You will see trains from the four major freight railroads in the United States as well as a number of smaller local operations. Near the end of the video, you will go back and see what steam freight trains were like on the Nevada Northern and Western Maryland Scenic Railways. I love csx and grew up with csx trains..
Hello. I do not know anything in the process, just watch them and be amazed since my childhood, I am now old ... A few questions without wanting to disturb you. Why sometimes several locomotive lead, I suspect because of the weight and the length of the line ... Another thing why a locomotive at the end of a convoy, sometimes from the front or from the back? These videos are in the best, locations, transitions and qualities. What a good job! Thank you. (Google translation, i'm french canadian)
they need it to create more Speed lets say like if a Train Is Heading somewhere like san bernadino mountains there tracks are aways up hill so one of the locomotives need to create more speed more power called a powermove which creates more power to go up hill on the mountains cause if i only have one locomotive up hill u will need more locomotives to create more strength to go up hill :]

Awesome video Mike, you definitely had a colossal collection of HEAVY HITTERS of BIG TRAINS! It's a shame that people find it necessary to put GRAFFITI all over the cars and noticed one of the BNSF engines was painted on too.
I think Uncle Pete has some of the dirtiest locos on the tracks , nice to see the Southern Pacific's locos cleaned up and looking like brand new !

15:57 is that SP traction? If so what type of loco are they and why, I thought they were purchased by UP
+MI Rail Those are Ex-SP. Union Pacific sold them off as surplus a number of years ago and they were never repainted. They operate on a railroad in the middle of the Mojave Desert in a place called Trona.
@@CoasterFan2105 it might be a little late but how did they ended up there? in such a weird operational state, they pretty much erased the UP and SP (maybe) letters and they kept them as them like that, such a weird one to be honest
