Thierry Wasser of Guerlain said in an interview that the fragrances are the exact same. I don't know why different perfumers are listed if Thierry Wasser flat out came out and said that they are the same fragrance. My theory is that since Gourmand Coquin is discontinued, Guerlain is selling the remaining batch to one store until it runs out, but once it runs out, it runs out. This batch is sold in limited quantities and has macerated for years at this point. Feve Gourmande is newer. I bought a small decant of Feve Gourmande because my signature scent used to be Gourmand Coquin, but I ran out, and have been without it for years. The Feve Gourmande I got shortly after launch was very weak and, dare I say, watery. I let my small bottle sit for about half a year and now it smells like the Gourmand Coquin I remember. If people compare Gourmand Coquin side by side to Feve Gourmande, they'd still smell different even if they were the same exact formula because Gourmand Coquin isn't being made anymore, and all bottles of it have been aged like fine wine for years now, so they're going to smell differently in comparisons no matter what because Feve Gourmande hasn't even been out long enough to age and mature in the same way that all current Gourmand Coquin bottles have. Just my two cents on why I think they smell and perform differently.
Yes I own both and they smell exactly the same to me! Perfumes smell denser and better as it ages .
I find your initial thoughts of FG interesting. My bottle is very heavy and dense. I am an oversprayer but not with FG. I can't spray more than 5 sprays or it is too strong. I must have gotten lucky because I love it and love how thick, juicy, and yummy it is. I get 8 hours of wear time and I find it projects around arm's length. I am wearing it today and in just 3 weeks it is even better. I think part of the problem some are having is trying to compare a new bottle of FG to an older bottle of GC that has had a really long time to oxidize.
I own a Gourmand Coquin Elixir (batch 2016), a decant of GC bee bottle (the bee bottle was purchased in Paris in September) and Fève Gourmande. Comparing a bottle that has had 7 years to macerate vs a bottle that was manufactured only few months ago does not allow to make a fair assessment. Guerlain fragrances are known to macerate and age beautifully. Like I get that thickness in the opening from the OG. I get something really green in the opening of Fève that I do not get in the OG. I let my Feve Gourmande bottle macerate for a month without touching it and the fragrance is denser now , not as faint as in the behind. Comparing the drydown of Feve Gourmande and GC OG, the differences are hard noticeable. The OG is better blended and there is a synthetic note (hardly noticeable though) that I can smell in FEVE but not in GC.
Interesting about the yeasty texture in the new one. Appreciate the comparison Pam. Pretty much what I would expect from a reform. As far as those backups .... 🥺😳🤯 Wowwwy. 1L!!!

@@PamsSmellyGoods Oh yes i did indeed. ordered and received 2 bottles of 250ml each bottle for Gourmand Coquin lololol...I have been to Harrods and smelled Feve gourmand which is nice and i will propably buy it too for the days that i want to use it on a daily basis
thanks for your review, I own two bottles of GC in bee bottle and got a sample of feve last week from my BA. I do really noticed a watered down feeling on feve, GC is rich, bold and strong on all the ingredients where feve is like a fresher a younger sister of GC.... 2 bottles of GC will last me a good time hahha I still stick to my old GC

Unfortunately I will never be able to smell the original gourmande coquin but I do love my Feve gourmande bottle that I received just recently in the mail. I can’t stop smelling myself while wearing it 😂 thank you again for your lovely descriptions ❤

Gourmand coquin is actually still available but only in guerlain boutiques 125, 250, 500ml bottles... it's available in London Covent store when i was there recently. Also it has been reformulated since the early release bottles... so there is actually at least 3 variations now.

How much was the bee bottle? I live in France and I didn’t know we could still buy gourmand coquin. It isn’t on Guerlain website.
In guerlain boutiques only... 125, 250, 500ml bottles and it's in the London store at the moment.
Thank you for the follow up. It sounds like Feve is very textured. Interesting. How's your bee bottle vs the Original and Feve G? I know what you mean about the opening in the original. I love it too. However, after that, my experience is that it's thin (like your initial impression of Feve). It disappears into oblivion. It lasts, but you wouldn't know. Even on clothes, it doesn't project. Cannot smell it unless i'm sniffing up close. By then, it's only dusty cacao. No rum/rose. Could not bring myself to get the bee, though I was tempted. Want to be able to smell the fragrance even if it's a light lingering scent. Is the bee bottle one lighter than the original or different in other ways? Thanks:)
Bee bottle and the GC in the Elixir Charnel are exactly the same.
I wonder if there are batch differences. Some people insist both are the same. Perhaps it's a scent perception thing where some of us can only smell certain notes/combinations and are anosmic to others. We really need to try it for ourselves I suppose. Hope I can get a sample of Feve soon. Enjoy your big bottle of GC :)
Wow all of you perfume experts are saying different things. Gosh. Most are saying it is stronger...not watered down.
