I love the Queen of Hearts in this film. She has so much power in her presence. I think this is also the best adaption of the Mad Hatter and March Hare. They are a comedy duo. I very much dislike when the Hatter is put above the March hare like its his tea party. The party is at the Hare's house.
My school is having a pantomime this year called Hercules in Wonderland, but in this version Alice is the daughter of the Queen of Hearts, I know it is weird, but bare with me. I was told if I want to understand the "world" better I should probably watch the movies that were directed by Tim Burton and I did watch them, while some of the characters in the pantomime were clearly directly based of those in the Tim Burton movies I felt I had to watch the 1951 and I could tell that some of the characters like the Cheshire Cat was clearly from the 1951 version. One thing is for certain, being given the main role of the pantomime has definitely lead me down an interesting rabbit hole of tue Alice in Wonderland movies
Honestly this movie and the Wizard of Oz ‘39 movie have so much in common in the way I see them. They’re both broadly good and do Oz the best out of all their medias. But just like this movie I feel like the Oz movie is what people think of instead of the books, which are not well read today and are very different from the movie, and that’s just a bummer. Anyways I really love this video series! I’d love to see a review on the original books
Yay Mary Blair! Also very cool to see the connections between this film and Peter Pan, and your analysis of how things changed for better or worse in adaptation.
I would have liked that Disney excluded the Walrus & Carpenter sequence to make room for 2 of the most iconic characters in the book, the Griffin & the Mock Turtle, otherwise my favorite followed by the Bunin & Paramount versions .. the 2 part TV version being my least favorite by faaaar
I Recently watching this movie for the first time on Disney+ and I have to say it’s pretty good but I still do prefer the Tim Burton’s movie but I still do like it and my favorite character from the movie is the Cheshire Cat
I hate the tim Burton movies. In my opinion, they shouldn't exist. They are loosely based on the Lewis Carrol novels at best and are not good whatsoever. No disrespect to anyone who enjoys the movies(such as the OP) but I hate the Burton films very much

Been a while since I saw this one... it's due for a rewatch one of these days.
Another fine video, sir! Great choice of music too ;)
I saw it on Disney Plus a few days ago.

Oh I hope you get to the Lou Bunin Alice soon. That version of Alice existed 2 years before this one came out.
How many versions are there?
@@bighand1530 A ton of them just like most adaptations based on popular children’s stories.
@@Ethan-ey4jx I only know of four different versions.
