Great review! Thanks so much for taking the time to walk through this. Love the art, and I also appreciated your comment at the end with regard to being able to take elements from this game and use them in your system of choice.
That was fun! Happy I made it to the premiere for once. Really well done review as much as I could concentrate while chatting with the good people attending and eagerly browsing my copy of the book 😅 You always find a lot of meaningful thing to say. An admirable skill.
I just found out about this game and ordered everything except the last 3 books (they had a crazy deal going). I normally don't play in premade settings as a soloist but this one was too good to resist! Thanks for your video it got me hooked!
Love that cover wrap around design, those touches always please me so much haha and that artwork is amazing! The changeling race is interesting, the Empire LARP has a similar take on changeling wonder if its from European mythology?
@@DMTalesTTRPG But I can't help telling you to reconsider Dolmenwood if at all possible. I respect your choice whatever it ends up being but I can't not recommend it.
10:00 Why would the Ranger fall into the Warrior category? The ranger has been basterdized by modern RPG games and people think ''Bow and Arrow = Ranger'', just because the word range is in it. A ranger isn't a ranger, because he uses bow and arrow and fighting is not their main strength.
Because it’s their own lore that’s not grown out of AD&D. In Symbaroum a ranger is on the outskirts of society, willing to explore Davokar despite the dangers, and the designers made them in the rogue archetype because of that outsider status.
i like a lot about Symbaroum (I always pronounced it symbar - room?), esp the art - just gorgeous!
It’s a fantastic book.
I absolutely love the world and art of Symbaroum. Thanks for the review! Looking forward to your review of the SWADE Fantasy Companion btw.
Thanks! SWADE Fantasy Companion is on deck…I need to get through Traveler too!
@@DMTalesTTRPG - take your time; I've got too many books/systems and not enough players as is! 😂

Old school is for hacking things!
The magic system is something that REALLY clicks for me.
Another Free League game I'd like to get my hands on. They really make my wallet scream.
I got this as a review copy, but I may pick up a copy for a friend for Christmas.

Nice to have you there. I rather enjoy the premiers because I get to get real time interactions!
@@DMTalesTTRPG Yeah
Really nice review, you really covered all bases.
Thank you.
Great video worth a sub ❤
Hey, thanks! Hope you enjoy so other videos on the channel, and stuff that’ll be coming in the future!
I'm really digging these reviews! Looking forward to Dragonbane however as that has been on my wishlist ever since the playtest was released
I’ll be cracking that open soon!!
Your reviews are consistently the best out there
I..thank you so much. I’m humbled.

I’m sure the changeling is from old European myths.
Ooh! Really looking forward to this!
I hope I do it justice!
@@DMTalesTTRPG I'm sure you will. Happy to hear your thoughts. I've yet to play it myself but I've read our browsed a bunch of those books.

@paavohirn3728 it’s an interesting and thought provoking system.
@@paavohirn3728 believe me, I want to! If my UA-cam payout beats the deadline I will.

Kind of wish you had chapters for this kind review. I wanted to hear about the system not the book itself and had no clue where that started.
Time stamps have been in the description, I think I figured out why chapters weren’t being created.
