That sudden panicked look left and right as you realize you just skipped through a star. Don't worry has happened to everyone atleast once. I miss those days. Kinda.
@@SegoeUIBold You have to try it in VR, especially on a headset with OLED screen(s), it's so far the only game that actually kinda blew my mind when I saw all the things in 3D after being used to seeing them on a flat screen
Jumping into an unexpected close binary is always terrifying... Unless you're flying a Dolphin. Dolphin commanders just honk and start charging the next jump :P
Oh intrusive memories are flooding back... Had this happen once, a glitched exit out of hyperspace caused me to spawn _inside_ of a star, and me, instead of simply hitting the throttle I panicked and hard crashed the game. The next day when I manned up to log back in I found myself in the same situation, only this time out of supercruise and completely stationary, with temperature rapidly shooting up. I tried to apply the aforementioned step now but my ship, having to start from zero, after 15 months of exploration and without a single heat sink left, with cuts and bruises on various systems, had other ideas. In other words I've watched 15 months of work burn up in front of my eyes, in slow-mo, somewhere in the ass-end of Milky Way.
Shit like that is what stops me from trying to explore. Regular jumps scare me as is even 10 years later, but seeing two or more stars as I enter new system is a whole other level of stress.
"Fuel at 400%"
"Well how about that?..."
*BOOM*
I imagine the boom was the ship becoming a miniature sun?
"I understood that reference."
"Multiple suns detected"
"Warning! Fuel scoop operating beyond safety limits!"

I love how you can literally see the moment the person is like WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?
Playing this game in VR is AMAZING when you jump into a new system.
I bet it is, but I haven't tried it yet, I'm looking around by clicking middle mouse.

I once jumped and ended up inside the star. Hopefully extraction zone only works one way

This is exactly what happened to me. Jumped through a star, it scared me so bad that I jumped out of my seat screaming and uninstalled the game.
Are there gas planets in this game?
