we have a firbolg in my party that I'm DMing and this is literally what it's like. it's like "I wanna talk to the moss." and as a DM I have to say OK because how can I say no to a firbolg
We also have a Firbolg!! She's a collector of plants. Literally, she has a bag of holding that no-one else is allowed to use and it's filled with seeds and samples. Funnily enough, she's also an expert in making poisons.
4:44 "I'm gonna talk to the moss." Party: "?" Cad: "I'm gonna ask the moss to make sure you have a very comfy sleep." DM: Nods, "Mm'kay..." I love this, Matt's going along, but is also like, "Okay bud, we're talken to moss. Now I gotta figure out what accent moss has."
first we have percival....deadly in wit as he is in aim.......mollymauk jovial and always pushing people in the right way.......caduceus clay weird but he brings life and light to a dark place
Duuudee i sooo want to play D&D , i wanna be a firlbolg druid , chill-ass-cow ! I must admit that i got inspired by Mr Clay here , but instead of tea i`m more of a pipe firbolg
My firbolg ranger has beaten a few enemies with the power of friendship, they just stopped attacking us cause he talked to them (and I got a few nat 20’s)
I wish Matt knew how 'Speech of Beast and Leaf' genuinely worked in campaign 2, 'cause it would've made Taliesin's roleplay and ability that much better. Effect: You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. What's that limited manner? They can understand the meaning of EVERYTHING you say to them, no matter what language you speak in, but you can't understand them in return without some sort of spell. AND you have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them. Throughout the campaign any time Taliesin tried to communicate to beasts or plants that would WITHOUT A DOUBT have him make a Charisma check - it was down played by Matt (not on purpose). Rarely was any charisma check given, and no charisma check WITH ADVANTAGE was ever made anytime he attempted it. But it was still a great campaign, and a great character. I forget a lot of my PCs abilities too, and usually leave it up to them to remember - but I also re-read everything every now and again to make sure they're not missing anything. Matt's a phenomenal DM, I'm just very observant. Love the guy, not trying to come off as harsh. xD
@Professor Thinker Calm down you 12 year old, and read what I said: "Rarely was any charisma check given, and no charisma check WITH ADVANTAGE was ever made anytime he attempted it." You're a noob.
No its not diminishing it, i think it adds to it, gives them something to roleplay between them more, ep 119 is a good example of this, its really cool
Firbolgs be like
"The wind
It's speaking to us"
"What's it saying?"
"I don't know
I don't speak wind"
That legitimately made me laugh out loud
This is a reference to something that I've heard before but I can't remember I think kung fu panda

Best shit Taliesin says, Campaign 1: “Life needs things to live.” Campaign 2: “Hey bees :]”
“Help it’s again”

Campaign 1: "Hey, Sun-Tree-Bro!" "Hey, Kiki!"
Campaign 2: "It's name is Silence"
The funny part is Reanni could probably have spoken to plants and asked its name.
I desperately need Keyleth and Caduceus to meet.
“Hey.”
“Heeeeyyyyy.”
It's my dream for Keyleth to bestow the Spire of Conflux, the vestige of Melora, to either Caduceus or Fjord.
@@PyrotechNick77 All will be right in the universe when this happens :D
@@damobeck1 the only problem is that for Caduceus it would be:

Cad inviting Keyleth for a cup of tea at the sun tree would be fabulous
"I'm a lunatic, aren't I?" is just the most amazing moment of realization.
Taliesin always amaze me with his characters. Caduceus has a special place in my heart, tho.

You know Caduceus is just a result of Percy flirting with the grass in the Feywild, right?
Taliesin snapped his fingers.
I like matt killing off the fly as soon as cad starts following it. That's an unintentional red herring if i ever saw one
Caduceus is so precious seriously
Angry Cad's "Nah, he's no help" about the toad always gets me.

I literally say, "hello, bees" every time I see one. Without fail. It's like a reflex at this point, lol
The greatest band of all time.
I love how his ability to talk to animals and plants is about as useful as Aquaman's powers.
Overpowered?
I mean...Aquaman CAN talk to aquatic kaiju, so...
Aquaman's are useful...
People often forget he's got super strength and speed.

This is a delightful compilation. It feels like a warm bath after a long day and a gentle hug. Love it.
Caduceus is like a warm hug... I love him so much 🥺 this video made me feel all fuzzy inside
Played a firbolg twilight druid once. He was pretty brutal in combat, but outside, he was just a really chill dude who took everything my-pace.
Roll for a Persuasion check! ...Actually, Animal Handling..

I miss Caduceus. He's such a comforting presence.
I would die for Cad! I am so glad you made a Caduceus appreciation video this is marvellous

Wish you would have added Fjord trying to intimidate the forrest as a bonus clip.
Great video idea! It also made me realize just how often Taliesin rolls extremely high hahahaha
I'm hoping he goes back and asks the trees name after he got an item that allows them to talk back.
9:25 is one of the best scenes with Cad
Honestly if I didn't know he was a Cleric I'd assume Cad was a Druid.
caduceus needs to get talk to plants. I want to see just one day to see them talking to a plant and suddenly it talks back
C1 Taliesin: Makes fun of Aquaman
C2 Taliesin: Becomes Aquaman
this is exactly what i needed now
Same
So I have a question. Does Matt know about the Firbolg ability to talk to nature, or does he think this is just what Caduceus do?
Matt knows they just can't talk back however Taliesan recently got a item he can use if he wants them too
It's funny if he knows and just shut him down every time for the lolz
