The first mention of you being forced to study as a kid and having little time to play already gave me an idea that, "this person might be grade conscious" which you later on mentioned that that is in fact the case.
From that foundation, you were able to achieve remarkable recognition at an early age. Although the consequences of that is, it will be more painful for you to feel failure, as everyone looks up to you. That's what you're maybe accustomed to back when you were young.
When you told us that you had a breakdown, I was so glad that you found a way to motivate yourself into thinking that failing your design 5 subject is just a setback, and it happens to everyone. The most challenging part of your journey is not from failing, but from losing the will to continue.
Take it easy. I have good intuition that you'll be a successful architect that commits mistakes and learn from them. Always remember that you are a good human being and that it is necessary to feel frustrated at some situations you find challenging to overcome. It shows your genuine care for the passion you have.
I hope you can read this and that whoever comes across this comment will not find reasons to give up something they love, just because they believed that it is what it is.

*DID I FAIL
hii, i just wanna seek advice here. I'm currently 1st year architecture student and planning to shift. First of all I am not good in drawing but still pursue this thinking I can learn different skills here. Right now I am failing some major subjects due to many reasons talaga like burnout, stress, di na din kinakaya ng katawan ko, madalas 2-4 times ako magcoffee, and this 2nd sem nagkaron kami ng f2f na depende lang sa prof kung want nila kami pumasok tapos 2 hrs biyahe, but then there's still an online class pag uwi huhu. Also I have an ojt everyday. Due to that complicated reasons I fail to finish some plates and now failing some major subjects. I want to shift to tourism course but after watching this vlog I realized I am not that passionate about that course. Actually I'm not sure what I'm passionate about. I don't really know what to do. I'm so confused, i pray every night, I cry every moment, I'm just a mess right now. I don't know anymore, should i continue? should I shift? how will I know if this is the right course for me? why i dont see myself in any particular degree? I'm begging y'all, please somebody help me clear my mind.

update: my parents we're dissapointed but still let me shift to a new course. I can say that architecture isn't for me because the moment they let me shift brought me some peace of mind. I hope y'all find that kind of peace too.

GUSTO NYO "EXPERIENCR" KO?
Nung highschool ako grumadiate ako na hindi honor student kaya main goal ko kung mag cocollage na ako im aiming na maging CUM LAUDE so now I'm 2nd year architecture and na realize ko na di na importante saakin na grumaduate ako ng CUM LAUDE ang kailangan ko ay maka SURVIVE sa College at maging successful someday. TBH hindi biro ang mga nararansan ng mga Archi students di talaga maiiwasan minsan na may mga subjects kang bagsak at relate ako don 😂😂😂. Ang importante LABAN parin. Kaya sa mga 1st year Archi students TULOY nyo lang ang pangarap nyo💖💖💖..
I remember when I was in college, napaghinaan din ako ng loob because hindi ako magaling sa VisTech pero buti nlang nagpasalamat din ako na puro consistent ang mga grades ko from VisTech 1 to VisTech 3 though di ako marunong masyado mag color rendering. Nahinaan din ako ng loob when I was in 2nd year 1st sem kc that time naglakas loob pa ako kumuha ng 5-unit na integral calculus muntik pa ako bumagsak, hahaha buti nlang overall nkapasa ako. At nakapasa ka man o hindi sa semester na yan, grades doesn't reflect your entire life but your performance in school on that moment matters. Malalagpasan po yan unless may passion ka pa sa Architecture.

I failed two of my major subjects in my 1st semester of Architecture. (Graphics and Visuals)
One thing I learned for sure is to invest in only one thing... and that's studying. Because, Uni is not the same as high school where you can slack off and call it a day whilst passing having good grades. University is a place where we always have to maintain our posture as good students and reach the adequate threshold of standards.
And lastly, the second thing that I've learned is to never EVER procrastinate... I've been a huge procrastinator even in my high school days and up to now I'm still breaking the bad habit. But trust me, procrastinating would only make your performance drastically worsen as time goes by. You reap what you sow, if you were good in your studies... the grade results would be good... But If you were bad to begin with in studies... the grade results would be bad.
Millions of people have been studying architecture for the a long age of time now, it's not the course's fault but the attitude/mindset of an individual who is taking it. Professors are just fair with us and they only teach us, in the end we're the only one who will be raising our own knowledge... we're just being guided.
TL;DR
1. Deal with your distractions and invest more of your time in studies, because College is harsh and unforgiving.
2. Never ever procrastinate, it's a bad habit to have... you reap what you sow. If you were good in your studies, you receive a good reward. But if you were bad in your studies, you receive a bad reward.
3. It's not the college's fault nor the course itself, but it is the individual's mindset/attitude in studies.
As my professor once said, "Masters were once disasters."

Hello po bagsak po ako sa isang major subject ko po😭, pde po bah ma retake it like special in summer para ma regular? Or sa 2nd year kunin lahat subject while taking the failed subject po?

Depende po sa department niyo kung ioppen nila at nakadepende din po sa eenroll sa subject na iyon

Like na lista po nila ako sa subject pero d ako enrolled kasi nga bagsak ako pero pag may grades na ako sa 1st sem oks na po, pde po ba yun?
@@somebody6492 Sa school namin hindi pwede kunin ung 2nd Sem subject na prerequisite nung nabagsakan mo nung 1st sem. Madadali ung TOR mo kapag nakita ng registrar. Di pinapayagan sa amin masasayang lng ung effort mo If ever makalusot ka na hindi napansin ng nageenroll sa inyo.
