I own a 2008 Yaris hatch and I'm at 103,000miles now. That engine and trans are both very robust and trouble free. The interior is VERY nice in that 17' and packed with tons of new safety features. Well worth the price and reliable as can be!
My old 2006 1.0 vvti did 120,000 miles and the ONLY expensive thing I had to do was alternator 350$ original Toyota parts in 2014. Sine then just oil and filters. But.. Don't expect this reliability from the non vvti engines of the new lines. The CVT and hybrids can suck my ass.
7:30 See the footrest on the left? The carpet is so thin you will wear a bald spot into the rug, as well as in the mat itself. Get WeatherTech mats for the front. They fit perfectly and cover the foot rest area as well. You can even hook them onto the Toyota hooks that are already in the rug, so you don't have to rip up the rug to put in the WT hooks. But this time a manual 6. The 2013 was a manual 5. And I don't know if I'm the stupid one and can't drive after 16 years of having a licence and owned 6 cars, or the 2015 yaris is just weird. My problem is whenever I switch gears while driving, any gear 5 to 6, or 3 to 4 or down 5 to 3, the car makes this kinda irritating motion, like I stutter (sorry about my English), which isn't smooth. I think it's 3ither my foot work, how I use the clutch or it's just how the car is. My old company's Fiat doblo 1.4 petrol 6 speed shifts smoothly, like there's seem less transition. But this yaris, which only has 37, 000 miles, isn't smooth when shifting. Anyone?
@@BOG0690 both. It's like I either can't find proper spot for the clutch when shifting. Tho when I drive a Fiat van, smooth always, I don't even press gas when shifting especially downhill. The new yaris 4 in my country starts from 15,000$ which is insane given its the lowest spec. Actually, no specs to speak of. I prefer the front, back and interior to yaris 3. But wtf is that side hip on the rear wheels? Looks like the yaris has an obesity problem. Designer must have snorted drugs.... Anyway... A yaris is a good car, reliable, dull af to drive, lackluster interior materials cheap af, but most buy a yaris for 2 reasons. A to B, and reliability of Toyota. Not sure how that reliability stands now that vvti engines no longer in the line. CVT and other hybrid shit only. Not fun to drive (had a 2006 1.0, 2013 and 2015 1.33. Recently tried a 2019 1.5 vvtie. Well, better, still dull. 1.33 is bad on gas, avg 6l, motorway eats 6 on a straight and over 9L!!! On uphill motorway. It's insanity. With a light foot in town and outskirts without jams and stops, you can easily do under 5L, I do 4.5 on my road to work. Also, yaris, as it's Toyota is super expensive to service, and not just in Toyota. Parts are expensive too. Reliability is fine, but if something breaks, it can be extremely pricey. 4 speed auto in 2017? I understand that it will be very reliable but still A 4 SPEED AUTO?
Michael Earll I don't mind it one bit. You can manually select the gear ranges
In Europe you only have 1.0 liter 5 speed manual, 1.5 liter CVT Trans, 1.5 Liter 5 speed manual and 1.5 liter Hybris with CVT
Better than any CVT and will probably last four times as long.
I see there's a camera at the upper front windscreen, does Yaris also have auto driver assist and pedestrian pre-collision system as well?
William Jones probably not pedestrian collision prevention, this is a very affordable car but it needs an experienced and alert driver
