  • The Yorkshire Air Ambulance team races to the rescue after a high-speed crash leaves a mother and child trapped in their wrecked car. Plus, paramedics Paul and James call in a coastguard chopper to help save a climber critically injured on Yorkshire's biggest natural landmark.
This popular British series takes viewers into the cockpits of rescue choppers to experience life or death dramas, high-speed action and colourful characters. The missions are often the only hope for the critically ill or badly injured in England's most unreachable landscapes.

It's just amazing what a bit of 'physics' can do in the bad angles. At a good angle maybe he'd have had a bruise, and a scrape on a wrist. And while that poor fellow got a DEFINITELY bad angle, it almost surely could have been even worse, which is scary to think about. And I just heard that he had not even ONE laceration of his liver, but two of them! So wild. That moment of initial pain where his arms quivered told me IMMEDIATELY that he had damaged something badly even if we couldn't see it. *I* had suspected his hip for a moment, until they settled him and he didn't seem to mind that hip being 'up' like that. The moment of anguish was clear, though.
...I hope the other lads DID bring his poor bike out, though! :)

Basic institutional greed plus for-profit hospital chains, what could possibly go wrong?
The Fire/Rescue/EMT services are generally highly trained and relatively poorly funded.
And the more rural an area, the less help is available.

In Norway we have the same system, all is for free. BUT, we pay for it anyway, sort of,because of taxes.
And emt and doctors have a good pay. Nurces could have had more/earnt more ,but this is politic.
I had an accident. Both helicopter and ambulance was free of course. The same with month on hospital. And all medicine for free. After i came home, i had someone cone home to me to help with wounds and medicine, everyday, plus someone who helped cleaning house and such,i could not do myself, had to sit still.
I even got my medicin delivered to the door, well, all the way in my livingroom actually.
I lije the system and it is similar for everybody.
But, as i sad, we pay for all this, thru taxes, and this is how we want It, always. It feel predictabel and safe. No worries.
All humans should have the right go the best medic aid and treatment , no matter what ot cost. I dont know what my bill would have been, but i guess a lot, since i had majour treatment and all the specialist, and operations, and helicopter arent cheap either. (I even got transported home in an ambulance, and carried inside my house , when i was finish at hospital).

I like it, even when having to pay tax .
      It feels safe .
Even to THINK i should pay for medic aid helicopter, the ambulance, and several weeks at hospital, all kind of specialist care and treatment , food and medicines.
Even ambulance back home , and carry me to my sofa !
I would have had to pay for years and years if i should have payd for it all. Everyday, for weeks, one nurse came to check om me, and bring me medicibe,if empty out, after the hospital. And every other day,a fysiotherapist trained me,at my home, and a housekeeper came twice a week to clean and stuff.
      All for free.

This is fantastic. I am State side and here the ambulance takes you to the nearest ER/ED and if you need to be taken to a larger facility they determine the urgency and only then will they send a helicopter. I have never seen paramedics fly to the scene before!

42:53... Unless it's a climb up Everest. As my opinion goes, aside from combat sports, mountaineering is the least likely sport in which you're likely to get help from strangers. Obviously that doesn't mean that every single person is just out for themselves but as a whole. Of course the mountain biker might think of getting new riding buddies, they were just a bit to self absorbed in my opinion just based on the two other guys statements.
