Check out the live 1994 pulse version. Its a performace that has the ability to slow my perception of time passing. Probably my favourite extended guitar solo of all time.
Get some good LSD and let go. This song alone will take you on the best ride of your life. I Thank my parents for being cool and making me on this Planet we call Earth; to this Music.
Animals by Pink Floyd is my second favorite album of all time. Its absolutely incredible. Theyre one of the most iconic bands that I think actually live up to their hype. My first tattoo was inspired by them.
Hey Flawed , have you ever heard about the "Phenomenon " with Pink Floyd's Album "Dark side of the Moon" and the Wizard of Oz film? Legend has it, when you start the Wizard of Oz movie, when the MGM Lion Roars the third time, start playing the First song of the Darkside of the Moon and the Album is like a soundtrack to the film. It is a Trip. Especially if you are already tripping.
In a radio interview around 1980 with Jim Ladd from KLOS in Los Angeles, Waters said part of the song is about the time he got hepatitis but didn't know it. Pink Floyd had to do a show that night in Philadelphia, and the doctor Roger saw gave him a sedative to help the pain, thinking it was a stomach disorder. At the show, Roger's hands were numb "like two toy balloons." He was unable to focus, but also realized the fans didn't care because they were so busy screaming, hence "comfortably" numb. He said most of The Wall is about alienation between the audience and band. Peace out.
Music is the ultimate binding force. All genres influence each other and everyone has different experiences to add. It just takes an open mind , and ears, to bond
The main story of the song, (lyrics by founding member and bassist of Pink Floyd in 1964 Roger Waters), is Waters being violently sick with a stomach virus at a hotel the night of a concert in Philidelphia in 1977. A doctor was called in and he gave Waters an injection of some kind to help so he could perform. Waters was barely able to stand, and he had a numb feeling in one arm so bad he could barely move it. It reminded him of when he was a boy, and he had a fever which made his hands feel like two ballons. There's also the story of Waters spitting on a fan, being relevant to the story of Pink, a fictious person,...maybe Waters!), in the story of "The Wall". Isolation and mental illness.
Definitely have to watch the movie for context. Movie is basically one big music video with a story. This song is all about the doctor drugging him up to do another performance.
This song is not *from* a movie. It is from an original double album Pink Floyd "The Wall". It is a concept album that tells the story of a rockstar going slowly insane and building a metaphorical wall in his mind between himself and reality. A movie was made of the album a few years later with this and other songs from it appearing as a soundtrack of sorts. You really need to watch the live 'Pulse' version of this from 1994 to really get the full impact of it. It is extraordinary.
One of the best breakdowns and interpretations to this song ive seen and i love how you could see the vastness their influence reached.... "The Wall" is this albums title and title of the movie they made thats a must see cult classic. Bravo guys my hats off to ya
You really need to watch the video to this song live ...look for pulse concert... The guitar solo is a lot longer, and there is an entire visual display that is amazing. The show is a whole nother experience on top of the amazing song.
Damn, what a superb reaction !!! Thanks for that. Like some reactions already did say, take a look at the live version of this song from the Pulse concert. And while we are at it, also take a look at the brand new release from Ice-T and his band Bodycount, David Gilmour even played the guitar and gave his blessing that Ice-T put new lyrics to it !!!! Keep up the good work and greets from The Netherlands... :)
This would ellude to the different layers of consciousness here living in a real-M few can understand. Studying language and symbolism with decades learning more about aesthetics, there's a code for all the layers on display... Hoping you enjoyed the ceremony of Xmas, I do my own thing, Many regards for what is one of the new years told, keep creating and LEARNING deeper knowledge... 📚☕👣
Please check out the PULSE live version of Comfortably Numb. The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for a spectacular performance.
You guys must read the lyrics from start to finish of the whole album and then listen to the album start to finish in one sitting. That is the only true way to fully experience the Wall.
If you want a new perspective that will change you, watch the corresponding movie for the album and the sound effects between the track will all make sence.
Anything you do from a Pink Floyd album like Dark Side of the Moon or wish you were here or this song you did which is from their album THE WALL it's going to have incredible music and incredibly deep lyrics!!! Every song they did in their history, they took a lot of time to create!! As many people have said on your reaction channel check out anything from the 1994 Pulse concert with Pink Floyd!!
I’m telling you Flawed. Go to Hims or Keeps and that shit works to fill in your hair. I was starting to recede about 6 years ago and the prescription put my hairline back and it hasn’t gone back since. Not super expensive either.
Don’t belittle ya woman mate. She’s not dumb. 😠 This song is off the album “ The Wall” and it’s best to listen to the album in its entirety as it is a rock opera(story) Or if you are game you could watch the Movie. Either way it is amazing and so are Pink Floyd 🎸 🤘🏻

One of the greatest pieces of rock music for all time from one of the greatest rock bands that has ever been.

Ice T (Bodycount), very recently sampled that song. And he had David Gilmour basically play a 6 mn guitare solo on it. Epic 🔥
While I'm not a fan of the Ice T version the fact that Gilmore and Rodgers approved the sample makes me respect it more
@ck240sx Yes! That was a beautiful moment for Rock history! But hearing Gilmour play the whole song long is a delight.
Awesome mushroom song. Takes ur body and mind on a ride
Damn, what a superb reaction !!! Thanks for that.

Wrong one mate, live at pulse probably the best guitar solo you'll ever hear and the light show is the nuts as we say in England. ✌️

You should listen to the “Live at Pompeii” version his solo performance is unmatched
except for gilmour, the vocals are below par on the pompeii solo concert
Great song. Wrong version. Try the live Pluse concert. A masterpiece.
Ice t and body count released a fire cover this year
I’m telling you Flawed. Go to Hims or Keeps and that shit works to fill in your hair. I was starting to recede about 6 years ago and the prescription put my hairline back and it hasn’t gone back since. Not super expensive either.
listen to skepta wasteman, one of the hardest tunes in grime
11:38 sleep token is so good
You could go song by song watching the movie the Wall and reacting.
Your basic creepy record label doctor, who cares more about the show going on, than getting care for this artist who is drugged out of his mind.
Still waiting for the Avelino Daily Duppy reactions…
