Onaga was just a powerful ruler and so was kahn. They posed threats to the elder gods bcux they threatened to release the kamidogu by merging the realms which is why kahn was stopped in mk9. It because Shinnok poisoning Jinsei, Earthrealm life force, he deserved to be tormented by Raiden. Shinnok get decapitated but still he still can breath.
Truth is,Shinnok only meant to use that move as a means to hold Raiden In place so he doesn’t interfere with Shinnoks plans and Shinnok could continue to corrupt the earth realm. Of course Shinnoks attack was going to severely wound Raiden but being an elder gods and even a fallen one with his amulet shinnok could easily waste Raiden and basically already did right there. Raiden was done and almost dead after that simple weak attack Shinnok launched only meant to keep Raiden in his place. He wasn’t mecessarily trying to kill or torture Raiden just hold him down and wound him a bit. Raiden,on the other hand was intentionally trying to “torture” shinnok on purpose. But even if he tried and I’m sure he did he still can’t kill shinnok. I’m sure Raiden was going all out on shinnok with his moves and it didn’t matter bcuz Raiden can’t kill shinnok but it was meant to injure and torture him which was raidens purpose right here. Raiden even severely empowered by Shinnoks own elder god powers, embedded within the amulet and being used against him still couldn’t finish shinnok but shinnok didn’t have his elder god powers he didn’t have his amulet Raiden did which caused him to become much stronger aside from bfr aside from just not holding back either. Shinnok was much weaker and raiden much stronger that is why Raidens attacks even hurt shinnok because normally as seen in start of mkx shinnok barely did anything to defeat Raiden and fujin combined and in the end of mkx again, shinnok barely does anything and severely wounds Raiden in an attempt that was meant to merely hold Raiden in place not “kill” him or torture him. the reason why Shinnoks face is so dead is bcuz he’s not rlly trying he doesn’t have to. Raiden and the elder gods combined stopped shinnok in a long war the first time. Raiden alone however is far weaker and not a real threat to Shinnoks power so much as a nuisance and also someone who can’t defeat shinnok but can thwart his plans and shinnok knows this which is why he held him off. There’s a big difference in what happened in these two scenes. If shinnok really tried to intentionally “torture” Raiden for the sole purpose of pain and pleasure Raiden would be suffering a lot more and also quickly die, which he almost did anyway in this scene of mkx with a single simple attack of shinnoks. Ppl forget Raiden tortured shinnok after he was imprisoned while unconscious and took his amulet and his elder gods powers became much stronger and shinnok lost his elder gods powers and became much weaker. Both things combined means Raiden was able to torture and wound shinnok where otherwise his attacks wouldn’t do much to shinnok. W.o Shinnoks own elder god powers in his amulet that Raiden used agains shinnok,Raiden doesn’t stand a chance against shinnok. Raiden. Ever “won” or defeated shinnok on his own w.o the elder gods being the main reason for his defeat and the amulet “Shinnoks own power sealed within” being used against him.
Bro did you only play mkx, because in previous games raiden whooped shinnok ass two times in a row.Shinnok only become powerful because he stole souls of people died in war earth realm and outworld with the help of Quan chi.
When on earth did shinnok kick raidens ass!?? Did YOU play any other games!?? I’ve been playing mk since mk1 and have followed the main stories and characters very closely especially Shinnoks story. From the very beggining shinnok waged a war with THE ELDER GODS who are much stronger than Raiden and it was a war that plunged the earth into centuries of darkness and caused extinctions of many races. The elder gods warred with shinnok for centuries along with raiden and they narrowly defeated Shinnok,he almost succeeded in defeating all of the elder gods and raiden who is just a helper to the elder gods in this scenario. Shinnok is an elder god he’s much stronger than raiden he always was. Raiden is more a thorn in shinnoks way the same way raiden is to shao Kahn and kronica. He’s weaker than all of them by a lot. He may be a god but you’re comparing a god to shao Kahn which surpasses normal god status by a lot but beneath elder god level and then shinnok himself is an elder god. Shinnok wasn’t even trying in mkx against raiden and Fujin combined and everyone else. He was toying with all of them especially raiden and fujin and it’s hard to call that a fight when all shinnok did is just one shot blasted raiden and fujin while being in the most calm state without a worry in the world about them. They both almost got trapped and defeated right then and there if it weren’t for Johnny cage interfering. Johnny basically saved the two gods lives. Look it’s basic facts of the lore that gods are one of the strongest beings but outworld rulers match or surpass that like shao Kahn and Onaga and then they have the elder gods like shinnok which are said in cannon fact lore to be the strongest of beings in the mk universe and yes they’re not just talking about in a group but as individual beings they are the strongest and shinnok is one of them he’s above shao Kahn and Onaga wirh shao Kahn being much closer to shinnok than Onaga in terms of power. Onaga WAS stronger than shao Kahn BEFORE onagas original death but shao Kahn eventually surpassed him. This is proven when they battle and shao Kahn comes out the winner and there was no kamidogu for Onaga or millions of souls absorbed by shao Kahn as he did in mk3/mk9 ending to interfere with a real outcome of this fight as they were both in equal terms both at their base levels battling and Kahn sadly wss the winner of thst battle proving that base Kahn has surpassed Onaga after his death. Onaga WAS stronger than shao Kahn once again once he attained the kamidogu in deceptions story but that was the only reason he was all powerful and that power is not truly his. Shinnoks amulet is a vassal for shinnoks own full elder god power than he infused within it as a means of avoiding being stripped of his power completely by the elder gods after his initial war with them. Since the amulet is tied to shinnoks immortality it cannot be destroyed so he gets to keep his full power he was clever to find ways around the elder gods stripping his power when they casted his title down he retained his full power but only separated from his body within the amulet. He needs only possess it and he is basically at full power. It was never a power up it was always his own power within it. Anyone who wields his amulet essentially wields the full power of an elder god which as stated before has been stated they’re the strongest beings in the mk lore from the start the only thing above was the one being. The elder gods themselves were just fragments of the one being split up along with all the realms. Onaga in armageddon was insanely weaker than the power he possessed in deception and it was only due to the kamidogu thst powered him up so much so he needed that to surpass everyone else including shao Kahn again. I do believe Onaga with the kamidogu was far stronger than shao Kahn at his peak because while shao Kahn did surpass Onaga, the kamidogu are basically All the energies of all the realms so you’re essentially bringing back the one being or his power to a degree containing them individually. This power uo doesn’t count as onagas real power though otherwise shao Kahn wirh blazes power or souls absorbed in mk3 mk9 count too and shinnok with the one beings power which was a step beyond what Onaga could do. Onaga himself feared Shinnok in Armageddons official story. He plotted to defeat shao Kahn and then kill blaze in order to have the powers to defeat shinnok. That alone says Onaga himself believed that shinnok was more powerful than either shaonkahn or himself and it is the truth. Onaga isn’t someone to take orders from anyone he would kill you if he can and he even tried it with shao Kahn and was killed but he didn’t even dare challenge shinnoks power/shinnoks rule. Onaga agreed to serve shinnok and feared he’d be amongst the dead if shinnoks plans happen. As far as raiden he is strong he is a god yes but he is not stronger on his own than shao Kahn or shinnok or onaga. They ALL defeated Raiden before. Shao Kahn killed raiden in Armageddon and defeated him on his own in mk9 until the elder gods stepped in. Raiden was thrown aside like nothing without any effort from a single blast of shinnoks amulet which is his own power and he was a moment from being trapped had Johnny not intervened. Raiden was spared death by shao Kahn in mk9 with the elder gods killing shaonkahn and then an elder god himself nearly imprisoning raiden forever. Once again later in the mkx story shinnok crushed and trapped raiden with a single skeletal hand grab. Raiden did NOT defeat shinnok in the original war with the elder gods he merely aided them in his defeat which took centuries according to the story. They also aided him against shaonkahn and both times raiden would’ve perished if he battled either one to the death alone. Heck that single attack in mkx end nearly killed raiden on its own and it was meant to only trap him. Raiden is a major threat to shao Kahn shinnok and kronicas plans but not because he is stronger. He’s far weaker than them but that doesn’t mean you can’t foul someone’s plans. In mk4 raiden never battled shinnok it was liu kang who defeat shinnok and it was stated by John Vogel one of rhe creators it was revealed shinnok didn’t possess his real amulet so he was nowhere near his full power and had he had the real amulet and his full elder god power intact liu kang wouldn’t have defeated him. He’s not weak by any means he’s the strongest villain who has to have the story make him weak in order to be defeated because he’s so powerful. He either isn’t at full power as he wasn’t in the original timeline OR he has a character who’s designed to specifically defeat elder gods like cassie there is not normal way to defeat someone as strong as an elder gods without either making him weak or some crazy power like the cages have. So yes,Raiden NEVER defeated shinnok on his own. It was the elder gods wirh raidens help who did and he got much closer to destroying the elder gods combined with raiden than even shao Kahn did being super powered up in mk9s end story and raiden was nowhere near shao Kahn’s power at this point but shinnok at full power is stronger than that so that tells you something about how powerful both shaonkahn and shinnok are. Raiden NEVER defeated Shao Kahn shinnok or Onaga OR kronica or Shang Tsung with the crown on his own he either aided/was aided by the elder gods which was 90% of the reason they win or he fused giving liu kang a boost in mk11 against kronica and tsung. Raiden is not weak but he doesn’t compare to Kahn or shinnok. Also he was only able to torture shinnok because raiden essentially stole shinnoks amulet which was basically shinnoks full power at raidens disposal and turned it against him. This leaves shinnok without majorit of his power and now raiden his shinnoks power so HE was near shinnoks level or was by possessing shinnoks power and amulet in mk11 it’s the only reason he was able to even hurt him. Or did you not see what happened wirh shinnok vs raiden and fujin in mkx? Raiden and fujin didn’t even hurt shinnok and he barely put effort in their defeats wirh one blast even Shang tsung faired better when raiden possessed shinnoks amulet and used it against Shang tsung. Shinnoks own power/his amulet is a reason why evil raiden in mk11 was so powerful without it he is normal and was crushed by Kahn shinnok Onaga can’t hurt kronica and killed by Shang tsung
Bruh he was weakened by disabiling kanos snare the fighting and defeating all the revenants so no wonder a buffed up shinnok can beat a depowered near death raiden
You know shinnok did survive armageddon and I just imagine this clip being mixed in with the clip of mk9 intro where armageddon concludes and you see the characters dead on the pyramid and then you eventually get to raiden being thrown by shao Kahn except in this case it would be normal shinnok and then showing him rather than absorbing the jinsei absorbing blazes power which essentially is the same thing here and you imagine shinnok absorbing blazes power and then transforming into the glowing figure you see here as shao Kahn did when he absorbed blazes power. Then you hear shinnok beating raiden rather than shao Kahn and raiden praying to the amulet and shinnok saying pray to the elder gods raiden as your world ends…. And the last thing you see is shinnok perhaps about to fatally choke raiden to death or blast him to death with his amulet and then time reverses the way it did in mk9 intro…you know imagining that is essentially exactly what would happen and how it would happen if SHINNOK won armageddon rather than shao Kahn and honestly logically it DID make the most sense as he was much more aware of what was going on than the others and he should have won from a power perspective and it wouldve made a lot more sense if shinnok one of the elder gods who almost destroyed all the elder gods raiden and all the realms once to be the one to get back to the top bcuz this has been going on before the battles with Onaga or shao Kahn. He’s an elder god and was imprisoned for a long time and he deserves to have been the one that won armageddon from a power stand point being an elder god and elder gods being the strongest beings and he was only defeated bcuz he was weakened in the story. Shao Kahn won because of popular fan demand and shao Kahn IS raidens enemy BUT shinnok is raidens ancient enemy bcuz they’ve been at war with each other for centuries and the elder gods as well it took centuries for the elder gods WITH the help of raiden to finally defeat and banish shinnok. It’s almost like emperor palpatine in Star Wars sure darth vadar is the enemy you face constantly but palpatine was this ancient older threat that’s always been around and he came back in the sequels to rise to the top again and this should’ve been the same for shinnok. It honestly would have showed both shinnok at full power transforming briefly and winning as the true mastermind of Armageddon in fact he still is because he outlived Onaga and outlived even shaonkahn who won armageddon at least from the perspective that while Kahn did win we revert back in time and Kahn is killed. Shinnoks been weakened for a very long time after his deat at the elder gods and he was imprisoned so there wasn’t anything he can do that’s why he tried taking shao Kahn out bcuz he was planning to escape but he didn’t escape right after Kahn’s death in mk9 he escaped a while after as he couldn’t yet escape the netherrealm. Him defeating Kahn while he was imprisoned was smart bcuz it’s just one less enemy to focus on while he has bigger fish to get which are the elder gods themselves which barely defeated them and the same gods that killed shao Kahn quickly compared to a long war with shinnok. Anywya I just think this is perfect clips for what if shinnnok won armageddon I mean he turns red and glows all the same as shao Kahn when he absorbed blazes power. Even kronica meant for shinnok to win so while he didn’t win the first armageddon I have no doubts that it’s all been an obvious set up including shinnoks own defeat and kronica introduction that shinnok is eventually meant to win armageddon in another timeline so I do think he will “EVENTUALLY” be truly redeemed and all his last failures will eventually lead him to destroy the elder gods and win for once much like kronica shao Kahn and Shang tsung have won

Raiden was already weakened. Shinnok didn't need to attack him further. He clearly intended to make Raiden feel pain and suffer. That's torture.
