just wanted to say thanks for all the content, i like your style of talking through the points. Ive watched all your videos and you answered a bunch of my questions in the past. happy holidays and look forward to more of your videos. Cheers from North Carolina
Good to have another review of speakers at this price range. Always positive when looking to scale up from entry level ELAC’s to find more to consider than B&W. Thank you.
Well done review. Honesty is the best policy. I have visited my local "Best Buy" many times. Although the listening rooms are far from perfect and the speakers are not positioned ideally, all the workers there always prefer B&W. The turnover of these emplyees is extremely high and such that I don't remember seeing the same guy twice. They don't have SVS on display. Anyway, I think I would buy the B&W 606 S3 over these. The B&W speakers are crystal clear and you can pick out every instrument. I mostly listen to orchestral music like Brahms, Beethoven Mahler, etc. So far, I'm leaning towards the ELAC Debut 3.0 DB63-BK. Bang for the buck. Thanks again.
Thanks for the Video. I will keep them on the List for my next Upgrade. Got to get a proper Amp for them aswell. Any Recommendations that dont crush the Budget?
The structure of your reviews ought to be an object lesson for the other audio reviewers on UA-cam, especially the ones whom you humorously referenced at the beginning of your review. You're the only one who stresses imaging - and particularly - the ability of speakers to disappear.
Which speaker sounds better at lower volumes 65-75 db Svs Ultra Evo Bookshelf vs Kef Q Concerto Meta? I’m thinking about late night music listening and gaming in a smaller room 10’ X12’.
I don't have the concerto in house anymore but I did compare them to the R3 Meta and the Elac (late in the video) of the 3 this is the most dynamic sounding speaker with more going on in the upper treble than KEF or Elac, also more bass than the Elac but not as much as the KEF.
@@AV-Obsessed thanks for the comment. Now i am bit undecisive after you say that....svs or kef? if it were u, which one will u choose? 90% movies, 10% music. But i also saw your video about KEF ocncerto bad comment from cheap audio man...did you encounter the saw issue that he did with concerto?

Ascend Acoustics has a few speakers as an upgrade path you may want to look into them as well also highly regarded
I’d love to see the side by side shootout with the Q Concertos

The Elac is a great speaker for the price but doesn't have the most precise imaging, the B&W or SVS would be better for that.
BW would be a much higher in price ?
The SVS is $1200 a pair and the B&W 606 S3 is $1100 per pair. So both are much more than the Elacs but the SVS and B&W are close. to each other.
Funny enough I’ve seen lots of people say these are the speakers that have high frequency annoyances not the original ultras
SVS should make a 3 way version of this.
All of the towers are 3 way designs. But yes a 3 way bookshelf would also be cool.

If you are just doing 2 channel it is hard to beat the Marantz M1

Thanks, love to see these positive comments, been dealing with a troll all day.
I wanted the svs towers but went with the KEF Q11s and R6 instead

I would go iwth the SVS, the Concerto seems to wake up more a higher volumes while the SVS seem to perform pretty well at all volumes.
will you be comparing it with elac and the kef concerto? how is the dynamic of it?

@@AV-Obsessed So this will be a better speaker for movie... can i put it this way?
As long as you are using a decent amp with at least 100 wpc the Concerto is a very dynamic speaker.
