    Ek console gammer ke liye atleast 5 se 7000 rupees chahiye monthly gaming ke liye. Jaha kebal 3% families hi 1 lakh se jada earn krti h waha itna paisa kon kharcha kare.

      Exactly, I get the frustration people have but there isn't much that can be done about it until the economy gets to the point where people can support the notion of gaming, additionally games often times are not regionally priced.

    Great video! I've worked in this industry for over a decade now, and you got a few wrong points there buddy, investment, having good hardware, games being graphically intensive and having a big team is just few aspects on why games are called AAA. The whole AAA term comes from the stock, bond and companies rating system, which in layman's terms means high investment and high reward with less chances of defaulting., so AAA means least chances to default, AA a bit less, and then it goes on.
    These are on my personal observations from me working in the industry here, one of the two biggest reasons why the Indian gaming market hasn't boomed is because India has always been a servicing hub for both VFX and games for 25 years, aka, foreign companies come here, use the cheap labor, and get things done while their core creative team stays in USA, Canada or where ever, India is one of the best countries at it, ngl, so most people holding the upper management position are corporate guys who have experience on paper of 2+ decades but most of the time lack vision (we have personally worked with them when I returned to India) and focus on how to make profits via said games.
    Second is the culture, India doesn't have a gaming culture, parents tell children to focus on studies rather than playing games, even if they have a laptop or a pc most of them do not buy games due to lack of purchasing power also as you mentioned taxes on consoles, entertainment tax, etc. (one of the biggest reasons why Nintendo doesn't see India as a market). So kids mostly end up playing mobile games, free to play games or pirate games, which leads to upcoming devs having a narrow field of vision of what projects are supposed to be, or driven by money. Only 0.3% of the indian population is on steam on a global level, another huge factor why investors feel like the games won't sell.
    Now I don't know about how the funds for game development is being allocated by the government, but from what I've heard they're dividing it as a competitive games and non competitive games, I might be wrong.
    Of course I've started an indie studio myself and we've pitched to a few places which did not yield results but not giving up, things will change over the time!

      Thank you very much for your detailed response, it's always good have a perspective from a person who has experience working in the industry. Some of the points I didn't include were mentioned in my previous videos, also I hope you achieve success with your studio and game. I will be looking forward to it, as I also stated in one of my previous videos, our gaming culture is just not there yet, I don't think Gaming was even considered as an option until 2017, PUBG phase was an eye opener to the general public about gaming in a way that's serious, I could be wrong on that tho. Thanks for the clarification on AAA definition as well, much appreciated!

      @@ThePhaganax I am glad you liked my response though I couldn't go all detailed, I have been making videos myself but its not to the quality of what you're making.
      I don't think many people and game developers I've worked with in the recent past play anything apart from first person shooter or the one's that are trending online. PUBG and other mobile games revolving around the TDM, MMOG, BR game mechanics took off due to Jio coming with cheap internet on the mobile devices and then COVID lockdowns happening which forced parents to get their children phones.
      Love the videos on your channel! Continue to produce them! :)

      If PS and Xbox see India as a market, then i don't see any reason why Nintendo wouldn't. There are many countries with high taxes.

    • @roundbrushstudio
      @roundbrushstudio 16 днів тому

      @@AlwaysFurina its not just about taxes, its about the whole culture of buying games and purchasing power, on a global scale India only contributes $178M for console sales, sure its large but when you compare it to USA alone its not much, $7,900M. Again its about sales at the end of the day, its not like I've worked with nintendo to change their policies hahah but they might change in the future, who knows. For now Nintendo's sales isn't affected much regardless of not targeting the largest population in the world.

    One of the reason why Indian can't make good quality triple a games is because agree or disagree our devs don't take big risk that much instead they take more highly inspiration from foreign than our own culture take example of Kamla it's maybe inspired by granny but granny have more replay value than Kamla I hope you get my point problem is not inspiration problem is not having guts to implying new things in Indian game's.

      Also some studious like Gameon don't take feedbacks and advice seriously from audiences heck they don't even comment I have said to release their Temple of Causality in Epic game's but it's been 8months no comments and reply plus let's talk about Indus studious when people where giving feedback they were blocking them in discord so you see our own some Indian studio don't care about game's I feel they're just here to capitalize gaming as business

    • @ThePhaganax
      @ThePhaganax  20 днів тому

      Have to agree with you on the risk taking, our industries play it a little too safe which is understandable, you can see this bollywood pretty clearly, as for GameEon... I have neutral opinions regarding them, but yeah no communication really stings for the player base and the fans, TeamCherry has been radio silent on Silksong since thier initial showcase, Communication should be top priority for any studio tbh, we'll have to wait and see Mumbai Gullies. Indus's launch has been an utter disaster for sure, I did want to make an objective review on Indus but I quickly dropped that idea.

Will have wait till then to form my opinion but it being hit or flop will completely depend on how good the reception is or how much money it makes.

      @@AlwaysFurina I am aware about its development cause I am one of its funded member and I am currently still supporting it. My context is we have all the tools and resources available, damn even Epic games have given us FAB now, our problem is the know how of making games. Sure it takes its own course of time cause I am also working on game projects, but I like the rockstar games strategy to be silent until unless the product is ready. Our main stream media just hypes every small thing as if was a miracle. Even if MG turnes out to look like GTA vice City kind a visuals with a good story that will also be enough because it will be a hit irrespective of visuals being a secondary factor for any video game. Most of game devs here in India are simply focusing of graphics quality rather than putting all efforts on animation quality and authentic gameplay mechanics.

      6-10 years give or take, there needs to be a demand for AAA projects, China only recently released thier first AAA game which is Black Myth Wukong (not sure if Genshin counts? But it does fit the bill of a AAA title, AAA gacha maybe?) We should definitely give time for our industries to adjust. Indies are doing awesome tho, so that's a positive sign if anything.

      @@ThePhaganax The problem is that, our devs try to use nationalism as a selling point.
      Even if they want to use nationalism as a selling point, they should take their time and make a game like Black Myth, that shows Indian mythology and ancient India, but instead they spends money on craps like Indus Battle Royale.

    • @ThePhaganax
      @ThePhaganax  14 днів тому

      The thing is hinduism is an actively practiced religion, it's not like greek religion where people have stopped worshiping the pantheon gods over time, only a very small population of people worship these gods in the modern day, It's hard to make a game on Indian mythology without offending someone's sentiments, a game requires a certain level of freedom in form gameplay or story, or anything else you can think of, I think Japan's model will be quite useful here, blend of mythology and modern, just like how Raji does it. Imagine a game that takes place in an post-apocalyptic India (Future) that's one of the ways I can think to show off our culture through the faith in gods in an apocalyptic future, also agreed... Nationalism shouldn't be game's only selling point, look where that got us

      @AlwaysFurina 14 днів тому

      @@ThePhaganax Faug is a rushed decision that tried to leverage on blind nationalism, just because they were adamant to replace PUBG.
      I believe Indus devs should've better taken their time and instead of making a battle royale game, they should've tried to use the concept on an open world indo futuristic game, infact battle royale isn't the genre where you show your mythology and culture.

    • @AlwaysFurina
      @AlwaysFurina 14 днів тому

      @@ThePhaganax Yes Hinduism is a practising religion and non extinct like Greek and Roman religions. Problem isn't that; bollywood has made movies on Hinduism and Indian mythology and nobody said anything, if they portray ancient India and Indian mythology, in a positive way then i don't see any reason it would offend anyone.
      I am not here for any political discussion, but if a game based on ancient India and Indian mythology breaks global records, i bet left wing ecosystem will get upset and instead they will call it Hindutva propaganda and a propaganda by Modi government to use games as a nationalism tool.
      So various factors are at play here.
