- With two full days in Luxembourg City we spent our time wisely exploring as much of the city as possible and the following is a city guide to Luxembourg City featuring all of the top attractions and best things to do in this complete travel guide:

10 Things To Do In Luxembourg City | Top Attractions Travel Guide Travel Video Transcript:
Well, welcome to Luxembourg! The only Grand Duchy in the world. Over the next few days we're going to be exploring the capital of Luxembourg City and this is going to be a little city guide to show you some of the highlights.
Located smack dab in between Germany, France, and Belgium, the little Grand Duchy of Luxembourg can be easy to miss if you're not looking carefully, however, we're of the opinion that this is a beautiful destination that you'll definitely want to make time for. From picturesque neighbourhoods with cream coloured walls, to dazzling views of blue rooftops in the Old Town below, Luxembourg City is a charming destination that you'll want to add to your European itinerary.
So this hear is the Corniche and it is a pedestrian promenade which has been called the most beautiful balcony in all of Europe because it gets some spectacular views of the old town.
So we are now entering the Bock Casemates and apparently this was the old fortification of Luxemborg and it was known as the Gibraltar of the north.
This was once one of the most envied fortresses in all of Europe.
Right now we're visiting the Three Towers which are remnants of an old fortress.
We've been walking around a neighborhood called the Grund which is directly below the city center. And it is really picturesque and without tourists.
So behind me we have Saint Michael's church which is the oldest church in Luxembourg. The first church to be built on this spot dates back to the year 987, however, the church was destroyed, rebuilt, and renovated many times over the centuries.
The Palace houses the Grand Duke's office and during the summer months.
There is no shortage of museums in Luxembourg City, so we took some time to visit the National Museum of Art and History.
We are now looking at the Passerelle which is Luxembourg's very own viaduct.
So we are now standing in William Square which is a really popular spot on Sundays and Wednesdays because local vendors setup shop and they sell all kinds of things from fresh produce, to flowers, street snacks.
So final thoughts of Luxembourg. Alright, to wrap things up here it was a really cool city. It is the type of city that you can explore in just one or two days. A weekend type of destination because a lot of the attractions are nearby one another. And we just found it a very easy city to get around in on foot.
So as a little travel tip if you're planning on being in the city for a few days we really recommend the Luxembourg Card. This is what we used while we were here and it is really good for public transportation across the city. Across the country actually and you also get access to seventy different galleries, museums, historic attractions and it is not that expensive. I mean it depends on whether you get a family or an individual card but we really recommend it because we made a lot of use of it.

@@seredmillar3347 Our native language is Luxembourgish, but most of the shops and paper work overall is in french, hence people think it's our main language, however our tv is mostly in german, so we are a more bilingual country:)

I'm from Luxembourg and i highly recommend you to visit the rest of the country. In the southern part you can see the old industrial sites that were
used for coal and steel production. That was a big part of Luxembourg's industry back in time when the ECSC was a thing in Europe. There is also a military museum, if you are interested in that part of history. Otherwise you can just admire our beautiful nature, castles and villages in the northern part of the country. There is a very nice barrage lake that you can visit and a tn of other nice places to admire and discover.
Btw thanks for visiting us, most of the time people think we are part of Belgium or Germany...

me too, i was born in luxembourg and I lived there for 6 years, i still miss it every day :(
I was there in 1996 and you left off the most beautiful spot in the whole country. The American WW2 Cemetery where 5400 Americans are buried who gave their lives in the Battle of the Bulge. General George S. Paton is buried at the head of this army. The poppies are beautiful as you walk down the lane to the cemetery and then you turn right thru the gates and see the freshly mowed grass and the white crosses..... it is breath taking. I cried when I saw it. Any American or any person from Europe should see it and be thankful for these boys and men's sacrifice for freedom.

Hi,a little update: Now transportation is free in the whole country andby tram you can also visit the city. thepont Adolphe has a georgeous pedestrian walkway with stunning views and you should absolutely use the glass elevator to go down to the grund

I've recently been to Lux and made a 1min travel vlog on it too! Luxembourg is great for a short weekend getaway as it is a small, yet beautiful country! I'll recommend visiting there during the summer, esp during their independence day in June with great atmosphere :) Very informative video!

I've lived in Luxembourg my entire life (I'm Luxembourgish) and I can agree that a weekend here would be nice. Although the grund and hamilius area are not the only places that one should visit if one would chose to come.

The Ceramic museum near Place of Arms is free and really nice. Merch is a very nice city with park,statues,monuments.There is a castle very near by.In Hollenfels is where I stayed at a really cheap hostel with share room, it has lovely views ,very quiet and relaxing ,and there is a bus every hour to Merch ,where you can catch the train to any other place. With 4 euro you can catch train or bus the whole day.

Yes it was lovely and the people were kind ! We ran short on money and a nunnery took us in. We stayed in their empty infirmary with breakfast and dinner for 2 days waiting for standby return flight. We paid 1.25 and offered to do kitchen duty but they did not need our help so we visited the city. 😎

@@samuelandaudrey it was the truth. i saw a couple more on luxembourg. they were so trshy. like they were talking about not the places and the vistas, but where to find rebates and discounts, and where to get beer, more beer, room temp beer, beer... and then small like a horse barn, as the brit hooligans usually do (the same ones who also made the vids). so, you two guys did a fantastic job. cheers

I was there on an inter-rail stop-over 30 years ago. Good to see a video as back then it was old film cameras. Was a nice visit but you certainly got a sense that they were surrounded by 3 big powerful neighbours. Probably more relaxed now with the EU. We went on a day trip to Ettelbruk which was nice

I visited over the Christmas/New Years holidays. You only need a day or two in Luxembourg as its pretty small but its extremely picturesque.

I've never really considered Luxembourg despite living a relatively short plane ride away. I guess a combination of it being so small (would a 3 night city break even be too long?!) and its reputation of being an expensive tax haven ala Switzerland (did you find it expensive?) are both contributing factors!
QWERTYOP80 Yeah, I think it is quite under-the-radar for quite a few reasons. Surprisingly, it wasn't that expensive. Many of the attractions are free and restaurant meals are reasonable enough priced. Air BNB or other apartment rental options are cheaper than quite a few other parts of Europe.
