Thx again! Very helpfull. OT Holland ruled today 😊
You got it! Watching that match now hehe. Just finished brazil croatia.. what an ending!
Good Setup! I see the groms all the time on their pushies and often thought about my log on a bike - I'm going to have a dig at a setup!
Thanks!
Yes! I see the kids around here all the time biking but it's typically with a shortboard. Always wondered what it was like with a log... now I know
These are just such amazing well made videos!! I’m super impressed as always.
Thanks so much!!
Great video. We go over to Cocoa Beach to long board. We'll my 12 year old daughter. I just float and bob with the gopro. After my accident can't really surf anymore. But still working on that part.
Anyway really enjoy your channel. This gives me an idea next time we go over to the coast. See if we can't make a side car, ebike with a 2 board rack. Then I wouldn't feel so bad making my daughter petal while I sit in the side car.😉👍 🏄♀️🏄♂️. Now to convince my wife .
haha! Hey, I bet you have a lot of fun watching your daughter at least. I bet it also drives you crazy watching the wave go by and you're not on em
@@LongboardSessions So true. Went back up to Newport RI last summer and showed her 1st beach. I was having so many flash backs of when I was a kid. Why is it we remember the face plants in the sand wipe outs more? 🤔
So great! Really good idea, and really good installation on the bike! Nice!
Thanks bro!!
I've been considering a rack for my bike to avoid the parking issues in my area. This video came at the perfect time to prepare for the summer.
Oh that's awesome! Look into their surfboard trailers as well.. could be another good option.
I have that same rack on my Honda motorcycle. I love it!
It works great hauling my boards from 5'10" to the 11'er in the picture. I always get parking at my spot, speed limit posted is for 30mph and no worries.
now that's the way to get around haha! Surfboard + motorcycle... sounds like a dream
🌋Yup🤙🌴
One of the coolest setups I’ve seen had a pivoting trailer clip off the seat post that clamped to the nose with a set of wheels clip on the tail. Thus the board becomes the trailer body. There are more framed longitudinal trailers designed for sup
Yes iv'e seen those, they look awesome! Might be a little more annoying to set up, but probably great for longer rides
That’s the rack I use- it’s epic for short and longboards
It really is a well thought out rack for sure. I love it
We do this in Cardiff by the sea all the time. Wear a Helmet! Make sure that back rack isnt just in wood those bolts will blow out eventually. Trailers are a pain on top of having the board. I would do a lockable box for storage on the back or side.
Yes helmet for sure.. currently looking for one hehe. The rear bolts are not just in the wood, but also through the frame of the rack so I feel pretty confident with that. Back storage seems like a great idea too for those long summer days at the beach
Yep. That, and being able to park further away from the beach (if you don't live int e neighborhood) saves a lot of stress too with the ebike! Put the same movedbybikes setup on a a Lectric and am beyond pscyhed with it.
Yes good point! The e-bike / moved by bikes rack is such a good system
This is sick dude, up untill recently I did not have my car so I had to bike to the beach, I used a mechanical one but it was only a mile distance, I also used a shortboard surf rack and it looked funny as hell, anyone reading this make sure you get a longboard rack because my surfboard got small cracks in it from the rides
Thanks Justin! Yea I wonder if putting your board in a bag for the rides would protect it. The bunjees worked well keeping it from bouncing it a round, but a bag would be double protection
@@LongboardSessions I ended up getting a bag for the car and it helps so much, wish i thought of it sooner
For longer distances, get a trailer. You could even rig it up for some extra battery power!
Back in the moped days, a buddy of mine had a sweet trailer rig!
I love the trailer idea! The same company makes a trailer too... might be a good idea for my longer trips
Always appreciate and embrace the crazy😅!
This reminds me of a homemade board rack I made for my bike 3 years ago while living in spain… hmmm, I think I will rebuild it and start using it again🤙🤙
haha yes! Hey if you build your own rack then all you have to do is build a bike. Then you can put your surfboard you built on the rack and bike you built😂
@@LongboardSessions 😆😆🤙
Great video and idea. I recently got a rack for my DR650 motorcycle and its so fun to ride to the beach on a bike. Turns some heads here in Michigan LOL
Thanks!! Haha that's great.. that's the way to do it
I do it - but only on days where the wind is light!
Smart haha! Wind didn't seem to effect this setup much tho.. the bike is heavy so I imagine that helps a bit
the feature at 1.46 is MASSIVE, I dont have to destroy my bike with surf rack 😍. unfortunately they dont ship to australia :(
Yes! Works so well. Maybe you can find a used one that someone can ship
You can make trailer for your longboard with a modified golf buggy .
oh wow.. great use of an old one haha!
Do this to get to rock away beach all the time. I can get from south Brooklyn to rock away w an 8 ft log np
Oh sweet! How long is the ride?
nice, but how to deal with rust though and where to lock the bike at the beach?
Well rust will happen for sure. Keep the chain and all metal parts well lubed and that will help. Locking up at the beach is an issue for sure. Where I live i'm fairly comfortable throwing a lock on and I don't have to worry about it. No one really steals bikes around here.
Great video! Do you use some kind of lockbox for your phone/valuables? If so would love to hear your recommendations. I also wonder about certain hills and how a longboard might scrape the ground?
Well, I havent figured out a way to keep the valuables safe while on the bike yet. Just a backpack that I leave on the beach. I also wouldn't worry about the board scraping on the ground, not with my setup atleast. Little to no chance of that happening hehe. I'm more likely to ram it straight into something
@@LongboardSessions haha.. thanks for the reply! love your vids and looking forward to seeing that surf documentary one day
Hello! I am living 5 miles away from the beach and I have a 9 feet longboard… do you think it’s still possible? I have been debating with myself if I should do it or it’s gonna be a bad idea hehe. Thanks
A normal bike or electric bike? That will make a difference haha! You can do it for sure.. but that ride home might be very tiring and cold
What kind of board are you riding..Great channel
Thanks bob! Currently on a 9'6" COS chingona
Sweet setup! Do you lock up the bike when you take it to the beach to surf? There's a lot of theft in my area, and I know my bike would be gone in minutes after getting into the water.
Yes I will lock it for sure. If I can't, i'll bring it on the beach so I can keep an eye on it
@@LongboardSessions Good call!
I live 2 miles from the beach and have also been considering this as an option with my longboard, but how do you secure the bike when you're out surfing?
You'd have to get a u-lock or something decent to not have to worry about it. Certain waves here do have bike racks that we can lock it. I also wouldn't mind leaving it on the beach as long as I can see it.
@@LongboardSessions what I found particularly interesting about your video was that you weren't affected by the wind, which has always concerned me with a 9ft 6 in board strapped to a bike. I'm guessing that when you did your trial, you didn't go out on a particularly windy day?
I prefer a trailer, less cross wind issues and no obstruction one one side should you need to get off or stabilize quickly.
Falling onto your board on a gravel road could be nasty and expensive.
Length is the one handicap
Also traditional womens bikes - no cross bar - are the best. not sure how that plays out with the E bikes.
Yea I saw another comment about the trailer. Seems like an awesome setup. I believe himiway makes some of the women's bikes with no cross bar. My mother in law has an e-bike with no cross bar.. that thing is awesome
Helmet?
Yep, need one
