it was better than the one I had. I kept two at the stables in Valentine one being the horse from the old civil war veteran Hamish Sinclair, who lived in a cabin up on the lake in the mountains and a black Arabian I stole. Hamish was killed by a wild bore the day he and I went hunting. He gave me his horse. So as respect I kept him and rode him now and then. The one I rode though the game mostly was a male quarter horse I named Banjo. So when Micah killed me up on that mountain ledge that dreadful morning before sunrise I was buried with a black coyote standing at my grave. I like to when I'm home from being out of town working, play the game just to unwind and it helps to ease my mind and gives me peace from the craziness that's going on in this country and throughout the world. I can just ride out and enjoy the vast country, hunt, fish. I saved my games so if i want i can go visit old friends. If i want to talk to sweetheart Sadie I will play the early part of the epilogue. RIP Arthur Morgan!
Never hated a character to the core like Micah. In my 2nd plythru he is the only person in camp that I triple antagonize every chance I get, and I can't tell ya how many times I've held my guns up to his head and wish the game would let the lil dot turn red!
@@jake-7945 Apparently UA-cam had a problem with my answer to you and took it down. There are several videos that show you how to do this without triggering the mission. Start a fight with someone in Strawberry so you'll have a mild "wanted" level. When the cops leave the sheriff office, head inside and downstairs, the mission will be "unavailable" and grayed out. You can dispose of Micah, get his gun, leave town and come back to do it as often as you like.
It would be a facinating experience if by the time we get a rdr3 Rockstar creates a story so vast and so open that you change the outcome in as many different ways as you want. rdr2 was great but there were things about the story and ending that were set in stone no matter what like Arthur's contraction of TB and eventual death. But imagine a rdr game where Rockstar accounts for the butterfly effect of every single choice you make so you could get any of 100+ unique endings. Idek if that would be possible but it would be awesome
Games like Papers please and anything tell tale do that so it would be easy if anything for rockstar, but, cmon Arthur would have to die eventually but maybe a bit more valiant like saving John at the end of rd1
That's funny! I'm about to sell all of my best horses and switch to my temporary horse for the last couple missions in chapter 6. I have to meet Micha's ratsnakeass in Annesburg to kill Cornwall now. Can't put it off any longer. This sux.
Idea: If Arthur did survive the encounter, he went with John to live a new life for the remaining time he has, as he still has TB. Arthur helps in making Beechers Hope what it is, and near the end, is a cutscene like in Red Dead Redemption, where it just changes to a grave in front of John. The final mission of the epilogue is to hunt down Dutch and Micah (or one of them) as a bounty from Sadie, which you can finally get the money.
Rockstar made a mistake here, it was 1899, there were treatments for consumption (TB). These treatments weren't true cures, but it did prolong and healthy people like Arthur may have managed to overcome it. Consumption weakens and causes the body to lose weight, it is this more than the lungs that ends up killing you. However by 1899, treatments were around and because of Saint-Denis, they would have had them. Here Rockstar made a historical mistake.
@@isaaccarter9007 true, but then I was just mentioning if Arthur got away when Dutch walked away from Micah, and I doubt Arthur would have been able to kill Micah (even though you can in game if you dodge every hit). If John decided to come back for Arthur, it would be a different story
Why is Arthur being killed??? Although there are 2 ends, they left Arthur to die on the mountain. This is the other. Micah. Not strong at the end of the game with a few shots and die..
I think an interesting, alternative ending, would be Arthur and John leave together, they get away, but Arthur takes a turn for the worse and John takes him to a hospital in Saint Denis. Kinda like the ending of the movie Tombstone where Doc Holiday slowly dies from TB while Wyatt visits him every now and then. John could visit Arthur every now and then until he passes. Arthur could even ask John with his dying breath to kill Micah, and being John he would do it. Thus we still get the same ending with playing as John but Arthur live a little longer and john could have had some different dialog with Micah and Dutch on the mountain like them claiming Arthur died the night of the Pinkerton raid but John tell Dutch the truth about Arthur living till the TB overtook him and asked John to kill Micah. Just a thought i had just now.

*I KNOW THIS IS LONG BUT ABOUT A QUARTER WAY IN I GIVE AN EXPLANATION AND ALTERNATIVE ENDING FOR ARTHUR THAT I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR EVERYONE'S OPINION ON...... THANKS FOR YOUR TIME IN ADVANCE!:)* First though to IQ Nsoor...... THANK YOU BRO! Wanted to see Arthur get the upper hand in the end..... even if it didn't really count! Rockstar gets you this invested into a character, then gives him the most unsatisfactory ending of a game I have personally ever played (well, except for Joel from TLOU but I don't count that one considering I never played it because in my mind TLOU2 was never made)! To be completely honest, I STILL haven't made it past the point where the game finally forces you to go get TB! When I first played it, I avoided the Downes farm like the......... Tuberculosis. I'm not one that cares about "spoilers". I would rather watch videos and get the most out of a game by making as few mistakes early as possible, getting the best start as possible, and squeezing every ounce of fun from it even on the first playthrough..... so as expected I learned what happened to Arthur in the end and how it started (here's where I'm hearing everyone say, "how's that not caring about spoilers thing working out for ya"). So, even with the relatively short amount of time I spent as Arthur, when the time came to go to the Downes farm...... I just shook my head, saved the game, and said "F THAT..... I'M NOT GETTING TB!" and never went back to it. The other day I had a video pop up in my suggestion list about RDR2 and I thought, man that game was great! Well, right up to the moment it was forcing me to go catch a terminal disease I didn't even get to get "the fun way" from like a hooker or something..... no, I had to get taken out by some guy coughing in my face, but whatever, I digress. Anyway, I decided to give it another try to see if I am willing to get TB when the time comes...... I seriously doubt it, but even if I don't, its still a blast to play even up to that point! Arthur may have done things in his life that earned him a death scene at the end of the game but ABSOLUTELY deserved better than the one he was given. He was a typical normal young man that was forced on his own with life dealing him a bad hand which hardened him. Then, with his remaining years on earth going from unknown to painfully visible, it caused him to take immediate stock of his life (as it usually does). He didn't like the view and realized in order to change HIS view he needed to first start with the view of OTHERS by trying to make things as right as he can WHILE he can! That's a character that deserves a bit better ending than being surrounded by the two worst people in his life standing over him as "the winners" when they are the ones that deserved Arthurs end! Again, IMO, the last scene with Arthur could have still been very close to the same but with two MUCH MORE SATISFYING differences (and a BETTER feeling of "closure") as follows (basic thoughts here remember); Dutch shows up and steps on the gun and after Arthur and Micah make their case, Dutch raises his head to Micah telling him "You EARN "number two" in this gang..... it isn't GIVEN." (basically see's Arthur in his weakened state and does this as a gesture to a dying Arthur "the right to die like a man" believing Micah to be the one to win). Arthur gives him a nod, Dutch looks up at a confident Micah and he lifts his foot off the gun, Arthur and Micah look at each other, both raise their guns and the screen goes black as you hear one shot. It comes back and in a close up of Dutch's face, he goes from no expression to wide eyed because as the smoke is clearing you see Micah, with blood squirting from a recent hole put in his neck, falling backwards off the cliff! Micah's last moments in the realization that not only was the A hole not even good enough to beat Arthur ON ARTHUR'S DEATH BED, but he is being sent on one last mission, AND BY ARTHUR, to check if gravity still works (FYI..... it does)! :) Dutch looks down and starts to draw his gun but see's Arthur is one fine motor skill away from making it a twofer. Arthur says, "I'm not leaving this world owing you a damn thing..... but NOW YOU DO OWE ME (leaving him alive knowing Dutch has the money and taking one last gamble that he can maneuver it into the hands of John)! Then says, "You go on and live out whatever miserable existence you want, BUT...... 1. YOU WILL LEAVE THE REST ALONE! 2. YOU WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS THAT WHEN YOUR MISERABLE LIFE ENDS, ON THE SMALL CHANCE THERE'S ANYTHING LEFT, JOHN, ABIGAIL, AND JACK GET IT ALL..... BECAUSE WE BOTH KNOW LETTING THEM HAVE IT IS THE ONLY REAL CHANCE THE VAN DER LINDE GANG IS EVER REMEMBERED FOR ANYTHING BEYOND "PATHETIC AND POINTLESS" AND DUTCH, OUR EFFORTS AND SACRIFICES WON'T HAVE BEEN FOR NOTHING (adding a dash of ego seasoning)! Dutch nods his head, turns to walk away and then Arthur crawls to the edge to watch the sunrise for the last time. THEN, the second change, John gets a message from Dutch to meet him at Micah's cabin. Dutch has ideas of finishing it all but when John arrives Arthurs voice starts echoing in Dutch's head. He opens the door, stares at John for a bit then starts walking towards him. Then with the voice of Arthur still in Dutch's head, he just walks by John and says "Take it..... its all yours". When John says "thank you". Dutch about out of view says, "Don't thank me...... thank Arthur". A bit confused John goes into the cabin and raises the lid to the chest to see the money and gold. John removes Arthurs hat, looks at it while memories of Arthur begin to flash slow to fast until the moment Arthur places the hat on Johns head (which coincides with John replacing it), and when the screen goes black you hear John say, "THANK YOU..... BROTHER"! Then while the credits roll you see the images of him returning home and then getting married etc........ I don't know about anyone else but that would have been an ending I wouldn't mind as much reaching! Wow, that was much more than I planned on...... I actually had to "scroll" to get to the top of this! SMH. I don't know why I got so into it just now (maybe it has a bit to do with the whole "Joel" thing from the last of us too but I just think characters that you are meant to get that invested in, should have better endings where you aren't feeling a little "cheated" when its all over (or A LOT cheated where Joel is concerned). Again, this is just my opinion and the ramblings of an idiot. Sorry to those of you still here!:)
They need to make some kind of update with a secret ending or AU side game thing were Arthur lives and slowly recovers from TB , He is my favorite video game character of all time and him dyeing was just hard .
There should have been an alternative ending where Arthur fatally wounds Micah and they both bleed out as Dutch looks over them and walks away and Arthur looks at the sunset and also dies along Micah. And for the epilogue ending John, Sadie, and charles find out that Dutch is still alive and try to kill him but fail, This brings us to Red Dead Redemption 1 where John ultimately kills Dutch.
i never wanted arthur to die but i knew he had to, i wouldnt have him go any other way but the good ending, to me that was a perfect way for him to go and cry myself to sleep till 3am in the morning lol but it was powerful- and made me very upset for days, i still get upset and literally cry about it if i think about it too much, my only regret is not being able to play it for the first time again.
@@wadecornell2034 .. bro you play like 100h on this btw its realistic and when really good man and + its your main character dies bc of rat its really really sad
Best ending Arthur finds a box of thin mints and eats them in the mission money lending and other sins and doesn’t get TB and then micha gets caught and killed on gaurma
I killed Micah in the end, it took just one punch up on that ledge. It was extremely fun to kill him, but the game wasn't ammused as it stalled and left me trapped on there within a small invisible box :(
I'm just saying, the game kinda nerfs Arthur here, not necessarily with TB, but there's many ways you could snuff Micah here and they're inaccessible, take it from a PvP player, there's a grab you can achieve (way easier on NPCs) that let's you throw the enemy, a full second in that fire and he's out like a light, literally.
If It was optional to choose to leave Micah in strawberry or Send Micah to collect the debt of Downes I would do it i rather lose all my honor in that and boost it back to full honor just by going to St Denis
It is possible to kill him it just takes forever he has 1200 health and i think he used a mod to make the time infinite bcs theres only i think one minute in order to kill him but someone has done it before it is possible
They should of made a dlc where it had a alternate ending where Arthur never caught tb, left the gang when he noticed Dutch started to become unhinged and turned crazy, took the money and split it with John, Charles, Sadie, Tilly, Mary-Beth, etc, became a bounty hunter and hunted down Micah in a epic chase scene/ final showdown, and married sadie
This underscores why this game sucks. It is a linear game with player choices being FORCED down a rat maze. You can't avoid getting TB from Tom Downes. In fact when Mary's letter shows up on the table at Arthur's bunk you can't even go back there to sleep because approaching the bed triggers the letter and then you HAVE to go beat Downes because you can't do anything else. Redemption doesn't mean Arthur has to die. Redemption can mean he FINALLY sees how depraved a life he's lived, sees Dutch for what he is, a narcissistic sociopath who only really cares for himself and then Arthur abandons Dutch and the whole twisted mess. It means he starts a righteous life and turns away from his old life. His death DOES NOT redeem him. But starting a new life where he is a good man, as upstanding pillar in his community known for his generosity and willingness to help out, THAT is true redemption. Another thing that bugs me about the "good ending". TB only killed about 15% of those that got it and that 15% were composed of old sickly people or those sickly folks at high risk. They always died after lingering for weeks, even months, bedridden and gasping for air until acidosis caused them to go into a coma and die. Arthur was light-year's away from that. People in good health like Arthur would beat it if he got plenty of rest preferably in a dry climate. And he has a healthy woman that loves him who would help him, Mary. It is how she repays him for all the help he gave her. Who rescues the savagely beaten Arthur? The Indian Chief where his people treat his injuries and get him on his feet. Arthur takes his money, which is enough to start a new life, goes to Mary and takes her west, way west, to California where she nurses him to health. Arthur is where no one knows his past. He changes his name to Arthur Goodman. He eventually buys a ranch, the two get married and have a couple or 3 kids. He lives a peaceful happy life, becomes a beloved member of the small town where they live and when he dies of old age the whole town shows up to mourn his passing. Now THAT is true redemption. What about the other gang members? They assume he was killed. No body turns up but with all the dead up in Murfree country it's not surprising considering how the smell of death would invite wolves, bears and cougars to supper. Arthur's story ends. John's begins. As much as Rockstar did to create a visually stunning game and richly capture the wild west at the turn of the century, with all the effort they put into this game, it has fatal flaws that made me actually hate the game's so called RPG aspect. An RPG means the player gets to write his/her ending by picking among many endings like Witcher 3 had. It not only adds to the game's replayability but it is much more satisfying, a real RPG experience. The other major flaw was the endless numbers of what amounted to be one scavenger hunt after another after another and they were all boring and tedious. I found the challenges to be particularly stupid and amateurish. Not only do they break completely out of the RPG of the game but having to do each one in order? It's ridiculous. Particularly ridiculous is that Arthur can do all but a few of the herbs challenges for example but can't finish because some are in the Blackwater area where a mysterious omnipresent omniscient sniper shooting from the sky always kills Arthur. Yeah, that's real, NOT! Even clever workarounds we're patched by Rockstar because they couldn't let Arthur solve all the challenges because it screws up their pointless narrative. Arthur does all the work but John benefits as though John had done it. That is RPG at its absolute worst! Besides, why bother to finish the challenges with John benefitting off Arthur's work to get the outfit of the east for the brief epilogue where John would use it? Arthur is the one that needs it and he does 99% of the work to get it so John benefits with his short epilogue. Stupid and definitely NOT RPG. Bottom line, Rockstar, you need better writers if you intend a RDR3 because your story sucked with such pointless inflexibility that qualifies your game as nothing more than a movie we have no control over, and it is a movie I would not pay to see in theaters. Replace the pointless scavenger hunts with a plethora more missions that make sense in the game, i.e. part of the story.
I get it would be wholesome and all if Micah dies to Arthur but really, it would ruin the story line if he dies there then well, you won’t be able to play as John unless it pulled so GTA5 stuff which then would miss 30% of the story and you wouldn’t get the ending where John shoots Micah with a whole clip of ammunition
I hate that we lose Arthur.... But he wouldn't be as special if he had lived. Feeling like we truly lost someone we grew to really care for. That was the point I think. We love Arthur and it crushed us when we finally completed that final mission with him. We wouldn't have the urge of vengeance and venom we have for how things played out if he had stayed alive and well. I want it that way too. Losing our friend is what makes it count and gets into our hearts. Could have been all the same if all went well with Arthur riding into the sunset. Still iconic, still legendary. But after that, what do we feel we owe the character that had a happy ending. This way there is no ending. Our hatred for those who wronged him, and the Love for our character is what keeps Arthur alive. Even years after we avenged him through John. It wouldn't mean as much, and it wouldn't sink in the way it has if gone the other way. Best character ever developed in my opinion!!

@@chapmanmccollum6291 its not, probably one of the best endings ive seen in media

Well now we know that micas weakness is 10000 stabs to his kidney
Micah finds it hard to land a hit on Arthur even when he is sooo weak from tb
'Cause his a weak bastard.
That's said the game itself. And I will notice he's weak how morality and so physically.
The amount of stabs he takes makes the assassination of Julius Caesar look fun and sweet in comparison
Julius wasn't a rat!!
Imagine if a player actually killed Micah on the first playthrough and thought that was the end of the game
Micah's plot armour wasn't strong enough 😂

Yeah but if arthur kills micah you'll have 40k anyway. So there'd be no need to collect the bounty on micahs head.
What?

Again, IMO, the last scene with Arthur could have still been very close to the same but with two MUCH MORE SATISFYING differences (and a BETTER feeling of "closure") as follows (basic thoughts here remember);
Dutch shows up and steps on the gun and after Arthur and Micah make their case, Dutch raises his head to Micah telling him "You EARN "number two" in this gang..... it isn't GIVEN." (basically see's Arthur in his weakened state and does this as a gesture to a dying Arthur "the right to die like a man" believing Micah to be the one to win).
Micah's last moments in the realization that not only was the A hole not even good enough to beat Arthur ON ARTHUR'S DEATH BED, but he is being sent on one last mission, AND BY ARTHUR, to check if gravity still works (FYI..... it does)! :)
Dutch looks down and starts to draw his gun but see's Arthur is one fine motor skill away from making it a twofer.

You are right, the game is linear and does not depend on skill or creativity of the player or multiple endings and this is really unfortunate
So you believe the epilogue is more important than Arthur?. You have disappointed me outlaw
If he died then a couple of days after he will die to the sickness I think
Arthur gets shot in the arm “ARRGH” also Arthur: gets stabbed 400times and is like ow
There is anator way to mace Arthur stile alive do every mission just don't do the last won
I honestly think it’s a glitch/overlooked part since it takes so long and so many stabs to kill him maybe they thought no one would try for that long which explains why you can’t go anywhere afterwards.
Most people: skip to micah dying
Me: Watches every time arthur stabs with satisfaction
I dont understand how micha doesnt get tb like come on 10:30 that knife that arther is using has arthers blood on it
Micah doesn't live long enough to get TB
Micah:Black lung
Arthur:You godam dirty thing
Idc how many endings there is going with John and having high honour is the canon ending
If I had it my way, Micah stays in jail and Downes keeps his money
the best nsoor up
