    Welcome to my channel ! Welcome to my KPOP journey !!
    This is my first reaction video ever and my VERY FIRST TIME WATCHING KPOP EVER.
    EVER !!
    I’ve never seen it before and I didn’t know anything about it. With that being said , I realize that I should do more research on the genre and groups.
    * I know some people would have preferred that I react to less videos more fully. I will if I react to different groups! I was just trying to get a general idea of KPOP.

    This is how I'd expect a REAL first reaction to be from an American. That's good...
    There are so many fake ones (positive and negative) asking for "like, comment, subscribes".
    If you're interested, great. But if you get tempted to fake it for numbers, there's too much of that already.

    Why does it have to be in English to listen or to put a song on your playlist ? I dont get it. I’m sure you listen to some songs in spanish or with some lyrics in it, so why not if its in Korean or something else ? No hate really, just asking :)

      This seems to be a question only poeple from the US or the UK ask. Everyone else in this world was always ok to listen to English songs, even though we did not spoke and understood it at first, and older generations still don't do. But the music was still good. And in todays world especially in the Kpop genre you will find translated lyrics videos. I would never limit myself to the ones in my own language, the world has so much to offer, I e.x. once by coincidence heard a song from a Nigerian guy and it's one of my favourite songs.

      i'm from america and it's likely because english is the primary language here and most of the music industry is here so we aren't used to branching out or listening to songs other than in english like a lot of the rest of the world does
      while i'm not like that (i watch a lot of tv and listen to music overseas and in different languages) i know a lot of americans are (and this likely goes for the uk too)
      the only other sons we may listen to are usually spanish and that's because it's the second most popular language here but that's it

    • @d.jenkins9263
      @d.jenkins9263 3 роки тому +3

      @Mochimini it is if she's a new kpop fan, doesn't know the song yet, and doesn't even know if she truly is a fan yet.......which these are all obviously true. You're talking about concerts?? Lmao concerts full of fans that have been listening to there songs and watching them for years obviously can't sing in Korean that's a horrible comparison. The process is not the same that is literally JUST WRONG. "If youve listened to the song alot" this is literally her first time listening to the song. So again she probably just wants to sing along. Your standards are not the same as hers and everyone starts at their own time. You just explained how it is for YOU not for everyone. I can guarantee it is not that easy for all English speakers to start singing along in Korean or even close to that. It takes time and experience and again for some people singing along is a big deal. I personally rarely listen to songs I can't sing along with so Just wait people.

    This is a whole world your delving into. Heavy rap, hip hop, pop, R&B and some rock. So heavily influenced by Black American genres. Global phenomenon where talent and product transcend language. You’ll start to learn it. We all do. Very diverse following. Very. By the way, the industry is sort of a machine. So all these groups live together and have for years. They train for hours a day for weeks for months for years before they debut with their first song. The amount of work it takes to produce a K-pop product is mind blowing. Enter in a little sis. It’s fun.

    There's a rude part in your reaction when you say that "if it's English I can definitely put this on my playlist" like what RM said (BTS leader) music transcends language And countries and races so even though it's in other language you can still listen, watch, and add them to your playlist and btw what's so funny about them rapping KPop is full package in a group it means there's always a vocalist, dancer and rapper but I'm not mad, or I dislike your reaction it's your real reaction and I like that your honest your not a fake reactors so yeah I'm going to subscribe

  • @moonrider3571
    @moonrider3571 3 роки тому +121

    I dont wanna be rude because I can see you really dont know anythibg about kpop but please whatch the whole video when you reacting a group. You see there is plenty of people in each group and they all have their own parts in every song but you just listened some of their parts and skipped others... So for me it does not look like a reaction, its more like butchering the videos... So, if you wanna do other reactions please be careful about that.
    And about eng, yes they are speaking some eng and then some korean, btw I guess one of the songs you reacted were in Japanese even. But, there is some full english kpop songs you can check. There is Dynamite by BTS which Im pretty sure yıu already heard because its literally everywhere, there is 100 Ways by Jackson Wang ( he is actually a member of a kpop group called GOT7 but this is his solo song), there is one song from NCT127 but I dont remember the song's name so maybe someoneelse could add the name here, also there is a song from wonho and monsta x ( I dont remember the names again). But, actually language is not important because music itself a language and plus, you can always find subtitles. Also if you wanna learn the language its not that hard either, people can learn new languages for example Eng is not my native language either.
    I hope you can continue to react somr more kpop, properly. You'll see to meeting with kpop actuallu some of the best thing you can do for yourself.

    Advice for newbies to Kpop, if you're still interested and getting into it, is to not focus on the language aspect (unless you find that part fascinating/intriguing to focus on) bc that really is an easy barrier to get across. If you enjoy music, language should not be what defines that! What about the feeling, the vibe, enjoying the vocals, rap flows? Anyways, nice that you appreciated what you saw tho!

    Thanks for your reaction. If you ever feel like doing this again you might try BTS Dynamite since it’s in English. You might also try EPIK HIGH especially their song End of the World, since their stuff is mostly English with a little bit of Korean mixed it instead of the other way around. Won Ho Losing You is in English, that is a good song. Monsta X Someone’s Someone is in English. WayV Love Talk has an English version. (Technically they are the Chinese branch of the Korean group NCT). (G)-idle OMG is in English. But if you want to see real Korean rap you should try Agust D Daechwita. And Oneus Come Back Home is just an awesome video even though it’s mostly in Korean.

I know some would have preferred to see more of your reaction (as in uncut), but I appreciate that you dove into so many kpop groups including some of the more underrated ones. And FYI, SHINee are legends in the kpop industry. They are the princes of 2nd gen kpop and all have very successful solo careers. Some members just got back from the military, so it’s been awhile since their last comeback.
    You might like EXO. They use a lot of rnb and are known for their phenomenal vocals. My favorite kpop group is Dreamcatcher because they blend rock and metal with trendier music styles.

    Every single reactor I have come across has said the same as you. "These guys are good, why can't Americans put this much effort into their art?" Kpop,if I can make any comparison is like when we had Motown. Berry Gordy made sure that before his artists stepped on stage they had very thorough training. Not in just the obvious but how to be in public, how to deal with press etc. Etc. Etc. KPOP is doing the same. Big hit has it down to an art by letting it's artists be truly creative in their own process. As an American it fun to watch kpop have it's turn to shine and to see what it can do now and in the future.

    Nice, I got here before any toxic fans. So, hi! I really liked your reaction, you really went through a whole catalog of kpop in this! It is a bit jarring to listen to kpop and then hear some english in them but you should get used to it easily enough. Kpop has been really performance driven these past few years so expect to see a lot of dancing in the music videos, they really have amazing choreographies! My only advice is to react to less videos but spend more time on them. From what I've seen on other reaction channels 2-3 videos is usually the most pleasant to watch and I'd also suggest to make videos about only one group then another for another group because some fandom's do end up fighting whenever they come across each other. Oh, and I should warn you that you might see some really toxic people in the comments, but please don't take them as being representative of the whole fandom! If you don't like something, just say it, we really appreciate honest reactions but remaining respectful at the same time is important(as in don't just say something is trash, people will get offended). Anyway, loved the video and I can't wait for more!

    EDIT: I should have checked your channel to see if you reacted to more kpop before I wrote this entire novel. But I'll leave it, maybe it'll be for someone else reading along.
    You were honest, I appreciate that. And this is why I don't want to share any kpop with my friends. It hurts to see them laughing at people over language and rapping because they've been so sheltered from it or have an idea that rapping only belongs to thugs singing about violence, drugs, and sex. Thing is, I was in your position when I first got into kpop too, so I absolutely understand. It also took me a long time to get used to seeing people rapping who didn't fit the stereotype of the only other rappers I knew - western artists. I hated rap so bad because of the negativity in the lyrics, the gang member image, so when I heard rapping in kpop, I cringed and hated it. Then slowly I warmed up to it and realized that I had those bad associations with something that's nothing more than a vocal style. When I started to look at why I hated rap, realized it was my limited exposure, but now had a whole world of rappers with different aesthetics, lyrics, and energies, I grew to really enjoy it's inclusion into kpop songs. As for the language, I've been listening to music with lyrics outside of English for a couple of decades now but I also started off feeling a bit strange because there's not a lot of diversity in the music played in America, nor do we have a society that encourages learning other languages, and some people here aren't even exposed to another language at all or are told that "foreigners are bad," so I think they internalize some feeling of "that is for them, not for me" because of things like language, country of origin, etc. It's only recently that people will listen to Latin music, and you really don't hear it on the radio. So it's no wonder that it might feel a little outside of someone's depth to listen to music in another language. But the funny thing is, while lyrics are definitely important (in most cases, but some are just fun hype music too), one doesn't NEED to know every word to enjoy something. I understand a preference for knowing lyrics, of course. But then in that case, this is 2021, a translation is 2 clicks away. And most kpop will have a few English words here or there, as most of the rest of the world isn't as mono-lingual as Americans. But while watching your reactions, I could see a lot of my own first thoughts that I had when experiencing music from another country, in another language, with rap. Sure it was 20 years ago, but everyone starts somewhere and kpop is getting more popular than ever so more people are trying to check it out. I saw some of your preconceived ideas (which I also had) starting to fall away as you watched. And the more you watch, if you want to, you'll be exposed to it more and it won't seem so different or odd, and you'll start to see more of what you like and can relate to, and even find groups that you can't believe you didn't know before. Happens to the best of us haha I didn't think kpop was for me, I hated everything I thought was "pop" (from my narrow American radio experience), hated everything I thought was "rap," but here I am today writing a novel on youtube to encourage a possible new fan because it's been such a rewarding and exciting addition to my life and I hope it will be for yours too! Kpop isn't just "pop in Korean" which understandably people think is the case. Rather, there's something of ever genre, diverse concepts, exceptional talent and performance art, and honestly something for everyone. If you don't like one, check out another, or even just check out a different song by the same group as they all typically experiment with genres in each song. Can't help you about not liking little dogs though lol

    Wonho's Losing You is in English and Monsta X has a whole English album called All About Luv (songs with a music video are: Middle of the Night, You can't Hold My Heart, Who Do U Love). For NCT 127 we have Highway to Heaven (English Version), Regular (also English Version), and WayV has Love Talk that is completely in English too. There's also Stray Kids, they have a few songs with enlish versions, I think Ice Cream by Blackpink is also full English. there's so much to choose from. I hope she asks her subscribers for english songs if she ever plans on reacting to KPop artists again. Also laughing at them because they rap but have "pretty faces" is very nonsensical, there's so many idol rappers who are beasts and I don't wanna see your reaction to them if all you're gonna say is that you can't take them seriously because they're pretty

Most all k pop songs will incorporate some English to their songs. I didn't really enjoy this reaction because to many songs you reacted to and we didn't get the full version of the song. that being said glad you found k-pop your journey is going to be wild so hold on and secure your seat. Korean music is amazing all these groups trained some for years others not much but they are very talented, and the videos amazing. Any kpop fan here don't jump me i am saying my opinion on kpop.
    Most of kpop especially boygroup kind of sound the same. (For the promoted title tracks) Only a few of them like BTS and others for example change it up a bit, (that's why those guys are so big, they are literally the ones who made kpop mainstream and constantly go beyond the genre and the Industry. Without bts existing you would've probably not made this video since most people have known of kpop through BTS, they are amazing and are carrying kpop's hype and success. They are the biggest act of 2020, kpop or not kpop. They outsold Drake, Taylor Swift, Ariana, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga.... So they are n1 on IFPI top selling artist list. First asian artist and first non-english to ever achieve this)
    . these days boygroups they all do this kind of "dark emo" aggressive concepts with croptops chains and green hair, no chorus beat drop with only onomatopoeias, and a rapper guy with a deep voice in the middle, a high note for the bridge and that's it. The music videos being very cool just to save the song. This is what i can see with all of those videos. Girlgroups are a bit more original and better in general, Mamamoo, Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, (g)idle are hella versatile and are girlgroups.

    • @nerasomnia
      @nerasomnia 3 роки тому +3

      I personally disagree. Those trends are prevalent everywhere and not just with boygroups. Girl groups are arguably overrun with the girl crush and cute concepts, but dark concepts are beginning to trickle in. If you want more unique songs, HOME;RUN by Seventeen is a jazz swing song, Thunder by Verivery is a dark calliope song, Tempo by EXO is an rnb song with an acapella breakdown, and then you have something like Crown by TXT which is a pretty standard kpop song, but the concept is bright and cute. They’re there, but you gotta go beyond the surface level like you did for girl groups.

    • @-amel-9896
      @-amel-9896 3 роки тому +2

      @@nerasomnia i know that not ALL boygroups sound the same, but the trend seem to be more prominent for boygroups than girlgroups for the most popular groups. You mentioned EXO with Tempo, yes, it's a different song, but their lastest one, Obsession i believe could kind of fit the type of concept i listed. Especially this year, the songs you mentioned except for Home run by seventeen i believe were kind of older before the trend came on and started to dominate kpop boygroup.
      Girl crush is a trend for girlgroups but i can only name BlackPink, Everglow, maybe aespa with this concept, the other big ones, like Twice, Mamamoo, Dreamcatcher, (g)idle, IZ*ONE, Red Velvet, ITZY,..ect are all so different from each other and pretty versatile even some have their "brand" concept like ITZY with the dance pop confidence and edm beat type of music although i wouldn't call it's kind of generic i can recognize an ITZY song when I hear them and they appropriated that style, meanwhile i literally mistook oneus no diggity to an ateez song, and i checked a lot of rookie boygroups groups and many of them seem to have that style. It looks like the music video took more time to make than the song. The lyrics are also often awful. Like i heard a cravity song it sounded like VROOM VROOM BROOM TRE TRR, and people were praising them on how they are the future of kpop cuz they were attractive. Yes, not all boygroups. I mentioned bts myself and i know many other boygroups groups with fresh sound but it's not prominent. I've never heard of verivery so im going to check them out. TXT naturally is a different group so i don't include them. Seventeen i like some of their stuff.

    • @nerasomnia
      @nerasomnia 3 роки тому

      @@-amel-9896That song by Oneus was a different style for them, though. It was very punk and aggressive. A lot of the boy groups I know change concepts quite often whereas a lot of girl groups I know (aside from Mamamoo and (G)I-dle) stick to their concept. The trend you mentioned about a beat drop with repetitive onomatopoeias started with Blackpink. They popularized that music style.
      I could probably find songs that came out in 2020 which don’t have dark concepts and don’t have an onomatopoeia chorus with beat drops, but I’m a fanatic for dark concepts. Most of the songs I saved have a dark music video and sound dramatic because that’s the style I gravitate towards. There was a spike in how many went for that concept last year, but trends are destined to change. That’s how music is. Kpop In general is becoming darker. I can feel it even with the girl groups with (G)I-dle’s last few concepts and the recently debuted PIXY.
      I think what I’m trying to say is all of kpop tends to follow trends and it’s not just a boy vs girl thing.

    • @-amel-9896
      @-amel-9896 3 роки тому +3

      @@nerasomnia i like dark concepts but many boygroups have dark music videos but hype angry sound talking about how the girl they lofe rejected them. An example of a great dark concept by a boygroup would be can't you see me by TXT, music video is actually creepy and it's not some men in black leather and chains showing their abs, the song is unique and soft yet dark sounding. To me "dark" is not the "badass" boygroups usually go for. I prefer the creepy type of dark. Another example, although it's not a title track but a bside, louder than bombs by BTS is a very dark song. It sounds haunting, like you are suffocating in a dark deep black ocean and you can't get out, the lyrics are heartbreaking, dark yet hopeful. Why do boygroups have to sound so angry usually in most 'dark' concepts? Kpop fans call any song with a music video with chains and dark colors, a dark concept. Blood Sweat and tears is another example of a boygroup dark concept, the ong being about losing innocence and going to adulthood. Some people may call it a "sexy" concept but it's just because the theme is losing innocence and go into temptation, and sex is one of the temptations for losing innocence i guess. Meanwhile boygroups show their abs in a dark concept just for the visuals and not for the art.... I don't consider No Diggity by Oneus a dark concept, same for Ateez songs, or NCT's, or Obsession by EXO.

    • @nerasomnia
      @nerasomnia 3 роки тому

      @@-amel-9896 That’s the type of dark I prefer, too. I literally have a whole playlist with dark concepts in kpop. I don’t include songs that just have a dark aesthetic like sad boys after a breakup. They have to include some form of evil like death, betrayal, addiction, abuse, corruption, war, monsters, ghosts, crime, etc. I recently privated the playlist, so you can’t see it right now. Also, just saying, but Obsession by EXO has them battling their clones, and then the world is destroyed at the end of it. That’s definitely a dark concept.

And that was the end for me. Rabbit whole and all. Lol. Like the comments say if your into Spanish songs or Spanish Eng songs you can totally be into BTS or Kpop. It's about the music and the voices and there are CCs. So you don't really need to understand at 1st. That may come later. Good luck. -baby ARMY NY USA 💜
